It's taken me a few minutes to find the Comment box. If you're not a man on Lilly olanzapine then I'll have sweet dreams tonight and u know that I will. Mac might take care of everything. I just thought u had a bit more to do with your time. My God. I'm not gonna rip you off. Why would I? What ya worried about? Huey?
@ChristoffUK Fenton did it. Well, he and Dave did it. If you don't know who Fenton is, he does DMB's lights. And yes, he's the same Fenton from the bumper sticker "Do It For Fenton." He also directed the Folsom Field DVD.
@ShortestShowShown no its about how like we were put on this earth to praise god and be peaceful on the most part but most people do things like fight, have wars, steal, rape, and other crimes. the devil has many more is like there is so much bad stuff in a supposively peaceful world.
how do u know that? really... he played every instrument? i love this song... it's my boyfriends fav dmb song... and he is not a big dmb fan. .. but if he ... dave, played every instrument... hmmm... that would add a whole new level. like a steven winwood level.
Rolling Stone interview. 40th anniversary edition. He was talking about the marvels of modern technology (and other great things) and how he can record himself playing different instruments and singing in different ways to make him sound like an entire tribe of himself singing.
what a twisted reality... i love this song, but i am so not sure of this version... regardless of my opinion dave rocks it out. DROP THE DEVIL TO HIS KNEES!!!!~)
I love when, on the Radio City dvd, Dave and Tim are backstage and one of the guys working is like "Whats this song called?" and dave just looks at him and goes "I don't know. It says here its called 'Eh hee...' that sounds pretty good to me"
Dave is crazy! I love him - he's an awesome actor, but have you watched the dancers in this video? I know it's hard to watch anything other than Dave, but the choreography in this vid is an absolute trip! I'm totally digging it!
anyone who hasn't checked out the song Cigarette Lit that was unreleased by Dave on Some Devil, needs to check it out just search it now it is amazing.
I thought this was incredible... reminds me why I think this man is the best musician and songwriter of our time.
I think what this video is portraying is the useless, ignorant, and detached state that most people are in. He's making the point that society "dresses us up" and we take it. We are conforming, being pushed around and missing the point of life "come to believe we're the greatest"... Dave got the opportunity to see another culture, showing to him how fucked up ours can be
hahaha his expression at 148 is priceless. hes like "oh hell no, i know this bitch did not just do that!" this video is awesome. really powerful. funny and serious at times
look up the lyrics and listen to the song at the same time...it makes it MUCH better when you actually understand what he's saying...he's a little different these days huh?
This video is amazing! Its ultimate insanity! A great reflection on the way that religion has misconstrued the ways that many of us see the world...
The photography is artful, the acting by Dave is spot on and the set design is minimal yet elegant and dark. Whoever directed this video did a phenomenal job...
I cant wait for the new album! I've heard around 6 new songs on the net that have yet to be released and I love every one of them!!!!
This song kicks Live! Dave played it all three nites at the Gorge this Summer...never seen Dave strum so fast on any other song. great song...can't wait for the new album....
the fact that he did all the instrumentation, songwriting and producing of the song is simply awesome, and for this reason it makes it a precious single for fans. But of course it is just really cool but It could never be as musically fulfilling as if he played it with the rest of the band, who are all renowned musicians.
Awesome videoclip too, very tribal... I still dont know what it means, but I think that is how dave really behaves in the privacy of his home....
ok i have watched the two videos, and they are still different then the one that was launched on iTunes. If you look at the facial expressions when he has the hat and clown nose on, it is still different across all three

I'm a huge DMB fan, so I'm wondering which producer ruined this song? Batson? So much better live, they need to stop working with producers who create rap albums. In fact, just stop releasing non live albums, or bring back Lillywhite.
Dave did an interview in the last Rolling Stone about Eh Hee. He produced the whole song himself. He also played all of the instruments himself for the song for this track. He mixed it all himself too.
omg this video is funny it does get kind of repetative but i dont think dave would do anything he wasnt too sure about soo....he wtote the song he produced the video and if he is happy with it i am. SO QUIT COMPLAINING PEOPLE!!.....damn...
the problem with Dave Matthews doing this more "electronical" sound is you cannot repeat it during a live performance ...and everyone knows that Dave Matthews is a live band. It will be interesting to see what his next album will be like. Personally I hope he does something like Before these Crowded Streets, because it is hands down my favourite album
I've seen Eh Hee performed live with the full band and it's great. It has a lot more musical depth than the solo version and everyone in the band plays a part in it.
I don't understand why people wouldn't like this? Or why everybody thinks its so "weird"? It may be different from a lot of his previous work, but it's brilliant. And from a hypocritical standpoint, why is everybody so damn opinionated? If you don't like it then just go, leave, get the hell away from it. Let's lose the hostility, it's terribly unattractive.
hmm well excuse me, but i downloaded the free video of this on itunes, and the first time i listened to it on the way to swim practice at 5 in the morning, i thought "damn, this shit SUCKS". but i listened to it 3 or 4 more times.
it's probably the best song of his since dancing nancies or even crush. it's too different to be good, it's amazing.
oh yeah and i'm 15 yrs old. so go suck a dick. dmb is the shit.
replying to kunit135...same here...i listened to it once i was like dammnnn this is Dave Matthews?...and then i was just playing my itunes library again..and it came on again, and i actually listened..and it grew on me a lot...now i listen to both versions (acoustic) and this one...it is amazing..and i m 15 too.
im sure you have a deep concern for those living in Africa. All you care about is what kind of oatmeal your mommy is making for you in the morning, you little terd.
For those who don't know the story: Dave wrote this song on a trip to Africa when he and his family visited the Khoi San people, a very primal tribe who survive on pretty much air and dirt. He wrote this song as a tribute to the music they create. It's a beautiful tribute, song, and it won't impress the 16 year olds, because 16 year olds don't care about primal African tribes.
I'm 15 and love this song, and I actually do care and believe it is very impressive. As is all of Dave's work. Please, watch your comments and quit trying to speak for everyone. :)
I think people sometimes restrict an artist with their expectations. No this isn't the stuff that made dmb a top 40 icon, this is new, artistic. If you want top 40 go listen to your radio. If you want to open your mind for a few mins, you might find yourself enjoying, and exploring this song. I love it, there is a story behind the video.... figure it out! Excellent!
This is amazing... You guys probably don't even know the story behind... thats why you don't appreciate it... this is part of the top 5 of my favorite songs of Dave or anyone for that matter... number one being Cornbread by dave..
this is not great work by any means, this song is annoying and redundant. I love daves music, always have, but this one does nothing for me. I dont understand why this was released as a single.
this song is sounding more like the dave of 2000 and with a video like this and lyrics that are just absolutely amazing, we have no idea what we are in for. personally i think the next record will be one of the best since btcs. dave is so fuckin good!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this might be one of his worst songs to date. This video is a piece of artistic crap. I like to see the band broaden their horizons with their music, but this song sucks my a#% anyone that disagrees, try and picture yourself jamming out to this while driving,....you cant. Their earlier stuff blows all their recent "new stuff" out of the agua.
that is a very bold statement, however, you are entitled to your opinion. I could name 50 songs that dave has written that I would say are better. this is a mundane, repetitive tune, but the D&T version is alot cooler.
in regards to the comments about hoping (or not hoping) that this is on the new cd, i'm not sure how many of you know this, but this studio recording is not a DMB song - it's only dave matthews, it's not the band playing. Whatever that means in terms of being on ever being on a cd, band or solo, i have no idea.
I'm a huge dave fan but i really dont like the video or the song. The version with Dave and Tim blows this out of the water. I think he screwed this song up with the full band and the video.
i have watched all 3 versions several times... i just can't understand the video. I have had a lot of friends try to explain it to me, its just so bizarre that I can't figure it out... any help anyone?
yeah, it's not something you have you wrap your head all the way around...i mean, here, i'll give you a quick guess: the character dave's playing here represents humanity and stuff that we go through. i think the part where the girl comes in, and wraps his head in gauze then puts a helment on him, then tries to feed him an apple must be especially important to him and fenton....it's a part that speaks to me, that's for sure....
This song it freaking awesome...I LOVE the video it is really creepy and jacked up but, it reminds me of old DMB!! I can't wait till the TX shows this weekend! I'll be there!
my guess is since it was released on itunes, it wont be on the new cd. i hope it isnt. live this song is boss, but i dont like this version, and the videos are weird as hell
love this video....DMB rocks

I'm 15 and love this song, and I actually do care and believe it is very impressive. As is all of Dave's work. Please, watch your comments and quit trying to speak for everyone. :)

THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU! THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU! .... to make great music. but he does kinda look like he's having a seizure.

You guys probably don't even know the story behind... thats why you don't appreciate it... this is part of the top 5 of my favorite songs of Dave or anyone for that matter... number one being Cornbread by dave..

you say that now but soon you will find yourself signging "eh hee" without thinking about it and then you'll say, "damn, i guess i do like that song"

timconn1981 4 years ago
just so you all know, dave created all the music for this and plays all the instruments on it

big DMB fan here. I love this song live and when dave and tim do it but this version just doesnt sit right with me.
pepsi1940 4 years ago
great song before it was recorded. they should keep it simple like it was live, then it was so good.
iggysoccer20 4 years ago
this is not great work by any means, this song is annoying and redundant. I love daves music, always have, but this one does nothing for me. I dont understand why this was released as a single.
timconn1981 4 years ago
If you don't like this song or video then you are not a true fan to any good music.
This is "ART"!
Go get the next american idol cd and have fun just don't bash this great work by Dave.

I feel the same as Dave has been writing on the road and everything is so raw and good.
Can't wait!

i like it, its dave. Its more personal, like the some devil album.

this song is sounding more like the dave of 2000 and with a video like this and lyrics that are just absolutely amazing, we have no idea what we are in for. personally i think the next record will be one of the best since btcs. dave is so fuckin good!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
this might be one of his worst songs to date. This video is a piece of artistic crap. I like to see the band broaden their horizons with their music, but this song sucks my a#% anyone that disagrees, try and picture yourself jamming out to this while driving,....you cant. Their earlier stuff blows all their recent "new stuff" out of the agua.
timconn1981 4 years ago
Actually, this might be the best song Dave has ever written. Listen to the Dave and Tim version.
beau99 4 years ago
that is a very bold statement, however, you are entitled to your opinion. I could name 50 songs that dave has written that I would say are better. this is a mundane, repetitive tune, but the D&T version is alot cooler.
timconn1981 4 years ago
in regards to the comments about hoping (or not hoping) that this is on the new cd, i'm not sure how many of you know this, but this studio recording is not a DMB song - it's only dave matthews, it's not the band playing. Whatever that means in terms of being on ever being on a cd, band or solo, i have no idea.
freerider59102 4 years ago
I'm a huge dave fan but i really dont like the video or the song. The version with Dave and Tim blows this out of the water. I think he screwed this song up with the full band and the video.

i have watched all 3 versions several times... i just can't understand the video. I have had a lot of friends try to explain it to me, its just so bizarre that I can't figure it out... any help anyone?
ndbigeyedfish06 4 years ago
yeah, it's not something you have you wrap your head all the way around...i mean, here, i'll give you a quick guess: the character dave's playing here represents humanity and stuff that we go through. i think the part where the girl comes in, and wraps his head in gauze then puts a helment on him, then tries to feed him an apple must be especially important to him and fenton....it's a part that speaks to me, that's for sure....
