  • @borisvankatwijk of course, man... but would you give me a Jem, so that I could play like Vai? I don't think so...

  • sloppy..

  • @Ateebusman1 Hey, Ateebusman, what I did was kind of an improvisation keeping in mind the original song. Try practicing the original transcription. Good luck!

  • thanks, man!

  • TOCA MUITO!!!

  • Valew!

  • the original pickups are black in this guitar, are you sure there weren't evos or something in it when you bought it?

  • Man, there's a huge discussion about these white pickups in the comments above. All I can say is that they're original. I think they some models like this here in Brazil. Cya.

  • in south america this guitar come with white pickups and knobs.

    it is the original pickups.

  • I think that they might have changed the colour, in the 2009 edition on the site, it shows the rg with black pickups, but if you see, this was recorded in 2006 so they might have produced it differently

  • Did you put Evos in the Rg350??

  • No, man. They're stock pick-ups. But I'd love to have Evos here!

  • Oh, well your sound is pretty good. Nice job.

  • Thank you!!

  • So nice to see a guy take the time to correctly work out a song. Very nice job, you showed me some things I was doing wrong!

    Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks!

  • oh and whats floyd rose lol im getting this guitar in a week and i dont even know what floyd rose means lol haha

  • i heard these guitars go well with some line 6 amps is that true?

  • Thank you, dude! I really appreciate you commenting my video. Yes, Blue Powder is a great option, but also very difficult. I could give it a try, of course. Thanks! Bye.

  • dude that is some amazeing skill you have there

    you play with such passion

    you should do blue powder

  • Nice guitar. Wonderful job on this song. Love that warm and smooth tone. Well done indeed. By the way, I have a Washburn MG94 that is white and looks darn near similar to your Ibanez except Imine has just dots for inlays. SHE'S MY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey - great job.

You're playing really amazing. Are those Pickups from DiMarzio?

  • Thanks!!

No, they're the original ones. (check the previous discussion about these pick-ups throughout the comments above)

  • wow!! i love the white pickups on your model!! keep up the good playing man!!!

  • Thanks!!

  • Excellent!!! It's good to see someone playing good music in this generation. Everywhere I turn, there's the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears, and I can't take it! We need more of this! Well played, and you put so much heart into it. Great job, bud.

  • Man, thank you a lot!!

  • No problem friend. Just telling the truth. It's good to see a fellow guitarist doing well for himself.

  • cool, i guess you changed the pickups & trem bar?:)

  • Thanks! No, I didn't change anything. This is the original guitar. I think they made some different models to sell hier in Brazil, just that. If you read the previous comments, a lot of people discussed that, especially the white pickups. Thanks for commenting. Cya!

  • what amp are you using and are you using the zoom g2.1u?

    please reply.

  • I'm using a conventional amp (Wattsom 50W) and a Zoom 1010. Nothing great, man, but it sounded cool! Thanks for asking. Cya!

  • Great song! Great video! Great song! I don't know why but this is one of my favorite vai songs. I'm thinking about getting this in the black/chrome scheme. Eventually I'm planning on switching out the pickups to Breeds and prob the pickguard to one of those fancy vine engraved pickguards. Great stuff!!

  • :S now i cannot decide which guitar i sholud buy, my friends and my guitar teacher hardly prefer set bridge guitars. i decided to buy cort kx1q katana,, is there a model that gives your guitar sound like joe satrianis's whistle sound?? (of course at that price)

  • how long have u been using that ibanez??

  • Since 2005. I recommend.

  • have u ever had any problems with floyd rose about tune??

  • With my previous guitar yes, but with this Ibanez, never. Its floyd rose is really good.

  • nice job man. Very clear play!!!

  • Thanks!

  • There is one thing I apreciate in you. You are really a grown up. You have maturity. I mean you know to hear a bad comment and not overreact. I'd love to make friends.

    I really appreciate you.

  • Now that was a different comment! Thank you so much. Of course we could be friends. Feel free to send me an e-mail here on You Tube. I'd love it. Thanks again. Bye

  • Amazing skills dude!!

  • Thanks a lot!

Check out the other videos too!

  • Excellent

  • guys... there was a release of the Ibanez RG350DX with white pickups... just search it

  • I know man. The problem is that I put the backing track after the record session. So, as I recorded the song using a videotape, when I put that into my computer and mixed with the backing track, there was these tempo problems, which ones were hard to solve. The best I could do was this. Thanks for watching!

  • You got the notes and everything(besides few small parts), but you're doing it Wayy too fast - Sometimes even not with the beat. Chill, cool it, play with the music :).

  • Thanks, dude!

  • great job, man! keep playin' :)

  • Got goosebumps....Awesome man

  • Thanks, dude!

  • flippin awesome! 5 stars

  • Thanks a lot, man!!

  • keep practicing and re-listen the song

  • Ok, dude.

  • how did u get it in white pickups or did u change it?

  • It came with white pickups. I don't know why. I bought it from a friend.

  • Weird i want one really bad with White pickups do u know where i could get one? THX

  • No idea... you know I'm from Brazil, right?

  • OmG no LoL

  • i saw one of those for about 200 euros

  • I'm using stock pick-ups (there's a lot of comments about my pick-ups and my guitar model previously. Take a look). Thanks for commenting!

  • sweet tone dude! what pickups are you using?

  • how much do your guitatar cost ?

  • Here in Brazil it costs about one thousand dollars. Why?

  • uao....in italy it costs 420 euro ( 800 dollars ??? i don't know ) .... however good playing !

  • Thanks a lot, man!

  • definitley did that song justice

    sounded like vai

  • Hey man! Freakin' awsome playing!=) I can now see that the guitar seems to work good with modern metal(Vai). But does it work good when you play Maiden och AC/DC? Curious cuz I think I'll get one of these beasts! Rock on dude! =D

  • Thanks, dude!! Yes, it works pretty good, although I think it is a little too aggressive for playing AC/DC. Anyway, it's a great guitar! Cya!

  • This is awesome! Very nice playing dude.

  • Thanks, dude.

  • you are awesome wichi pedal did you use???

  • Thanks!!

I used a Zoom 1010 Pedal Box and a common amplifier (in the case, a Wattsom 50W). Nothing great, no Boss Pedals, no Marshall amplifiers, hehehe. It's nice you liked it. Bye!

  • i like the tone..

  • poor playing.!!

  • You suck definately, idi0t

  • lets see waht you can do,,,talk is cheap and there was no reason for that nasty reply.you tube isnt a license to be a dick,,DICK.....

  • WHAT SORRY ABOUT THAT

  • Ok, man, it's your opinion. Just remember I'm not Steve Vai. Cya.

  • Hey man I think you did pretty good,I play this one but I try and stick note for note as much as possable.Vai is so easy to over play wich i think you did on this vid.You have some decent licks you added yourself but this song has a much more suttle feel to it,,Overall just a little over played. But hey it could be pulled off in a bar just not on you tube.ha,ha,whatever makes ya feel good my man thats what its about and it didnt suck,so screw these guys,,peace to ya,,,

  • It was the response for Vivaldi1Machiavelli, your playing is awesome !!

  • ohh,man im realy sorry about that, didnt see that, looks like peaple are jumping on this kid and there is far worse on the tube ya know.I truly am sorry for that...peace to you...

  • It was the response for Vivaldi1Machiavelli, your playing is awesome !!

  • Oh, don't worry! I realized that!

    Thanks for the compliment!! Cya

  • there is nothing like self critic.... and i hope you realise that you still need to practise to get it nailed.. but keep up the good work.

  • they aint the standard pick upps on the 350 the 350 has infs4 pick ups they look like dimarzios

  • Hello, the ibanez 350 dx back then, well, WAY back then had ibanez white pickups called "psnd" (powersound), I think they were produced in Korea, then they introduced the infinity pickups (black colour) and now they are produced in indonesia (with the infinity pickups) hope that helps, I think the 2000 catalog has the RG 350 dx with white pickups

  • kewl thnks for the guitar history lesson lol

  • rg 350 dx?

  • why are your humbuckers white ^^ they use to be blacks on the rg 350 dx

    muy bueno asi se hace

  • looks like they r dimarzio pickups!!!

  • then they aren't original

  • nice sound steve vai tone has big similarities in this video....would you mind if you can post your patch on your zoom efx if you dont mind... i really like your tone...nice playing

  • hola!!! soy de ecuador!! help me please. i don`t speak english, Tell me that this is the guitar I am going to buy one very soon ... Please tell me if this guitar is good?

  • Hola!! Yes, this guitar is very good, especially because of its jumbo frets. They allow great speed. Good luck!

  • No intention of posting it on youtube? Bullshit, buddy....you've got a title screen at the start with your email on it, who do you think you're kidding?

  • AND you have someone manually taping you! How about just be honest and write that you recorded this song purely for the purpose of sharing it on the net.

  • Well, are you sure you're able to read and understand what's written? So check this again: "I've recorded it with no intention of sharing it on the internet. BUT, AS I LIKED IT A LOT, HERE IT IS".

  • And, also, if you check the date of the video (August 11, 2006) and the date when I joined You Tube (January 02, 2007), where's my intention?? And does that really matter?

  • you need a new camera...

    Nice song.

  • Hahaha, yes, for sure I need a new camera. The poor quality of the video, however, is because I've recorded the video in a VHS. Then, I put it in the computer as .AVI to edit, and converted to .WMV to upload to You Tube. It decreases quality, no escape. Thanks.

  • man are you using a wattsom amp? nice, i always wanted to use a digital effects pedal on a wattsom('cause i sing in a band and i use the wattsom to plug in the mic)!!

  • Good play dude! Very good sound produced out from your amplifier!!! But the noise when you stop playing at the beginning should be cut out by using noise reduction, I believe it was on your Zoom Digital effects.

  • Thanks for watching it!

The noise you mentioned is not only due to my Zoom 1010. In fact, I don't know exactly from where this noise comes from. I believe is something with my amplifier. Anyway... cya

  • It might be because of the ground electricity that your amplifier produces..Might be..i'm not sure though..that's what my amplifier does..anyway,great playing..i wish i could do that..emm,try to follow the tempo..it's good already, just need a little work on the tempo..Nice

  • Yes, I'm sure it's something with the amplifier. Anyway, the tempo problem is because I put the backing track over the original video. I don't know why, but in some parts there are delays. I'll try to record another video and mix it properly. Thanks.

  • dude you rock..and I like your guitar

    keep on rocking man

  • dang nice you got it :O

  • I'll soon buy the same guitar, but can you tell me wath setups you use to get a sound like this one ? (steve vai style)

  • i got the RG350 DX...but mine has black Ibanez Infinity pickups... meh, i think i mite change them to evolutions, better sustain :D

  • good playing i have your guitar . niut from poland

  • hey man you play awsome and i have the same guitar and i want to ask you wich pedal are you using for this song

  • I use a Zoom 1010 Pedal Box. Besides it, I use an Ibanez RG 350-DX (with original pick-ups) and a common amplifier (not a Marshal or a Mesa Boogie, unfortunately). Thanks for watching!

  • i have this same guitar, but with one change...:S i have a white picks, u change your's¿¿:O

  • The original pick-ups of my Ibanez are these white ones. I don't know why, but maybe they have a different pattern for South America. I really don't have a clue.

  • ey man do u hav any tuning issues or other things of that nature with the guitar? just wonderin caus i got one on layby and bout to pic it up in few weeks

  • none whatsoever, i have one and i havent tuned it in a month cos the locked nut does its job so well!!

  • i got the same guitar and im thinkin of putting pink dimarzio evolutions on it XD

  • They're great pick-ups! Nice choice!

  • Do you use the fernandes Sustainer Kit?

  • Nope, the only "sustain thing" that I use is the compressor effect of my pedal box.

  • That would be awesome, i get the ZoomG9 next three weeks, thanx bro;)

  • yeah good job, but arent the original pickups black?

  • Dude, check it out the previous messages. A lot of people asked me about that. Just answering, I don't know! haha I got it like this. Bye.

  • Hey man, I just LOVE this song!

    Seen Vai thrice!

    You do it very well.

Like that guitar too, thinking of buying one.

Do You have the back track for the song?

    Where can I get it??

    Your version is awsome!

    Really great!

    Keep rocking!

  • Hey, man, thanks a lot!

The guitar is very good. if you're thinking of buying one, go ahead! About the back track, I have it here in my PC. I can send it to you, if you want (I didn't get it from Internet). Thanks again!

  • damn good job dude.

  • i think thats dimarzio pickups dudes ... i prefer seymore duncan

  • No, man. I use stock pick-ups, and I really don't know what pick-ups they are. I bought the guitar from a friend, and they were already white.

  • Could you post your EQ-Settings, please?!

    Thanks. (great job)

  • Hey, sure. But I use a Zoom 1010 Pedal Box, so the settings are specifically for this pedal. Do you want them anyway?

  • Really nice playing dude!

  • whats the big difference about the jumbo frets?

  • very very very good, and mad guitar also!

  • jackpot! hit the nail on the head m8! keep itu p

  • great playing, cool guitar!

  • nice guitar, i have an RG-350DX also, i have black pickups, but my tremo bar is chrome cause i got my guitar used and the guy didn't have the original, but it is still an amazing guitar, wish i could get the JEM7V Steve Vai Signature but couldn't afford it

  • The new pickups on the 350models is Ibanez' newest pickups the "Infinity 3" (INF) on the neck pickup and the central singlecoil and the "Infinity 4" as the bridge pickup. Got the same 350 as this guy, and it's almost perfect, but the JEM series is the dream=D

  • just like to add. that was fucking lovely :D

  • he need a fernandes sustainer, like steve

  • have you tried a compressor? itl help ya out with the vai sound ide recommend like a boss compressor/sustainer also a lil delay not a whole lot just a lil.

  • To me,it sounded PRETTY CLOSE to Vai - and with RG 350 with stock pickups !? - must buy one. And also played quite good...

  • Excellent......I have the same effects box, Zoom 1010 and I used to use it years ago with my band, The Beercats. Somewhere along the way I had switched to using individual stomp boxes and I just recently started using my Zoom again in the studio. Looks like you have an Ibanez guitar...what amp setup are you using on the song?

  • Excellent!

  • whats the big difference about the jumbo frets?

  • wow dude you almost have the same setup i do. I use an ibanez rg350 dx and a ZOOM gfx-5, the pickups dont look stock since the originals are black..

  • na q bien .. amo esa cancion !!

  • good dude you play well the guitare !

  • Nice done, as said, the RG 350 dx is a slight cheaper version of Steve Vai's JEM/Universe series. Thats why i like it so much! Thinkin' of buying one, i just love the Jumbo frets

  • what is the difference between jumbo and regular frets :(

  • the size and the implications, with jumbo frets is easier to bend, tap and is easier to play faster because you can do less preasure on the strings. Hope that helps.

  • DUDE...

    U R SO COOL

  • yo im seriously considerin getin an Ibanez RG350 DX and was wondering are they good all that??

    Thnx, Jed

  • Man, this song just gives me the chills. Awesome cover, dude. What effect box do you use?

  • Hey, I'm happy you liked it!

I use a pedalbox Zoom 1010, with distortion, delay, compressor and feeling! hehe Bye.

  • there is a slight tempo prob at times other than that its good,, and tones r grt,, what processor/units do u use?

  • Yeah, I know there's a slight tempo problem. I added the backtrack to the video and tried to synchronize them. I could've done better, but I'm happy with the final result. My main ideia was to achieve a clear backtrack and bring up the guitar sound. In the original recording you can barely listen to the backtrack. Just answering your question about processor, I use a Pentium 4, 2,26 Ghz. But, as you've read, the problem wasn't my Pc. Bye!

  • Nice guitar, nice cover ! Good job :D

(Oropherbp : The 2001 350DX model had white pickups)

  • Nice ! :) But why do you have white pick-ups ? And have you a website for the backtrack please ? Thanks.

  • The question about white pick-ups has been answered.

About the website, I haven't found this backing track on the internet. And I don't know a good website for it. Try using Google. Bye!
