Although I only had known Artie Shaw's take on it for all my life until just today, I can say that-after hearing other artists sing it-this is the best sung version out there.

One needs not only a great voice and orchestra to play this well, the sensibility is key.

I still prefer Artie Shaw though, for by not knowing the lyirics I was able to make up my own love story out of the beautiful melody. Pretty close to what the lyrics say but still...love as an idea has more depth

creatstar is correct, this was Meher Baba's favourite song, but wasn't around in 1920; Cole Porter wrote it in late '30's.  Baba's favourite version was Leslie Hutchinson, available on this site. Check it out - JAI BABA!

You give this song a kick I haven't seen yet, I find it quite interesting. It's hard to compare styles really, specially when both sing it so well. I like Julio Iglesias, although I think he can be a bit too cheesy sometimes. :P
