"Boston can get REALLY cold in the winter time." HAhahaha! Really? I was there for a summer program in JUNE and it was like 50 degrees and rainy! It's freaking cold up there!
Most people don't know that the city planners of Boston were COWS....The main drags are old cow paths. That is why all the roads are clusterfucked up and you can't get anywhere efficiently....
The only way to get treated fairly at Berklee is if you are a valuable asset to their advertising campaign. Then will will be treated with absolute favoritism.
God I would LOVE to go to berlkee, its my life dream! But this video is so lame hahaha. But dont get me wrong, Im hoping to be there about 2/3 years! Cant wait!!
@runescapeownyawe depends what you do, I did the degree program, if you live on campus and do degree its a bit over 40 thousand a year, if you stay off campus its around 35,000
When I went to Berklee in the late 80's, they had all the freshman cram into the cafeteria for "orientation." Then they wheeled in a huge TV (for the late 80's) and popped in a vhs of "Spinal Tap". By the way, Berklee isn't a scam. It's crazy expensive true, but look at the list of musicians coming out of there. My freshman class...Roy Hargrove, Geoff Keezer, Antonio Hart, Chris Cheek, Julian Joseph, Dwayne Burno to name a few.
Exactly! People flood to this school now just because the members of dream theater attended here. IMO everything offered at berklee are things that you should be able to learn on your own. Nothing special is offered and when you graduate you have nothing to look forward too. The tuition is SHIT! Staying for four years is 250,000 and you can purchase a super car for that price. Best way is do it yourself and that will really determine if you have the skills. Most major artists don't attend school
ha! i went to a state music school and it wasn't very worthwhile. they couldn't afford seperate classes for theory, arranging, composition, aural skills, harmony etc. so they crammed all the subjects into one class and called it "comprehensive musicianship." also, the school couldn't afford to give 4 years of private lessons to anyone except performance majors (most were music ed). i'd think twice before stating that any state music school is better than berklee.
No matter where you go, you're going to get better. Berklee is going to introduce you to a lot of people you're going to want to know if you want to get work as a musician/producer/etc...
best advice i could give to anyone who is thinking of applying for later in the future, is to do the five week program. five week program + heavy winter coat= berklee undergraduate program :P
really cool vid!!! (: thanks! can u tell me the name of the songs? (:

this looks like a video made by a bunch of 14 year olds. not by a high-ranked prestigious university in the united states.

is the music production major more oriented in the enginerering aspects, or the performing aspects of production. . . ? anyone?
TagTeamMusic1 2 years ago
MP&E is focused more on the technical side of the process. Check into the Contemporary Writing & Production major??
berkleevideoservices 2 years ago
@berkleevideoservices does going for that major require an audition and knowledge of knowiwng to play several instruments?
vmeda95 1 month ago
@TagTeamMusic1 yea they don't do so much live sound engineering there, but you'll still learn it.

You should still go to music school if you want to be professional...just don't go to Berklee.

CassieChoirGeek 3 years ago
Try NEC, Manhattan School of Music, or Eastman or any state school's music program even.
