Thanks so much for your superb work in bringing these treasured works in process alive in such a constructive and informative manner. As great and gifted as John was there is no getting away from the fact that as in the case with all of us that hard work and dedication is a vital part of any type of creation.

Real Love never felt properly developed lyrically to me - which of course it wasn't but it was certainly a beautiful melody. I think he'd have come up with better lyrics for this if he'd lived and it could have been a complete classic. I've also thought Nobody Told Me felt a bit forced. It's another song which doesn't sound lyrically like it's properly finished.
Wow, I thought I was the only crazy guy listening all those details and going immerse at the deepest composition process of the Beatles, thanks man, very impressive!
This is a nice insight into a great talent. It makes me feel better about the music I create. I write in the same manner where I have multiple pieces and a lot of my creative time is spent "glueing" them together to create a cohesive piece. It's nice to see a legend like Lennon approach being creative in the same way. It gives me hope that if I too spend just a bit more time with my songs, they too can maybe get from these early stages to a point like the final "Real Love. Thanks again :)
very good man.really loved this video.ive been looking everywhere for a video i watched on youtube in september of john playing REAL LOVE on the piano with yoko standing beside him ,there may have been a fireplace in the backround.can you help.
Thanks! As for your question: there is definitely no video of John playing Real Love on piano. The only video of John playing songs at home from that period is footage from april 1980 which shows him playing Dear Yoko, not on piano, on acoustic guitar.
Great job. Very interesting too. But I've looked everywhere for that Between The Lines CD set and I can't find it anywhere. Why don't you want us to ask you where to get it?
I don't know if anyone recognizes, but at 7:47 the chord progression of this part of the song is nearly an exact reproduction of Paul's "Let It Be" with a minor 4 chord. Indeed, once the verses start he starts using the major, which of course is a direct quote; I wonder if he was thinking of Paul subliminally "Just got to let it go". I'm a big fan.
EXCELLENT WORK, Amazing how Neil Fraudstrong opened up the door to these treasures! This was better than hearing Elliot Mintz running his mouth which was the only time I heard it! You helped to make this easier for everybody.Keep up the great work!
No, that's Juha. I'm Michael, (howdoyousleep? on BZ). We did 'Between the Lines' together and will work on a second edition (a major upgrade) when Chip Madinger's new book is out later in the year.
Great job. Real Love (Beatles version, original speed) is one of the best songs I've ever heard. John was just dripping with genius and there seemed to be no end to it.
