Absolutely amazing video, I loved it! All the guys say we can't do anything they can do just cause we're girls. How we have proved them wrong! Look at Ruffian and Zenyatta. They were both amazing athletes, and they were mares! Ruffian put her heart and soul into racing, and so did Zenyatta. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, really. All that matters is how much effort and heart you put into you work.
As for the comments about comparing Zenyatta to Ruffian, Secretariat, and Rachel Alexander, why not appreciate each horse for what they have accomplished.
God bless Penny Chenery, the owner of Secretariat, for she recognized the greatness of Zenyatta. And she recogized the importance of the fans in creating the Secretariat Vox Populi Award. @rad7610884 I'm on the east coast...and it embaresses me to be honest. I hate the mentality about the west here. I am a HUGE Zenyatta fan(hence my page), but please bare in mind that not everyone on the east coast thinks that way about the west. I loved both horses just btw. =D

To be fair, Ruffian did set or meet track records every time she ran, which Zenyatta did not. It's hard to compare the two though, as they are generations apart and horse racing has come a long way.

NO horses will ever run 2.24 over 1m4, that record is set in stone and will last for eternity. He was the perfect racing machine with the heart twice the size of a normal horse. He was a true one off freak and i dont like to say it because im a euro but in my opinion, he was the greatest horse ever.
And weve had the likes of Sea Bird, Nijinsky, Ribot, Birgadier Gerrard and Dancing Brave to name but a few.
Sec has the greatest claims of any with his triple crown records that cannot be beat.
@cmcgarth1O You are about to cop a dose of So You Think. Coolmore just bought him and O'Brien is to train him for the Arc next year. Should be interesting. I think Secretariat was one of the greats but you could make a case for several horses being as good or better than him. Depends what weighting you place on different aspects that make a horse great.
@schardy80 Id have to disagree, you cant get any better than Secretariat, he was literally a freak of nature. He was blessed with a freak body that was abnormally perfect.
He was a gift from god, and if he ever rides back in to save us from the evil powers that be on earth, you can bet your bottom dollar hell be on Secretariat back.
The true greats of the game, dominated the top open races all season, and where not campaigned to run just 1 big race ie The BC Classic.
Because of this, i cant accept her on the same level as these.
Champions are there to be tested and dominate the best races, not just the fillies division.
Thats why she never won HOTY, RA earned it by a landslide even though we know Zneyatta is a better horse. Its down to the owners to take responsibility for their scared of defeat campaign.
@cmcgarth1O I wouldnt say they were scared in the sense that they didnt think she could win.....I think that as the streak grew they became obsessed with it and so took the path of least resistance most times. I get what you are saying. My instincts as a horse racing devotee screams to me that shes an immortal animal. Again, she could beat anything on her day (which incidentally she never has a real day off hence 100% strike rate), but the issue has been made murkier by her connections.
She has been great for American racing in a publicity sense and bringing screaming women to the track, which some will appreciate more than other im sure, but America longed for a champion and they lapped her up.
I dont know how good she is because she isnt testes enough in a time when the American division is as weak as ive ever known it from top to bottom.
If she was really that good, they would have ran her in Dubai, Hollywood Gold Cup, Pacific Classic and races of that stature.
To say she is the best ever, is an insult to many horses in particular Secretariat.
She never ran in any Classic races and although 13 group 1s and 19 races unbeaten sounds amazing, the substance of the form is no where near what some greats have achieved and thats why I say she is one of the best mares ever, but cannot have her even in the top 30 horses. Not by a long shot.

Every fibre of my being thinks she could beat any horse in history. Yep even Secretariat. He wasnt the Belmont monster every day, and when he wasnt she would be there to roll him. I hope that she wins this Classic and then the rumours about her are true and she doesnt retire. Unfortunately the classic has been made crucial to her legacy
You think she could beat any horse but there is no form lines to prove it.
Its just a feeling and it comes from love of the horse, and i dont blame ppl for loving her, shes a huge beast of a mare and is really exciting to watch.
Secretariat should never have been beaten, he was good enough to go unbeaten but they made a few bad decisions with him. They were only human, the horse was something else. There will never be a horse as good as him.

My eyes and racing knowledge tell me shes astoundingly good. I wont call her the best ever as its too hard to compare, but shes right up there. When you are a swooper and go 19/19 at decent levels then you are truly great.
I dont care if she wins by 5 lengths on Saturday, which wont happen obviously because she can only just beat bad fillied by a head or half a length.
She is 20 levels below Secretariat and anyone who compares her to HIM, probably still believes that your government wasnt involved in 9/11 so good luck to you lost souls.
Back in the real world, Zenyatta is just a great filly, no more than that. She isnt even on the same page as greatest horse ever.

I dont doubt that you know a great horse when you see one, but i stand by my point, that she has not been through the rigours that the horses I see as great have.
Shes had an easy career and im just being firm because i dont throw the term great around. I admit she is a great mare but I have a few fillies above her who have achieved more.
If Zenyatta was unbeatable as is made out, why isnt she in open company all season, like Goldikova.
There will be a movie about this great mare one day, no doubt at all. Lets hope the fairytale ending occurs on Saturday evening! There will be no place to go for the absurd statement makers doubting her greatness should she prevail.
It seems trainers are noticing that horses who struggle in top races in Europe can win big money in America. Horses like Stotsfold, Debussy, and Redwood
These horses are way below top class but they can compete with the best Turf horses in America because its a lower standard and more prizemoney so I see why they do it.
20 years from now, when there's another filly going to run in the breeders cup classic. who are they going to look at who won it already? Not Rachel Alexandra, im sure of that. BUT ZENYATTA
again, Goldikova proved shes better than Paco Boy at Ascot and shes out to prove it again in another top open race. You know why? becaause thats what a champion does, and after all this, she will go and win the breeders cup mile AGAIN and shell do it all again next year, she will end her career with more G1s that Zenyatta in a coutnry were they are far harder to come by and in 1000% more open company, the true superstar mare of the decade after the one and only, the mighty Zarkava
Is it possible, tha maybe, Zenyatta is only entered in races where it is near impossible for her too lose. She may be the champion of Californa, thats is not nearly the world my friends. She is a victim of her rulers, by not being campaigned as if she is the best, if your the best, you run in the historic races that ALL the past greats ran in. Im not going to change the rules, or history for one horse because she is likeable. I like champions to be tested and the prove there champions.
I suppose I just need to listen to the emotion of others, and let that override my need for logic? Now lets think about 17 for 0 for one second, and ask ourselfs, what does that really mean. Right she has won 17 races as a 6yo from 17 runs right. But what does it really prove just on the face of it? IMO American racing has not been strong for the last 2 years, yet Zenyatta is still found easy races in the same state. Why is that? Could they be trying to protect something?

@Horses4ever8 12 races in top open company is far more than 17 in fillies, they dont need to run every 3 wekks but a bare minimum of 3 or 4 top races a season and that is a severly bare minimum. Most real quality fillies get retired at 3 now but Goldikova will be out doing it at 6 in open company AGAIN beating the best all season AGAIN next year, shes unbeatabkle at a mile and isnt scared to go and prove it anytime, infact shes out again to take on the best mile colt in the world on sunday,
I wonder if she had been say, running in the best races all season for the last two years instead of running 99% of the season at odds of 1/4, would she still be unbeaten? Rip Van Winkle didnt run his race, the fact that he destroyed Twice Over again this yaer tells you that he didnt run his race in America. Ginger Punch was a good filly but again, nothing special. And Life Is Sweet? cmon....
Rachel might not have beat much but it was the top races that she won, Classic races and in open company. I believe Zenyatta is the better of the two, but RA more than deserved HOTY

Ginger Punch was considered the better filly back when Zenyatta raced her. and LIS did race in the HGC if im not mistaken. Same could be said about rip van winkle, he was dominate over in europe at the time.

Sure she has been conservatively managed but shes hardly Peppers Pride. 13 G1's undefeated is not to be sneezed at, even if many of them were weak G1's. This is fabulous! The Legendary Zenyatta deserves no less. Hopefully people will come to realize all shes accomplished. People always find reasons to knock a horse,with Zenyatta though...that's pretty difficult to do.

To be fair, Ruffian did set or meet track records every time she ran, which Zenyatta did not. It's hard to compare the two though, as they are generations apart and horse racing has come a long way.

NO horses will ever run 2.24 over 1m4, that record is set in stone and will last for eternity. He was the perfect racing machine with the heart twice the size of a normal horse. He was a true one off freak and i dont like to say it because im a euro but in my opinion, he was the greatest horse ever.
And weve had the likes of Sea Bird, Nijinsky, Ribot, Birgadier Gerrard and Dancing Brave to name but a few.
Sec has the greatest claims of any with his triple crown records that cannot be beat.

I think Secretariat was one of the greats but you could make a case for several horses being as good or better than him. Depends what weighting you place on different aspects that make a horse great.

The true greats of the game, dominated the top open races all season, and where not campaigned to run just 1 big race ie The BC Classic.
Because of this, i cant accept her on the same level as these.
Champions are there to be tested and dominate the best races, not just the fillies division.
Thats why she never won HOTY, RA earned it by a landslide even though we know Zneyatta is a better horse. Its down to the owners to take responsibility for their scared of defeat campaign.

@cmcgarth1O I wouldnt say they were scared in the sense that they didnt think she could win.....I think that as the streak grew they became obsessed with it and so took the path of least resistance most times. I get what you are saying. My instincts as a horse racing devotee screams to me that shes an immortal animal. Again, she could beat anything on her day (which incidentally she never has a real day off hence 100% strike rate), but the issue has been made murkier by her connections.

She has been great for American racing in a publicity sense and bringing screaming women to the track, which some will appreciate more than other im sure, but America longed for a champion and they lapped her up.
I dont know how good she is because she isnt testes enough in a time when the American division is as weak as ive ever known it from top to bottom.
If she was really that good, they would have ran her in Dubai, Hollywood Gold Cup, Pacific Classic and races of that stature.

To say she is the best ever, is an insult to many horses in particular Secretariat.
She never ran in any Classic races and although 13 group 1s and 19 races unbeaten sounds amazing, the substance of the form is no where near what some greats have achieved and thats why I say she is one of the best mares ever, but cannot have her even in the top 30 horses. Not by a long shot.

Every fibre of my being thinks she could beat any horse in history. Yep even Secretariat. He wasnt the Belmont monster every day, and when he wasnt she would be there to roll him. I hope that she wins this Classic and then the rumours about her are true and she doesnt retire. Unfortunately the classic has been made crucial to her legacy

Its just a feeling and it comes from love of the horse, and i dont blame ppl for loving her, shes a huge beast of a mare and is really exciting to watch.
Secretariat should never have been beaten, he was good enough to go unbeaten but they made a few bad decisions with him. They were only human, the horse was something else. There will never be a horse as good as him.

My eyes and racing knowledge tell me shes astoundingly good. I wont call her the best ever as its too hard to compare, but shes right up there. When you are a swooper and go 19/19 at decent levels then you are truly great.

I dont care if she wins by 5 lengths on Saturday, which wont happen obviously because she can only just beat bad fillied by a head or half a length.
She is 20 levels below Secretariat and anyone who compares her to HIM, probably still believes that your government wasnt involved in 9/11 so good luck to you lost souls.

Shes had an easy career and im just being firm because i dont throw the term great around. I admit she is a great mare but I have a few fillies above her who have achieved more.
If Zenyatta was unbeatable as is made out, why isnt she in open company all season, like Goldikova.

These horses are way below top class but they can compete with the best Turf horses in America because its a lower standard and more prizemoney so I see why they do it.

Is it possible, tha maybe, Zenyatta is only entered in races where it is near impossible for her too lose. She may be the champion of Californa, thats is not nearly the world my friends. She is a victim of her rulers, by not being campaigned as if she is the best, if your the best, you run in the historic races that ALL the past greats ran in. Im not going to change the rules, or history for one horse because she is likeable. I like champions to be tested and the prove there champions.

I suppose I just need to listen to the emotion of others, and let that override my need for logic? Now lets think about 17 for 0 for one second, and ask ourselfs, what does that really mean. Right she has won 17 races as a 6yo from 17 runs right. But what does it really prove just on the face of it? IMO American racing has not been strong for the last 2 years, yet Zenyatta is still found easy races in the same state. Why is that? Could they be trying to protect something?

@Horses4ever8 12 races in top open company is far more than 17 in fillies, they dont need to run every 3 wekks but a bare minimum of 3 or 4 top races a season and that is a severly bare minimum. Most real quality fillies get retired at 3 now but Goldikova will be out doing it at 6 in open company AGAIN beating the best all season AGAIN next year, shes unbeatabkle at a mile and isnt scared to go and prove it anytime, infact shes out again to take on the best mile colt in the world on sunday,

I wonder if she had been say, running in the best races all season for the last two years instead of running 99% of the season at odds of 1/4, would she still be unbeaten? Im thinking of the great horses of the past, who beat other horses who went on to prove their greatness, you know, like beating other greats so to speak. Rip Van Winkle didnt run his race, the fact that he destroyed Twice Over again this yaer tells you that he didnt run his race in America. Ginger Punch was a good filly but again, nothing special. And Life Is Sweet? cmon....
Rachel might not have beat much but it was the top races that she won, Classic races and in open company. I believe Zenyatta is the better of the two, but RA more than deserved HOTY

The last few years Europes best horses havent been sent the BC like New Approach, Zarkava and Sea The Stars.
Good horses like Ravens Pass, Henrythnav, Conduit and Rip Van Winkle have been sent but they werent our best horses.

Sure she has been conservatively managed but shes hardly Peppers Pride. 13 G1's undefeated is not to be sneezed at, even if many of them were weak G1's. Whether she could or couldnt have beaten a Zarkava or STS is pure speculation.

This is fabulous! The Legendary Zenyatta deserves no less. Hopefully people will come to realize all shes accomplished. People always find reasons to knock a horse,with Zenyatta though...that's pretty difficult to do.

Screw that, Zenyatta has every chance against the boys! Zenyatta is the best racer out there and she's better than all those boys! She can outrace any horse out there! Hehe, Zenyatta is always my favorite racing mare. Loved the video! ^^

This is amazing! The timing and music is perfect I got chills! I think they need to make a movie about Zenyatta. She is reminiscent of Ruffian and I feel we need a movie about a racehorse that doesn't end in tragedy lol! Rambling
