  • damn u make the guitar sing....what amp are u using plugged into

  • I got a yairi i got a yairi woo woo

  • I like the time honored way that Master Yairi builds his guitars !!! Check out his factory tour video and you will see what I mean. Truly hand made with care. I've seen the Taylor factory tour and they have a guy in the video that acts like he's in a drag race to put the prefabricated braces on with white glue. Taylors are punched out cookies compared to Yairi. Now that I see how Yairis are made, I will buy one and avoid the Taylors.

Yairi's are truly a bargain for a hand made guitar.

  • There's a nine string Yairi for sale on ebay. Do they still make those?

  • You should check before you make broad statements. This guitatr, which I own, IS a Masterworks Yari, handmade in Japan with solid rosewood back and sides and a spruce top. It blew away a room full of many times more expensive Martins (some of which were constructed from plywood laminates) and other high-end acoustics. For the price is would be difficult to find a better instrument.

  • I dont see the inlays dots of the neck.

  • i am the original owner of an 86 dy 75 and have not found out what wood is it or is it laminate or solid its in near perfect cond and i love the sound for its rich bassy base .i weould love to get my hands on a yw1000 or 800 with brazilian rosewood but dont know if its solid wood or laminate could someone pls educate me thanking you in advance

  • @localguy8 Laminate. IRW ....all Yairi guitars are laminate unless you get a Masterworks or Custom order from St. Louis Music. (also some VERY early Yairi guitars were solid wood B&S...very RARE and sought after...they have to usually be drilled thru the wood to tell the diff....also Yairi occasionally patched laminate pieces together for the inside of the backs...and if you look close you can sometimes see this.

  • @localguy8 Kazuo Yairi purposely went with a laminate body. You really need to check out his factory tour here on youtube to appreciate the craftsmanship. There are some distinct advantages - namely that a lam body is less sensitive to changes in humidity and does not crack as easily if you were to smack the corner of your coffee table. The most critical part of a guitar is the top which should be solid (All Yairi models are). The bracing is also a critical factor.

  • @localguy8 Yours has rosewood laminate back and sides. I have a DY-75 from 1983 and it has a beautiful sound.

  • how much ???????????

  • @lncomplete In New Zealand it has a RRP of $2695 - am unsure of other countries

  • I work in a music shop, have access to Larivee, Blueridge, Martin, Maton, and plenty other top end brands

I chose this guitar over many others because it is simply beautifull

if anyone is considering this guitar you will not be sorry

  • i like the pickup

  • does anyone know how much this guitar is worth? i just bought one today for 50 bucks

  • @TheKaylub WHAT?! 50 dollars? depends what model, whats the model? but congrats dude , i dont think alvarez go for that cheap.

  • @8goong yeah dude its deffinately an alvarez, the model is AD62SC. It was given to one of my buds and he didnt want it to me so he sold it to me, he said it was worth $1,000! and i got it for fifty just cause we are good friends

  • @TheKaylub OH my goodness congrats with that!@ you wont ever regret it, for the price and value, i wanted to find a k yairi yw 1000, i friend got it for 800AUD and it soudns super super good with elixir phosphor bronze, i ususally play folk and fingerpicking gypsy stuff on dreadnoughts! nice one dude!

  • @TheKaylub

I doubt its a yairi. It would probably be a basic model, but I like those too. They're good.

  • Too bad the Yairis are so expensive. The cheaper Alvarez are nothing special...

  • Marty Mcfly lol

  • OMG the sound quality is AMAZING!

  • Ship this guitar over to me in England while i test it for myself

  • bought used alvarez md-70 a few weeks age serial# f406020239 and on inside of neck #0403020683. could someone give me some info on this guitar. im just begining to play and this thing has incredible sound.

  • I have a WY-1SB model that was built in I think '92. I acquired it in '04 and have been in love ever since.

  • I've owned five Yairi guitars. Every one of them has been superlative. Kasuo Yairi-sama designs and builds the very best Japanese guitar. Never mind this guy with his pickup demo. The guitar itself is where the magic is. I am now a guitar builder, and it is my deepest heartbreak that I only have one Yairi left in my collection. It's a DY 57 dreadnaught, a very special instrument. I will leave this guitar to my young nephew when I am done here. Blessings to Master Yairi Kasuo. -edwinson

  • nice

     yairi

  • i love this guitar ! i hope i can have an alvarez guitar! cool!

  • Can you please post a video of you playing Johnny B. Good, please?

    That would be classic!

  • hey guts. i have a alvarex guitar 5065. any1 know how much its worth?

  • Google yairi_luvr, there's a Yahoo group where you can get your answer.

  • That's an older model from the early 70s. Probably worth around $500.

  • thsi guy only reviews the plugged in sounds for acoustics. the unplugged soudn matters too!!

  • true enough, but its an alvarez...itll sound great

  • @StephenRTobias That - if not more.

  • is there any way i can get this guitar without spending a crazy amount of money?

  • lane512 ...I have seen a few of these go on ebay at a reasonable price . I have one and I really like it. Good luck ! Chris

  • nope, but even the cheapest alvarez guitars blow away most of their competition. IMO the top 3 are alvarez, martin, and taylor. not in any particular order.

  • i own a Alvarez now a Yairi is the future

  • These sound even better in person! I've got the DYM95V with the slotted head, GREAT guitar!

  • michael j. fox.

  • Yeah it would be nice to know where he picked up those licks. I enjoy watching his videos, his style is wonderful.

    Great Job Paul!

  • that aura sound sweet... i gotta find something like that for my mando

  • What the song he's playing at the very beginning?

  • dang thats a clean sound

ooo i like this guitar =]

  • if you want a really sweet alvarez you have to get a 12 string they sound amazing

  • !!!!I need that rightnoww!!!!! I payed 350 for a acoustic alverez and I love it could use little action work but the warm tone I get out of it is amazing!!!

  • What's the song he's playing when he says he is "straight out strumming it"?

  • Thats what I'd like to know too. Can anyone shed light on this?

  • bon jovi wanted dead or alive

  • is that michael j fox?

  • wow what a fantastic question

  • haha I was just thinking is this Michael J Fox too! lmfao.

  • thats not how you pronounce yairi.

  • I just bought the DYM95..No electronics. Its hands down the nicest acoustic guitar I have ever played.

  • I want to buy a guitar but idk where to find one..

    --Kassidy

  • They have lots of them on ebay. I have several I bought on ebay. Every once in a while you can get a real steal.

    I have a PD100, 5086, 5056, Dy54 and a DY90. For comfortable playing, the Alvarez5086 sleeps with me.

  • Very nice.

  • RITCHIE BLACKMORES CHOICE

  • I've got a 1986 Alvarez Yairi DY-76 Herringbone 12-String. It doesn't have a pickup in it, but it's an amazing playing and sounding guitar.

Also, I've played a lot of the inexpensive Alvarez' as well like the RD-20S. They're great for their price point.

  • i got a cheaper alvarez about a year ago and i love it. only payed 600 and the electronics are amazing.

    MONTE MONTGOMERY BITCHES!!!!

  • they are definately awesome guitars. i bought one on e-bay for 150 dollars and it sounds great! not as good as a martin or taylor of course, but amazing for the price!

  • I think Alvarez makes better guitars than Martin and Taylor both. The Yairi's are inredible.

  • @CodyAllenmusic i agree, i think because of the fact that they are handcrafted rather than created with machines.

  • Great tone and playing

  • I picked up a DYM95C without the aura yesterday and I must say it plays great sounds great and looks great.Very happy with this instrument.Great balance and projection. The acoustic tone and amplified tone are both great. This is one of those guitars that are hard to put away once you pick it up.

    Chris

  • I have the Alvarez RD20SC and it's overtones and ease of play and sound are as good as any $1000 acoustics I have played, and it was around $250. Simply unique, worth way more to me than $250, and I've even had a chance to play one of Bob Dylan's old Acoustic guitars before!

Alvarez= You simply can't go wrong at any price-point.

THEY REALLY ARE AMAZING! Do yourself a favor and buy one, I guarantee you'll fall in love with that thing EVERY TIME it's in your arms!

    ~A Newbie Alvarez Fan.

  • You have any Idea how much one of those costs? I am looking into buying one.

  • $2,649.99 is the best price I could find for it, but after playing at a local music store I would have to say that it is totaly worth it. It is an absolutely beautiful guitar and the pickups are absolutly amazing and the body is godly so it feeds back very easy. I reccomend that you buy a VERY NICE acoustic amplifier if you buy this guitar because a $200 amp with a Line 6 Pod just won't cut it. I recomend that you but a Fishman Acoustic Combo Amp as a minimum for this totaly amazing guitar.

  • I have been playing an Alvarez Yairi DY90 for 18 years and have never played a guitar I like better. Sure, I love the depth of an HD-28 or the sparkle of a 715ce, but nothing overall can compare. And amplified with a Fishman pickup running through their Aura system is breathtaking.

  • Great guitars. I like Alvarez more than Taylors or Gibsons. I just bought a Alvarez dreadnot today and it sounds so damn good and I only paid $320 bucks for it brand new at Music go Round. If you want a great sounding guitar for a fair price go with an Alvarez. I think they sound better than most1,000 guitars like Martin taylor or Gibson. They just flat out sound great.

  • Ok it arived, best damn guitar I ever had. Just brilliant.

  • I've got a black DY88, too (and am using it on my videos). I completely agree! Best damn guitar EVER! =) =)

  • I've recently bought Yari DY 88 stage acoustuc, the black one without any soundhole, still waiting for it and I can't wait.

  • Alvarez Yairi guitars are the best in the world. I've got a '72 and haven't been able to find another one like it.

  • this video makes me proud to play an alvarez

  • same, even though mine was probably 1/4th the price.

  • He seems pissed in this video.

  • Great demo.

What's great is he plays the same riff/pattern with the different Aura settings, 'bout time someone did.

    Thanks!

  • when he says alvarez yairi at the start it sounds like hes drunk :P

  • this guys good as at improvising =)

  • I just picked up a sighned 1979 Yairi DY-50 Limited edition #031 0f 900. If anyone has any info on these fine guitars it would be appreciated...Peace!

  • I have a dy-53 from 1990. So sweet! Yairi's kick ass....Taylors and Martins are great if you pay $8,000 for one. Breedloves are pretty nice too.

  • Alvarez Yairi = the shit I have two

  • Hey man, I sent you a vid response that shows off the sound of Alvarez guitars. I am a big fan of these guitars, good job... Thanks

  • the normal pickup sounds way better than the blendin thing

  • ive been looking everywhere for that pickup system.any 1 know where i can find it?

  • I really like Paul and his demos, but his shirt - does he have a day job as a Park Ranger?

Keep posting these demos, Paul rocks!
