Uno degli ultimi veri giganti ancora in vita, splendido musicista e splendido essere umano, Pharoah ascoltandoti mi piace pensare che Coltrane è morto ma la sua vita è servita a qualcosa per altri.
I have read somewhere that Pharoah isn't good anymore now, but that is some serious misinformation! By seeing these videos and seeing him live, I can easily conclude that he is still amazing, and definitely underrated.
this is song just insn't the same with the tenor. coltrane on the soprano in the original album gave the song a free spirited atmosphere. I definately think Sanders is amazing though.
This is great. Thanks for posting this video...I've never listen to P.Sanders'music before, this is the first time and I LOVE it!!! Great, thanks a lot!!!
Sanders never got over the fact he blew the most insanely genius shit ever with Coltrane 65-67, and after a while, nobody gave a fuck anymore. They can't even give the guy a Macarthur Genius Grant.
Never before did I think I'd every see anyone say that the Red Hot Chili Peppers were more skilled than Pharoah Sanders. Okay. Where to start?! Statements like that atest to the fact that there ARE in fact ignorant and uninformed people walking among us.
R.H.C.P more complex and intense??.Please don't make us all laugh.Kiddin'?.People like Pharoah and Trane don't have anything to do with that shit.Their thing is just another level.
In reality, Pharoah Sanders is most likely at least an indirect hero of RHCP's. They are big fans of jazz, funk, and soul music. Still, though, pretty loaded comment; that'll teach you to troll the web.
"My fav things" is one of the few tunes associated with Trane forever, it is such an emotion to listen toPharoah pay tribute to his mentor and friend, these both guys are legends, thanks to Pharoah I miss Trane a bit less...GOD BLESS

Yeah, don't believe it. I saw him a few months ago at the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles and it was one of the three best shows I've ever seen.

There comes a time when your mind passes your body. Pharaoh is still great, but he's human (I think) so, his body is losing it.

Catch the quote "Out of this world" 1:43, a piece Sanders used to perform with Trane (listen to live in Seatle) -- Melts the heart!
