Hey its the NON UNION captial of the USA! Its BUsheconomics 101 and MCbushMcCain NAFTA global no jobs for the usa state. How many RRs would like to work ina state that hates unions, blue collar, military hard working families.
Mine too! It used to be on the NP North Coast Limited line...
My town is crooked because of the NP! They changed the route through town in the 1920's and left all the streets at an angle.... Google Maps/Earth "56549"
I am from Canada but my dad and I go down to minnesota to watch Justin Morneau and the twins. We once went to Newport to watch CP and Newly formed BNSF it was 1999 since i last railfanned at the twin cities. Unreal Action. I have to get this one.
i grew up in this area,as a child in the 80s,if I would have had a video camera I`d bet I would have gotten some great stuff on film. my relatives got them on 35mm film though.
AWESOME!! Finally, a Minnesota Video!! I am a NATIVE Minnesotan and the Twin Cities is a GREAT place to railfan!! Nice to see it when the BN/SF, SOO/CP, UP/CNW, and UP/Sp merges. Great Video!! This is going to be a DEFFINATE buy!!
It's not the first one. I purchased one VHS 14 years ago, dedicated to Twin Cities railroading. It was from a local producer. I found it at a railroad model store.

At 1:33, what are the round things on the enginexhaustacks (engine exhaust stacks)?
Spark catchers?
How do they work?
Thank you.

This video production is a real ace. Minneapolis while cold as blue blazes during the winter is known for more then just lakes.
I've got this video and I really enjoy seeing the archival footage of the classic NW2s, SW1500s, and old Soo power of yesteryear.
This video is one of my favorites for sure.
