  • Thank you for sharing the song link to Amazon. I have been looking for this piece of music since 1992. OMG! Thank you so much. You just made me so incredibly happy. Yippee!!!!!! ☺

I have watched my video copy of the '92 Olympics over and over again. Midori's performance brings tears to my eyes...even to this day.

I was lucky enough to meet her back in the 90's. She was humble, shy and sweet.

    Memories! Thank you again.

  • BEST jumper in the history of women's skating. First to land a triple-triple, first to land a triple axel, first to land all 6 triples...WOW. She truly is one to remember and look up to for doing great things for this sport.

  • Flawed, desperate, and unspeakably thrilling. The breakneck pace just leads up to the second triple axel which is done so beautifully and so in perfect time with the music that the breath chokes off.

By the way, this may still be the most difficult technical program ever tried, especially once the speed is factored in.

  • @arsoys this is the greatest comment to this routine that I have ever read. you have essentially summed up the emotional weight of this moment. Midori: eternal: forever. And they said she was weak "artistically". starting at 3:20 you can veritably sense her soul and fate joining hands. this routine could stop wars.

  • Not the same without Scott Hamilton and Peggy Flemming commentating. Although Midori's Skating doesn't even need any sound at all..............Hamilton made it much more exciting with his enthusiasm!

  • Real triple axel

  • Midori really pulled herself together here, but got the silver medal ONLY...I do not live in Japan, but have read a lot about life there, so understand that this was probably a disgrace. Midori, from a Western Hemisphere, and European point of view, had nothing to be ashamed of, but Japan is different. I respect that, but cannot fully relate to this assessment. The Japanese media hounded her relentlessly leading up to, and continuing into the Olympics. So much expected of her...tragic.

  • I guess your prediction was wrong. Mao landed her 3 ax

  • Watching her skate is like seeing a fawn in a forest...just so majestic and in her element.

  • God, the HEIGHT! The SPEED! What an amazing athlete. I cannot believe that not only she threw the 3A *again* (which took incredible guts) but that she threw it that late in her program and went that high! On all her jumps she looks like she's going to land in the stands, she's so high. Truly an inspiration.

  • @NYCBlonde Yeah. And plus, that late in a program can be SOOO tiring! She is AMAZING! I agree with you so much!

  • I've always remembered her - she's wicked:)

  • I agree. I never heard this commentary before. She was a natural, truly one of the greats. Great music, great movies, and a shock of a triple axel. One of the greatest who ever lived.

  • Wonderful ! I can watch this program a thousand times. I like it so much. It lifts me higher and higher!!!

The music is beautiful. Midori is so beautiful, so graceful, yet powerful. Unforgetable performance!

We love you Midori !!! You inspire us!

  • I have not,either!!

I am happy to see this version!!

it is a moving moment as well!!

  • Thanks so much for putting this. I never heard the canadian commentary before! What guts to do the 3axel so late!
