  • im thanking my uncle tony for introducing me to punk rock. CUZ ITS FUCKN AWESOME (:

  • iggy and i are both from ann arbor... i feel awesome

  • hi , how are you...how much...oh just the music then...well you sound good so what you want...

  • @OnChea you need: hair, young neck, and the right mood to nod to this

  • Top comment will probably be about Search and destroy on COD

  • the short era between rock n' roll and hardcore punk is awesome

  • He's penetrating my mind!

  • if someone doesn't know these lyrics by heart , its fuckin over.

get out of my car , get out of my life.

  • @dirksnider This man speaks the truth

  • Omfg god Iggy, it's been way too long since I've heard this one... Iggy... BABY.... THANK YOU!

  • im a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm

  • 16 people don't like this song

  • 16 were searched and destroyed!

  • steve zissou

  • this is my favorite Stooges song.

  • Not sure is ChuckHilter is a troll....but pretty sure.... lol...so chill everyone. Constantly i see these internet arguments over what music is or why someone sucks blah blah. who the fuck cares honestly. these are all opinions, everyone is entitled to one. get on with your own lives. someone else said youtube should disable comments all together, i agree.

  • @324545557 Then I'd feel alone lsitening to this great music, I like seeing others commenting on songs I also enjoy It I'm all like "yeh somewhere out in this mainstream digital world there are people who enjoy good music with soul & meaing"

  • @324545557 I was trolling. I was trying to make a point. I always see this in punk videos....bunch of ignorant and overly-opinionated retards like, "this is real music better than that pop/rap/scene/ shit, etc, etc." THAT'S narrow-minded. Why compare genres if you clearly are particular to one and abhor the other. You're talking out of your ass unless you've actually given every genre/style a try--an EXTENSIVE try. Which I have. EVERYTHING...even the "pop shit" is "good" in way or another.

  • @ChuckHitler damn. You have my respect.

  • @ChuckHitler "You're talking out of your ass unless you've actually given every genre/style a try" Everything means EVERY sub-genre within every genre. I HIGHLY doubt you have listened to this much, EXTENSIVELY. But when you do, your arguments will be validated accordingly :).

  • @SwagBite Haha... no. I said that wrong. What I meant is you shouldn't say X is better than Y unless you've listened to X and Y extensively (not EVERYTHING extensively). It would take a loooong time to litereally give every genre a try , let alone every sub-genre. I've listened to A LOT...but not everything. Still though, I dont bash anything I havent heard, which is more than I can say for most people...just look at the first few comments on any punk video... :/

  • I'M A STREET WALKING CHEATER WITH A HEART FULL OF NAPLAM JUST LIKE KURT COBAIN, NIKKI SIXX AND SID VICIOUS! ARE YOU?!

  • U.States use raw punk and feed intellectual opposition to make us all think in American ethical standards and beliefs. Your poetry is poisoned and infiltrated by lies and we won't trust a single word of your freaked sons no more. We will push the "like" button just because you are watching us.

  • @mnop7877

You're thinking of country music, not punk.

  • @mnop7877 dude shut the fuck up. PUNK Rock is just Punk Rock, no subliminal shit goin on. i agree with @deekante its alll fucking country music.

  • @krisforrowan2010 i was just saying i'd like an overaggressive form of american punk movement. I loved stooges for years, as well as other punk and hardcore bands, but i have to admit that all that stuff counted zero. I don't think it was just a matter of music and feelings, i think it was a stand. Trends had the right idea in molding most of the musical production into a pointless ego demonstration. There's a poison going on.

  • this is my first real listen to the stooges. i have listened to about 3 songs so far and im not getting this "proto-punk" label. this shit is every bit as wild, angsty, powerful, and punk as the sex pistols or the ramones. for my money, id say these guys are the black sabbath of punk.

  • @TheCoolerObv @jorts900 It's well known that the mix on this record is horrid, the bass is non-existant and the drums are barely audible

  • Comment removed

  • Fantastic song, too bad it sounds like it was mixed out of my asshole

  • @andrewburton12345678 It's punk. It's not always meant to be pretty and shouldn't give a fuck if it is.

  • Comment removed

  • Original. Very few others can claim that.

  • Great song to play when I'm blasting away n00bz on MW3.

  • @wweadx2 SAME! XD

  • Can't believe all the bitchy argumentative comments on this. Stooges kick ass. Bowie kicks ass. Bowie loved American music but not America. Iggy loved British style but safe to say he loved being a noisy fucked up American. Also MC5 are harsh good!

  • YYYEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • i first heard Emanuel's cover of this and my GOD i love this song!!!i really like the rawness of this version a lot

  • this still sounds awesome almost 40 years later

  • This is pure fucking musical gold

  • Give the artist credit for this musical creation. however i think some credit should come my way for being a 90's born fan. shows how such an underrated song within the world of music can be recognised by the 'delinquent youth'.

  • @zcb12345 shut the fuck up, I was born in the 90's too but we don't deserve shit just for liking the song/band just cos they're not from our time.

  • @RoryBazterd93 no your right, we dont deserve credit, and i dont like this song. this was my fucking dipshit brother who thinks it well funny to do this sort of thing as he is a (''badman rnb listener''). so yh fair point. however the degree you have got your little self worked up to is unjustified you sad little boy, and you should get a hysterectomy you fucking dippy motherfucker and stop crying.

  • @zcb12345 hmm, you seem to be the one getting worked up "little boy". Watch your language or I'll not bring you out for ice cream young man.

  • Iggy and The Stooges! Thanks for the upload!

  • Thumbs up if you're thinking of a drunken Sawyer right now.

  • This is good, but not Since U Been Gone good, right Rolling Stone?

  • Fuckin love this song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why is Punk related videos always full of ignorant fucks, who bash other bands or singers??? Seriously, shut the fuck up and listen to the music! -__-'

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10 Seriously... "im so cool cause i listen to real punk like the stooges and the misfits and sex pistols. _____ and _____ suck!!! i have my "real punk" certificate to prove it. check out my channel to see what real punk is, because I am it. did i mention how punk i am?"

  • @ChuckHitler HAHA..."Do you have your scene card? If not you're not allowed in." Never understood that mindset. It's music, pure and simple.

  • @ChuckHitler calling yourself a punk fan there! when your saying that the stooges, the misfits, and the sex pistols suck?!your a real narrow minded fuckhead and just as much an asshole with your last name hitler

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10 YouTube should disable comments all together...

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10 sowwie if we offenedded u

  • @Brollyhero93TOP10 they just wanna feel smart and wise

  • This is like the best channel ever.

  • Fuck Bowie, the Stooges rock!!...or punk xD OI!!!

  • @momo98ful Why even bother comparing glam rock to punk rock? Besides Bowie & Iggy Pop were good friends. "The Gene Genie" was a song Bowie wrote about Iggy.

  • @waalaman OK...but in the music way punk rock is much better than glam rock. I don't have anything against Bowie as a dude but i just say that i like Iggy much more when it comes to music

  • @waalaman Dude I totally agree that glam rock blows compared to punk! Any good recommendations for punk bands? I just got into a band called the White Wires. Thanks for the reply!

  • @waalaman

    are you a retard ?

  • @klemx99 Yes I'm a huge fucking retard & obviously you're one too considering you couldn't figure that out by yourself. ;)

  • @waalaman You heard of The Partisans right?

  • @waalaman The Clash,best punk band ever

  • @Fyrus2k7 they are not punk by a long shot man.

  • @Fyrus2k7 I disagree.. The stooges, best punk band ever..

  • This song is just absolutely fantastic! It has to be played LOUD! Attitude and a good composition! Perfect.

  • Personally, I like the Iggy mix a lot better than the Bowie mix. It sounds a lot more fierce and trebly. I like that. I'm not saying YOU have to, but I do.

  • The first 6 seconds is, in my opinion, the most exciting opening in rock and roll.

  • VH1 Nº 49 LIST 100 HARD ROCK FOREVER

  • Detroit kiss ass

  • Somewhere Lester Bangs Is Smiling

  • @SouthwestRanger omg that comment just made my day. long live lester and iggy :)

  • Wow. Punk war on the comment board. Why am I not surprised. I love GOOD music who gives a shit where it's from?

  • Fuck UK. Fuck New York. Punk, in the sense of hard hitting, kickass, straight foward, no bullshit rock n roll, started in MICHIGAN!

  • @NIKKGAGE1994 In a way you're right. The first was really the Velvet Underground but after that, up until the New York Dolls and Ramones, it was all Detroit! MC5, Stooges, Frost, Grand Funk...

  • ouch. I love this song so much, but the mix is too loud!

  • You can all complain all you like but one thing is for certain. The Stooges played, got laid and lived the rockstar life. Haters only got youtube and a comment box full of envy.

  • The Stooges, the Misfists, Ramones, Black Flag, Does punk get any better than American punk rock? NYC was the birth place...we did it harder, louder, and faster than anyone!!!

  • @estroud76 it's funny cause, of all the bands you mentioned, only Ramones were from NY haha

  • it sounds raw, ergo: RAW POWER! duh

  • Whoever put this out is genius.

  • Kind of hard to understand comments these days, they're all relplies

  • Check out my cover of this at my site. youtubeDOTcom/morbidmanmusic

  • If you don't like the way this sounds, go see a doctor, you may have a rare disorder called LACK OF TESTICLES. It's supposed to be ludicrously, ear-rapingly loud. Iggy made this mix himself.

This is SUPPOSED to make the Bowie mix sound like elevator music.

This is SUPPOSED to make any heavy metal band look like a bunch of pussies.

    This is THE FUCKING STOOGES.

  • @Epson824 So I went to the doctor. Turns out women don't have testicles. Who knew?!

  • Best song ever.

  • I bought this album when I was 11 years old. It was the first album my father yelled at me to shut off. From that point on, I knew I was on to something

  • Skunk version so much better.

  • @mcraregreat234543 I thought it was abit shit to be honest.

  • @Sam5726 well, whatever you like, music is art and its open to interpretation by anybody, plus i like skunks epic melody that goes with it.

  • HEY SLAYTANIC....FIRST PUNK BAND OR WHAT? PEOPLE I KNOW GIVE CREDIT TO BOWIE....FUCK THAT! MICHIGAN... NOT THE UK.. STOOGES...MC5...COMMENT PLEASE

  • @1234HELLBOUND Definitely one of them.

  • @1234HELLBOUND you are right brother but we had the Kinks. First punk guitar riff. ;)

  • @1234HELLBOUND I give credit to The Stooges, Bowie and the Velvet Underground. Without each of them It never would've existed.

  • @1234HELLBOUND bowie definately wasnt punk, its gotta be the stooges!

  • @1234HELLBOUND dont forget SUICIDE

  • @1234HELLBOUND New York Dolls & The Ramones too

  • @1234HELLBOUND Bowie ain't punk.

  • @1234HELLBOUND Somebody gave credit to Bowie for the original punk band? WTF? I like/love Bowie, but he's really not punk. What about the Sex Pistols though? They're pretty original punk.

  • @1234HELLBOUND well if they're giving credit to bowie it's because he is probably the reason iggy pop is still alive. after funhouse the stooges broke up and iggy was deep in heroin addiction. bowie liked their work and helped iggy get clean, reform the stooges, and then get a deal with colombia records so they could make raw power. bowie didn't really produce it so much as he helped mix it. however, if he hadn't used his influence in the way he did the world would never have had this album

  • @newfuckingwave well i wouldnt say bowie got iggy clean as such...he was after all a raging coke head. But he got iggy off smack which is quite a feat believe me lol

  • @sparkupnchill lmfao incredible any work got done between the two of them (and what work it was . . .)

  • @1234HELLBOUND Fucking MC5 yes yes yse yse

  • @1234HELLBOUND these guys were doing this shit way before the fucking sex pistols

  • @1234HELLBOUND

go cry in a hole waa waa waa

  • 1:21 Feel Raw Power

  • Warning: If you are an average human being, hippie, jock, prep, stoner or a fan of pop music, your ear pussies will rupture before you even get to the first verse.

  • Get this: Green Day is now the kings of punk. Total bullshit 'cause they soldout and were better in the early 90s. Even then, they still can't be truly worty to be the kings. Thumbs up for those who believe Iggy deserves to be crowned king of punk.

  • @FireFightWrestling Everyone knows Iggy is, lets be honest, even those faggots

  • @FireFightWrestling Iggy cant be the king of punk AND sell out to car insurance companies

  • @mmscott9 Everyone needs to earn some sort of income, Iggy sells car insurance. Nothing wrong with it.

  • @MrPubertyBeard Thats funny he sells insurance, one of the biggest swindles ever. I bet his chorus now is "Sorry we dont cover that"

  • @FireFightWrestling Hi, Kevin.

  • @AssassinJ2 WAZZZZZZAAAAAAAAPPPPPPP!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! You wanna come over tomorrow? I'l call you in the morning. I'm thinking of a band practoce tomorrow. Whatever. I'll call you. PS, Look up Emo sucks. Then go to the song. I have an Idea, let's turn Alec into a member of the the never ending anarchy of punk. SEE YA EDGAR!!!!

  • Bugga me that's loud! :D

  • Anthony Kiedis kinda looks like Iggy! =)))

  • @jan279 i disagree. the only similarity is that they both have long hair, and are skinny

  • @TheFunnyzach I said kinda, so what I said is a bit acceptable.

  • @jan279 i guess your right, did ya get the new RHCP album yet?

  • @TheFunnyzach Not yet :(((

  • @jan279 they have a new sound on it, i like it

  • One of the all time best songs to skate to, no doubt. Fucking legendary.

  • "I'm a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm." Got that engraved on my Zippo :P

  • @OnlineIsland I have it tatt'ed on my dick, so there.

  • @saltjunkie77

    Bad ass :P

  • I used to take the record into high end Stereo stores in the 70's and tell them if they could get this whole song to play at 9 without blowing a tweeter I would buy it. it took a while and I finally found a pair of speakers and Amp that could do it. Blew up several tannoys and ADVENTS along the way though :) Search and Destroy, I think I will add it back into my set save it for the right audience...

  • Power!!

  • i cant find the amasing button?

  • i'm looking for it too...

  • Comment removed

  • mmmmmmmmm i like!

  • It sounds fucked. And i love it.

  • @RKNELIAS thank you

  • The Stooges is the kind of music when you play it loud your parents come in your room screaming "turn that noise down!".

  • It's supposed to sound fucked. Read your history about this recording.

  • you get your ass the hell off my boat!

  • SUCKER PUNCH

  • this sound quality is FUCKED

  • @Trogdorwillrise It's more powerful that way!

  • great song, pity iggy's an insurance salesman these days.

  • epic tune

  • 16& Born in the Wrong Generation.

  • R.I.P. Ron Asheton - can't believe I didn't get to see him live!

  • dIGITAL OR WHATEVER...THE FEELING RINGS THROUGH...(fucking capslock)...

  • SOUNDS LIKE ANGELS DANCING ON FIRE!!!

  • Great song. I did not know this song...

  • @Juniorlinux1 O_o

  • the ones who didn´t like it probably confused iggy pop with justin bieber

  • This is a victim of the CD Loudness Wars - it's been clipped to death and sounds horrible.

  • @enterprise1954 Aaaaand nobody gives a shit.

  • @SlaytanicMegaforce seems some other posters do. Still love the song and will upload a clean copy of the single soon :-)

  • @SlaytanicMegaforce yeah you're right nobody cares, the stooges are the goddamn stooges damnit!!!

  • @SlaytanicMegaforce too rite..distorted is the name of the game!! hes the runaway son of the nucela a bam, after all!!!

  • @SlaytanicMegaforce The fuck we don't!

  • @SlaytanicMegaforce I do. If you play really loud on a big system it sounds like shit. The old version sounds great - but no bass or drums! I don't regret that I bought the new version, but I'm sure glad I have the old one too - talk about RAW.

  • @SlaytanicMegaforce They do if they like their music to sound good!

  • @JoeyDrunko Okay.

  • @JoeyDrunko Good music sucks! It's not powerful!

  • @JoeyDrunko This is The Stooges. The louder and more horrible it sounds the better

  • @louiscfc93 That's the thing, when a album is mastered too loud, it has no depth. I do not like digital distortion in my music.

    The original sounds much better.

  • @JoeyDrunko what are you talking about it sounds amazing, the horrible production quality only adds to the stooges raw sound.

  • @JoeyDrunko it does sound good.

  • @Generation1Terrorist Yeah, if you like artificial distortion and digital noise in your music. It makes my ears bleed.

There is a difference between an album having a loud and raw sound, and being mastered too loud. Perfect example; Done With Mirrors by Aerosmith. It's a more stripped down sounding album. Not overpolished. The original master sounds great, but the remaster has audible cracking when Tyler's voice gets louder.

This being a punk album does not excuse a bad master.

  • @Generation1Terrorist Also, consider this. In making everything "ultra loud", he actually made the song more quiet. What I mean is, in the original, the guitar cuts in really loud compared to the rest of the opening. In the remaster, it's all loud. No depth.

  • @enterprise1954 needs to be louder

  • @enterprise1954 Its impossible for Iggy & the Stooges to sound horrible

  • @MrsAlllllli It depends on how old you really are. You have to be spiritually and musically ready and mature to come to understand, apreciate and love these songs.

  • @dracidus10 don't forget condescending and pretentious.

  • @Necromax3 ... Why would you say that?
