  • Incredible music, its different then what I usually listen to, but it was amazing. Well done with the video too (even if it was just an image with a guys head turned)

  • This song is great thanks for posting, Bauhaus woot woot!!!!!!!!!

  • is it just me or is this song very un-bauhaus? its still great though.

  • Yes, it is great !

It was one of their early songs, when they were still regarded as a punk band.

Goth just sort of "evolved" out of punk about 1981-82 ish. I don't think they actually know who came up with the word "Goth" to describe the genre, although some bands had been called "gothic" before, like Siouxsie And The Banshees in 1978.

  • Same with Joy Division, they were called goth back then too. I think it was Bauhaus that really brought the gloom though.

  • Haha that's a good way of putting it !

But as I recall, you're right, Bauhaus were the first Goth band with a capital "G", if you see what I mean...

  • @roddy76to86

I think the word "Goth" to do with the sub-culture, orginated from the 18th century when alot of people were writing horror novels such as "Frankenstein" and "Dracula" And of course you can't forget Edgar Allan Poe's work.

  • Have you even listened to Telegram Sam or Lejartica Nick?

  • Sure have. listened to them all.

  • the tempo on this one is just flat out blistering, and the bass is vertigo inducing. Total classic.

  • I couldn't have put it better myself !!

  • I'd just love to see a recording of a live performance from back in the day. I heart my Shadow of Light / Archive DVD.

  • experimental architecture - experimental music...heavy food! 5* loal voting^^

  • Yay ! And you can hear their punk roots in this one.

  • Oh Yes! Dive is a great song too! Thanks Roddy!!

  • My pleasure, got to keep you Bauhaus fanatics happy !!

  • hehe Yah!
