  • hey thanks for this. i use a similar idea...just can never get the pan+the moving minifigs to look smooth together...

  • @FLIPaBRIK if your minifig is walking, put the ruler behind camera and for each frame move it 1 mm and it should looks smooth

  • hey im trying to find the cradle but on the link it says theere is an error. plz help

  • Like the previous poster said, it's not panning, it's a tracking shot. Really, is it so hard to get on Wikipedia to learn the terms once in a while?

  • you do realise that what you aree doing isn't a Pan its a track a pan is completly different

  • "nice cradle" :D

  • Thanks :)

  • that is a gross song

  • VERY HELPFUL THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • The method works pretty well. One thing I always do when panning vertically or horizontally, I either tape a ruler to the edge of the pan track so I can consistantly make the movements, or I temporarily place the ruler in the actual set, capture a preview (with ruler) and again with it moved. You can then see on your computer if it's moved consistently. Then remove the ruler for the actual shot.

  • Nice tutorial, I use a similar method

BTW, you spelt helpful incorrectly at the end :P

  • Thanks for telling.

English isn't my first language though, so I hope you'll forgive me :P

  • Great tutorial!

  • Nice tutorial, but I suggest putting some bricks behind the camera as well. I tried that before and it works better then.

  • what about digicams?

  • I don't have much knowledge on digital camera's. If you could build a steady cradle for it, it could work along with this tutorial.

  • i have made a compatible thingy for a dv camera, but it isnt a cradle, although it works better

  • Prima! you make me want to do stop mo again.

  • Dude great vid man, another trick I like to use, is to take a ruler and place it where the 2x? bricks are, so then you can like up the camera to the ruler and you can make very accurate millimeter increments.

    Great tutorial tho :)

  • I love you Darkman.
