If you notice, in Tomb Raider 1, her ceiling in the main hall is much more vaulted and angular, like the Amityville Horror house. In TR2 and TR3, the ceiling is lower.

I definitly like the tr3 house the best out of all the games with her house. Never really noticed how much darker it was compared to tr1 & 2 till now actually lol. i think they changed it too much in the newer ones made by crystal dynamics, I was excited when I found out they were putting it back in the game when legend came out but I never really liked the new version. it was always fun going to her house in the first 3 even if there was no point storywise whatso ever.

Do you mean the picture of the mansion (0:04) or the mansion itself? For the picture i used print screen when i watched it on my PC. The mansion itself must be in the main menu. It's shown as a photograph.

I think the reason for TR 3 to be darker both inside and outside is because in TR2 it looks as if it was early in the afternoon (outside) and TR3 it lokks ike it is sunset (outside).

I've always liked TR 2 best because it has the maze and that was like the signature TR activity in the house (if that makes any sense). I mean, I used to have TR2 but now I only have that and TR3.

Something about TR3 is weird. It's really dark. You can hardly see anything!

1-2-3 all have this mansion, it's like a training level. In the games Legend and Anniversary there is also the mansion but it is nowhere near as beautiful nor exciting as these.

Tomb Raider has lost its atmosphere and original design since its developed by Crystal Dynamics instead of Eidos and Core Design,the real owners aka how can you screw a famous game and make a kitsch.What a shame.

I totally agree. It's like their graphics and story plotlines have gotten better but the whole "Tomb Raider feeling" is gone. It's sad if your a long time Tomb Raider fan and you have watched it grow and you notice the tiny things about the games that have changed. Now, Lara is so high tech. Shes not simple anymore like she was in the first 3 games. Sometimes I wish that something will happen and Crystal Dynamics will stop developing it and then Core Design will get ahold of it again:(
