  • This is drek. Actually it's worse than drek. After I this I may never be able to listen to BS&T or to the Stones.

  • Brilliantly interpreted and played! Gave me chill bumps----

  • DCT can do any song with the band and make it their own! Long Live BST.!

  • Cool!!!

  • great upload have never heard or seen this version before, of course I love this band and the various leads they have had out front, great thanks

  • It does not blow the stones" version" out of the water. the stones dont have a "version". They wrote the goddamn song.

  • @garyhouts so whoever wrote it does the best "version" by default ? Poor Jimmy Hendrix losing to Bob Dylans All Along The Watchtower

  • arent we cute...Lets go off topic to make a point..Ya might wanna stick to the subject I brought up, which is authentic original verses a cover....Ya wanna play?

  • @garyhouts" Ok I'm confused. How is citing a case where I think the cover is better than the original going not sticking to the subject? Re wanting to play, do we trade examples ie Dropkick Murphies v The Who, Dylan v Leon v Brian Ferry, Slade v Quiet Riot, The Fargone Beauties v Led Zepp (ok the last one is pulling a long bow)? Are you saying that the original can never be improved on?

  • @werriboy55 IM SAYIN SHUT THE FUCK UP DUMB ASS!!!!

  • @werriboy55 Dropkick Murphys kick ass

  • @werriboy55 DYLAN IS A WINNY IDIOT!! SOUNDS LIKE 1 TO MANY DICKS UP HIS ASS!!

  • Please listen and understand that songs like this made it to the charts back then.Hence the applause. It is true that you who are now listening to all the music ....you will say it again.

  • I remember talking to a friend back in 2003 saying I Hope Santana will not sound like BST with too many horns.

  • the instrumentals sound like the track to Streets of San Francisco!!

  • Cool!

  • that is how you cover a song and make it your own!

  • Amazing version, with so much added to the piece.

  • This arrangment was written by a genius named Dick Halligan-does anybody recall him? - the other great arranger was Freddie Lipsius, who performs this incredible Alto-Sax-solo - ist there something more to say about except "amazing!"?

  • Totally awesome!!! Way ahead of their time and light years ahead of what passes for music today.

  • @TurKFXI I agree.Thank You.

  • fascinating arrangement

  • I had no idea BST was so avant garde.

  • If my parents did anything right they listened to these guys back then when I was a kid. And no they weren't high. My dad's a doctor. You are right this is weapons grade rock/jazz, when musicians had talent, not like the thieves of today.

  • Classic though the Rolling Stones version is; it's also 'camp' with all the Oooh-Ooohs.

This is 'Weapons Grade' a real bunker buster!

Dick Halligan's trophy cabinet was already straining with music awards; more so after this.

  • Soberbia interpretación!

  • Now I remember why I never cared for BS&T back then. Way overblown drama for a song which remains a rock classic. A disservice in my opinion. Thanks for sharing anyway.

  • What an electrically charged version that they made their own through a brilliant and brave arrangement.

  • The best band-phase ever. But too much DCT on the screen

  • HAPPENING!

    Eams

  • Bit too much intro...the rest blows the Stones out! thanks.

  • thanx so much for this!!..this version is the shit!!!!!

  • i would like it but i just can't mess up 69 likes, its too perfect

  • so fuingck awesome soso good i watched it again soso good >>>>>>>that is the darkest piece of brilliance vibration ive have ever heard .... soso wicked >>>.only a wild canadian like clayto thomas could put that together

  • Just brilliant

  • Fred Lipsius on the alto sax. Gotta love it!

  • This was my favorite band when I was in junior and senior high in the late 60s early 70s. They take a rock song by the Rolling Stones, play it in movements like a classical piece, and experiment into fusion jazz. They took a huge musical risk, doing this, and their consummate musicianship shines through because of it.

  • @curtisls87 Didn't know they had a version.Doesn't rate with me.

Doesn't have that 'Tubular Bells ' feeling.

  • Blows the Stones' version out of the water.

  • absolutely AMAZiNg!..more pOwEr to the ARCHIVES! =oD

  • perfect song

  • Phill Simon I know you posted this, your wrong

  • Indeed , the potent voice of David C. Thomas only paralleled by the metalic sound of B.S & Tears ! ... Excellent !

  • Awesummmm

  • PLEASED TO MEET YOU, CAN YOU GUESS MY NAME?

  • *WHERE* can I get a video of this concert? So many great performances.

  • One word: Chills.... chils, man... jeezus!! <3

  • This performance gives me chills!!! And I live in a place without A/C, where it went up to 86 degrees today! I've always loved BS&T, but never was much into "Sympathy" until NOW!

BTW - wild to see DC-T on kettle drum, during Fred Lipsius' truly inspired sax solo!

Thanks for finding & posting this!!!
