Check Engine Light Error Code Reading

i tryed but just the srs light starts flashing & the check engine just stays on.. can anyone help, the car wont start so iam checking for codes.. thanks

does this work if the D4 gives u those flashes? Well i got the flash of One Long 4 short (14) on the D4.

code 12 normally mean that the system is IN DAOGNOSTIC MODE. It is not a code of itself. you must wait until the [ one long flash - two short flashes ] diagnostic mode is complete then the system would flash the code or codes that are present. After flashing the codes the whole thing repeats again starting with the 12

its not 12, its a code of 2. the long one is letting you know its the end of code given.

disconnect the positive battery cable for a 30 minute period, then reconnect and your check engine light will be off. Do this right before you go for a DMV inspection. It could save you a $1000. dollars !!!

96+ for any north american vehicle is OBD 2. you need to buy a computer/tester that plugs into an OBD 2 Port.

It's never 2' from the Center consol/CD Player area.  ( Driver or Passanger Side )
