The sleeping is like to get anesthesia before operation. No thoughts - not even dreams. Even if an operation longs for 8 hours, and you will wake up, it feels like you were gone for a second. There exist no time when you are asleep and without dreams.
is david in heaven? are any of the old testament saints in heaven? when are they rewarded? do they have any reward now? is jesus bringing his reward with him? if the dead are in heaven then why a resurrection? does the bible say that no man has ascended to heaven? hello!
Luke 8:54-55: he, however, took her by the hand and called, saying, 'Child arise!' And her spirit returned , and she rose immediately; and He gave orders for something to be given her to eat. This shows without the spirit to animate the body we are dead. This does not mean the spirit is dead or sleeping. In all these instances we find the spirit entering the body again but never reviving or resurrecting because it already is alive. It is the body that is asleep and needs animation.
In I Kings 17:20-22: When the widows son died Elijah cried out three times to the LORD and said, O LORD my God, I pray, let this child's soul come back to him. Then the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him, and he revived. Notice that it came in him.
can anyone back it up from the bible that man goes to heaven upon death? or is it tradition that your so use to. 3/4 of the bible states that the dead are asleep whether you want to believe it or not this is the word of god.
"However, I permit the Pope to establish articles of faith for himself and for his faithful--such are: That the bread and wine are transubstantiated in the sacrament....that the soul is immortal; and all these endless monstrosities in the Roman dunghill of decretals..." [Assertion of all the articles of M.Luther condemned by the latest Bull of Leo X; article 27, Weimar edition of Luther's Works, vol.7, pp.131-132]
We must always be careful to remember the words of Jesus to the thief who was crucified with Him. John 19:31-37 makes it abundantly clear that this thief died at the same approximate time as Christ. In Luke 23:43, we have the authoritative words of Christ that give a promise of hope to a dying man that upon his death he would be taken into the conscious joy of the Lord's presence.
I think you are the one that has the misconstrued interpretion. You dont know the true meaning to the parable of lazarus and the rich man. And you misunderstand the scripture about the theif on the cross. Jesus was dead for three days, so how could he have meant literaly on the same day?
Kudos to you in defending the faith. Apparently, these evangelicals think that Jesus went to Paradise that day, and that he was in Paradise for 3 days before he went to heaven after resurrection. Their problem stems from the fact that they believe Paradise and Heaven are 2 different places. But they are the same. Revelation 2:7 says that the Tree of Life is "in the midst of the Paradise of God", and Revelation 22:2 says that the Tree of Life is in the midst of Jerusalem! :D
John 19 is not abundant in making it clear that they died at the same time, and in Luke 23 it just says that Jesus promised him that day, that he will be in heaven with him
This is heresy. A blatant blatant misconstrued interpretation of what the scriptures mean. Luke 16:19-31 gives an accurate testimony to the fact that existence after death is a very conscious one. This fundamental truth is taught in many other places in the Word of God. II Corinthians 5, declares emphatically that absence from the body means to be present with the Lord. Philippians 1:23-24 again proclaims this as truth, and implies no indication of an intermediate state or a "sleeping."
Even William Tyndale, along with Martin Luther did not believe in consciousness in death. There are clear quotes, and Martin Luther equated it among the "dung hill of decretals" of the Pagan Catholic Institution. It is a doctrine of devils. Luke 16 was a parable, not an accurate testimony. There are parables in the bible that tell you about "talking trees". Do trees talk? II Cor 5 does not mention "when" we will be present. It just means "that's our next conscious thought"
YOu disregard Luke 16: 19-31, REV 6:9,10,11, Phil 1:23, Acts 7:55-59, And then there is the thief on the cross LK 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

There presently is no "heaven"..when the bible talks about "heaven" its talking about the sky and space...the heaven you are referring to and Jesus was referring to is the new heaven and earth after is second comming...the "heaven" that you mean wich is paridise will be on earth.
Thank you for quoting this scripture. I have been watching this man for the last two hours and I have made favourable comments under his videos. Then I come up against this heretical teaching on death and I come up against error.
Sometimes the devil takes a while before he shows himself up for whom he truly is. Here you can truly see him showing himself up as an angel of light.
"if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." (Galations 1:9)
The teaching that Christians go to heaven when they die was termed by Martin Luther as one of the "dung hill of decretals" of the Roman Pagan Catholic Institution. It was never believed by Hebrew tradition. The philosophy of the dichotomy of the soul derives from Plato, and is a doctrine of devils and is part of the wine of abomination. Evangelicals are very stuborn, and they will go down defending their pagan faith that the dead are not really dead. It makes you want to scream
Make sure you look up the Greek word for 'today' in Lk.23:43. The KJV separates the words (To day) for a reason. The word used does not mean 'the same 24 hr. period'. There is a different Greek word Luke would have used to mean 'that same 24 hr. day'. These little differences don't always translate into the English, as the English is not as expressive as the Koine Greek :) Have a blessed day.
I think the disturbing part is how people can believe the Bible as literal truth when simple logic and science can disprove or at least cast reasonable doubt upon a good chuck of the book.
If you try to say evolution is logical... you need to go study what "logic" really is. Evolution also breaks the law of conservation of matter and energy. Use logic on that.
Have you studied evolution and not believed what someone else said about it that didn't hold a PhD in some sort of biological field? Have you looked personally through a microscope to see how quickly micro-organisms evolve?
If you answered yes to one of these statements, you clearly didn't absorb the information correctly, as conservation of matter an energy has little to do with it. In fact, using that "logic", the reproduction also breaks that law.
Reproduction is the combining of existing DNA to form a new organism modeled after the parents. Evolution into something else requires NEW information. Mutations are a loss of information, not a GAIN, which is required for macro-evolution as you are espousing.
Study up more on evolution and especially genetics. Mutation isn't always a loss nor a gain, it's could be a reconfiguring of existing DNA (i.e., if a code is written "ABCDEFG", it could mutate into "ABFGCDE" in a bad rewrite). Besides, you need to realize that thermodynamics has LITTLE to do with evolution. Stop being a close-minded Christian, stop listening to people who know nothing of science, and read a real book. Even simple Google searches may help you, but take what you read carefully.
A reconfiguration is still a mutation. I admit I probably haven't studied this nearly as much as you seem to have done, but where does this NEW information come from for macro-evolution to take place?
First, by invoking "micro-evolution", I assume you believe in micro-. What separates micro- from macro-? The genetic code mutates in micro-, so how is it so hard to believe the same works for macro-?
Second, if "ABCDEFG" mutates into "ABFGCDE", doesn't it make it "new"? More, do you know that radiation pummels your body every day? Do you know it sometime breaks DNA strands, which *rarely* results in a "new" mutation?
Finally, before you say something is "illogical", please remember to study that something, which you just admitted to not doing--at least in any length.
@AmazingFacts He said in 6:24 "that's when they rise." But what about Matthew 27:52 saying "The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life."
