Amazing. There is a way to perform compulsory routines and that was it. That girl just oozed personality. She was smiling as she prepped for one of the tumbling passes. No other routine deserved a 10 more.
@totallygothboy Assuming you mean Podkopayeva, if I had to put the two head to head on floor and pick the winner and if I picked the wrong one I would get a bullet through the head, I would pick Daniela, no question. Daniela was very consistent, where Lilia was capable of having Miller-level mental breakdowns.
@beautifulsarah100 I love them both dearly but what do you mean miller-level breakdowns? I never recall seeing pod breakdown none the less a miller breakdown, when was a time she did this?
@gymnasticsloverxoxo Lilia had a Miller-level breakdown at the 1993 World Championships, in the vault finals. I'm sort of laughing because I'm the only person I know who uses Shannon as a baromoter for mental breakdowns, but you seem to know exactly what I mean because you obviously know Shannon and what she is (was) capable of. I love Lilia, too, but she often seemed a little skittish and edgy. Silivas always seemed fine - just go out and get the job done.
@beautifulsarah100 1993 was Lilia's first year competing as a senior, she was making errors all over the place, then nothing much was expected of her then. She was one of the new generation with promise for the 1996, who was also adjusting to the fact that Ukraine was an independent country and she no longer trained in Russia. Miller did breakdown . In 1996 the competition was huge because Khorkina, Kochechova, Mo Huilien, Podkayova, Dominigue Dawes and Milo all contenders. Plus being in US.
she was a good gymnast, in my opinion the best in every events... had a good and elegant moviments and she was a great dancer and excelent tecnique... and a great love for gymnastcs...
