At the turn, Elky checks and then nonchalantly touches his stack as if threatening with a check-raise if bet into. A tell for weakness (for us armchair analysts) . . .
@sternumagnum when you think about it - the ace of diamond is a bad bluff card. if your the other guy. what is elky calling the flop bet with? because.. its certinaly not the ace of diamonds. If any other diamond came it wouldnt be a problem. But then you have to question.. would he call the flop bet with only king of diamond? and really the only hand is king queen.maybe some players would.. but also some players wouldnt. But also its so easy to say this when i can see their hole cards
Who said elky was drawing for the nutflush? maybe thornston was thinking he was holding like pair 6's with 1 of them a diamond. that is enough to bet with on the flop. And when Elky saw the call and then the check for the A diamond he was certain that the sweed wasnt holding a diamond at all. Besides all that, he is a pro and knows who he plays agains with advanced thinking then us.
The commentator is surprised he folded?
To fold here is the no-brainer. This moron has no business commentating poker.

you just said it wasn't an easy call, and then when he folds you say, "i'm surprised"

ColdHearted 1 year ago
@ColdHearted No, he's the one who had the royal. He beat some Japanese guy who had quad Aces

@vertigo959 Right you are. That guy was Justin Phillips, whom as you said beat Motoyuki Mabuchi's AAAA with a Royal.
