  • I still don't understand what's wrong with this great Tristan recording that CK didn't want it published?

  • @amfortas1978 It lied more on Rene Kollo, which was and is (in my and obviously in Kleiber's opinion, too) as Tristan just horrible...

  • @getschi007

but what was said in many books is that:

CK was not happy about one phrase of isolde and he wanted to re-record it.

i didn't see CK commented on Kollo?

  • Merveilleuse Margaret. Sublime, musicale, d'une probité artistique absolue. Reposez en paix, et merci pour votre musique.

  • Only this voice, only this interpretation awakens in me a desire to explore the music of Wagner.

An exceptional recording from one of the 20th Century's exceptional sopranos!!

  • Phenomenal voice - phenomenal interpretation - phenomenal recording. R.I.P.

  • Thank you so very much for posting this.

77Opera, je suis absolument d'accord avec vous, c'est bouleversant.

  • Margaret, I raise a glass of malt to your treasured memory, and listen to your magnificent Liebestodt. I know you would have preferred G&T tho.'

    Now you truly are 'heavenly.'

  • Merci et adieu. C'est trop grand pour dire plus.

  • The first Liebestod I ever heard and still my favorite. Rest in Peace and thank you for all that you gave us.

  • Heavenly. Of all the aria's I played after hearing of Margarets death this Mild und Leise is most probably the best they can play at her funeral in Wales, down by the Irish Sea,where she used to walk with her dogs the last 12 years after her retirement

After searching all Youtube-contributions I can only conclude that she was even better than I thought the last 25 years! And so will many conclude.

  • Oh great behemoth, greatest Isolde of all time, thank you for your gifts. May you rest in eternal peace

  • Grazie, Margaret.

  • Thank you for this. Rest in peace, dear Margaret.

  • I weep as I listen to this most beautiful voice of the 20th century. Thank you Dame Margaret for the many wonderful hours of magic you gave me when I was able to see you perform. Rest in eternal peace.

  • R.I.P. Margaret Price. If this recording would be the only one with her she would still be one of the greatest.

  • R.I.P. Margaret Price. My first Isolde...

  • May she rest in peace...

  • Tout simplement beau! Merci à vous getschi007

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Such pure beauty xxxxxxxxxxxx
