If you've never seen it, you need to look up the "Roddy's Film Companion" comic and take a look. I think you'll like it--the creater is just as crazy, (in a totally GOOD way!), as you are! Now, off to watch part two... :)
I don't know why I didn't comment on this the first time I watched it several months ago, but I'm going to remedy that now. I saw the two new installments you just posted, but had to rewatch this one so I'd remember what was going on. I've had a mad love affair with Roddy for the past nearly forty years, and I think your movie is FAB!!! I'm SO eager to watch the new parts, to see what kind of trouble Bobby, Roddy & CO get into. And the bit about reaching for the same scarf--LOVE it!
Ahhh. Haha, well I hope you have more luck with yours. Mine likes to turn off randomly by itself. My favorite time it does that is riiight when I'm int he middle of writing a long text.
Bobby really got a kick out of this. Some of his fans were kind of upset, but he has a great sense of humor, and in general is about as swell a guy as you would ever want to meet.
I agree with that full-heartedly. Bobby is indeed a swell man.
And yeah, I unfortunately saw all the things the fans were saying. It's one of those videos where you kinda need to read the description first. But it is okay. I didn't make this for fellow fans of his, I made it mainly for my friend and for myself. Their words may hurt me, but -shrug-, I'll deal.
Felt like I was watching a 'CLEAN' skit from SNL.....BRAVO!!!!!!!!!...Enjoyed every minute of it, THANK YOU : ] .......Love that you included so many different characters, you had me laughing through the whole thing. Do not usually comment but had to on this one. Your admiration as a young person for Bobby Rydell is to be applauded only wish more youngen's felt the same. And yes I heard Neil on the phone : ] .....MORE PLEASE!!!!!
HAAHAAHAA. I LOVED THE SPORTS CONVO BETWEEN FRANKIE AND BOBBEH. XD It's funny, because when you don't know a thing about sports (I liked the cubs and bears a few years back, but that was more because I was obsessed with the Blues Brothers at the time, and therefor loved anything to slightly do with them. Hence, I know nothing of sports either.)
- So as I was saying, it's super funny, because being a person who knows little of sports, I can totally buy that what Bobby is gibbering about, is ACTUALLY logical sports talk.
OMG. Would you believe I literally spent a WHOLE night.. RESEARCHING.. trying to come up with a FEW lines that sounded SOMEWHAT like I really knew what I was talking about?? I was all reading these articles and blogs about the Eagles, trying to figure out what was current news or not, I mean, REALLY now.
I didn't know what the heck I was reading about. Something about Coach Reid and a capable punt returner, and something about a player named Castillo who got switched from offensive line coach to defensive coordinator......I GUESS?? Suuuure! Those sound like football-ish things! I'll throw them in there! :P
Omg. Seriously. And see, this was AFTER I had ALREADY been researching the Phillies BASEBALL team.
I was relieved to learn they had won a World Series tho bc at least that gave me something to go off of.
But finding some audio for that was NOT as easy as I thought it would be. I had to piece something I found together with some cheering from another thing, and then I had to figure out how to give it that "TV" sound ya know?? And of course, I didn't know wtf I was doing bc audio editing makes no sense to me. Omg Jorgé. OMG. WHY. The things we put ourselves thru for these boys!
How you changed the lyrics to the songs around, bravo! I was so cracking up over them... and when Bobby sent Neil that video, and I heard the intro to the song, it was a total "Oh no she didn't do a parody of Do The Freddie. Yes, she did. HIGH FIVE." So yeah. HIGH FIVE! :D Oh, and I know you were having trouble with the ending and all, but going out with an epic, sort-of-journey song was simply excellent!
Oh my gosh. THE NEWSPAPER, or more specifically, "The Philly Daily"... loved how you worked F&TD and the Zombies into that. Heehee!! And... and... IT'S A GRAND ILLUSION. Roddy, your little shopping buddy from overseas. And d'aaaw, would that be Scout making a little special, suspicious-of-Roddy kitty appearance?
Hehe! My half-arsed newspaper that you can totally tell I spent a LOT of time to make..especially when Bobby folds it up and the pictures start coming unglued.. Lol, and I am sad because the two other headlines I threw on there are INVISIBLE. I purposely made them fainter to be less distracting, but I didn't realize when I went to film they'd practically disappear.
The top one on the front says "HALF-TIME SHOW WOWS CROWD" (in reference to OUR version of what the Superbowl halftime show should have been. Apparently it was a HUGE worldwide sensation..) And then on the back there is an article about how "People Everywhere Are Dancing In the Street"... (Probably a result of that totally swingin' halftime show.. The beat just didn't stop for some people...) Yes. These are both important inside tidbits that I felt were necessary to share.
XD Yep! That is my little Scouty! She was hangin' around, bothering me while I was trying to film, so I was just like, "YA KNOW WHAT. I'M JUST GUNNA RANDOMLY THROW YOU INTO THIS VIDEO TOO! >:O" But I excused it as being okay and called it my homage to "That Darn Cat".
The growling was done by a totally different cat, though, haha. That would be the vicious Tammy.
I will definitely have much more to say, going into a better detailed description of things later. But for now, just gotta let you know, this IS a masterpiece if ever I saw one! I bow to your brilliance, Mel.
