  • I think I recognize Chuck Eldred, PB Film Commissioner, on the dais. Good going, Chuck! (Love Roger Corman!!)

  • Hollywood needs another Roger Corman!

  • Sadly, I've only seen a few of his films. I'd love to see most if not all of them.

  • Corman is incredible. Pit and the Pendulum is a very unsettling film.

  • You can get a lot of Corman's films on his website newhorizonspictures (dot) com so PearJammer07 and others, you should check it out. There's also a blog that apparently will have more of his thoughts on independent film etc.

  • There should be a box set of Roger Cormans best films. THe only Roger Corman film i have seen is Galaxy of Terror. Very good movie for the time and effects technology around at the time.He is a good director even if it is for B films.

  • Roger I am using your movie Big Bad Mama in my book and movie

  • Only knowing of Roger Corman until now, this was surprisingly impressive (imho). His presentational style plus his perspective from his experiences turns out to be a kind of must-see comprehensive ten minute cornerstone to just about everything in the film industry.

  • Was this lecture footage shot at the 1st Annual Delray Beach Film Festival before they gave him a lifetime achievement award? If so, I was in the audience for this.

  • Yes it was, oriana.

  • Man Eating Fish, Crazy Roadsters getting points by running over victims, Spaceships in a fight to gain control of the galaxy----Oh Corman has been ALL OVER! An Oscar well deserved because he lit my imagination!

  • ROGER CORMAN - The mentor of Francis Ford Coppola Martin Scorsese Ron Howard James Cameron John Sayles Peter Bogdanovich Jonathan Demme Joe Dante Donald G. Jackson Gale Anne Hurd Jonathan Kaplan Curtis Hanson Jack Hill
  • Hes still active just not directing. After fifty years plus I think he is due some down time. If you really want the goods check out the book How I made a Hundred Movies In Hollywood and never lost a dime by Corman and Roger Corman:Blood sucking vampires, flesh eating cockroaches and driller killers by Brenda Gay

  • whoa! this guy is giving the goods man! great clip! now checkout my trailer!

  • Roger Corman RULZ!

  • Yeah, tell me about it. I just blew 2 years and my life savings making a film and finding an audience is harder than anything! -I did a huge amount of work myself including directing, writing, producing, editing, special FX, storyboarding etc to keep costs down. I've just been accepted in the Cannes SFC festival this year, so fingers crossed it will get that elusive audience!

let me know what you think-

  • This guy is awesome!

  • im a huge fan can someone tell me why he stopped making movies his last directed movie was in 1990 does he have some disease or something? he rocks

  • Thanks for posting this! I have been a big fan of Corman's films over the years. I particularly like how he says in the first part of this video about making films if you want to do art--NOT make money. Something that is sorely missing from today's movie industry. I really hope that Roger keeps on going awhile, because there are NO really good risk-taking independent producers to take his place, and to give young actors, directors, writers, etc. the critical start they need.

  • He is god. End of story. One of my idols as a filmmaker.

On an interesting note look at the people he has discovered

    Jack Nicholson

    Francis Ford Coppola

    Joe Dante

    James Cameron

    plus more

    It's amazing.

  • yea corman is great , theres a guy who never let what others peoples criticisms stop him. hes a true artist

  • @sacrificaltotem Well you could say the same about Uwe Boll and Ed Wood....
