  • This is a classic! And the network wanted him to sing, "wishing Lord that I was home..", but Johnny Cash is Johnny Cash! R.I.P. John.

  • That rhythm reminds me of Disney movies. Johnny Cash made something that's so bad sound so good.

  • I,m wishing, Lord, that I was stoned!

  • My grandfather passed away in July of 2011 and I sang this at his funeral and Everytime I hear it I cry <3 R.I.P Thomas Richard Chism... I love you.

  • Happy Happies Johnny!!!

  • ahh woke up feelin like shit, still high as fuck from yesterday.

    Happy birthday Mr.Cash.

  • Happy birthday Johnny!!!!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHNNY!!!

  • Happy birthday Johnny! And at Sunday to!

  • The original rebel. The best !!!!

  • Johnny is just one of about 25 of the absolute greatest all-time country singers.

  • i miss Johnny

  • Lol I just started listening to this song and im crying for no reason.

  • I can relate to A Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down. The morning after a late night gig, and relflecting on when things are quiet and everything hasn't woke up.

  • johnny cash was a G

  • John was the man

  • and somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'

  • Beautiful song .... Sad

  • Thankyou,Jesus for sparing us what we have coming to us fot our bad deeds and giving us what we dont deserve grace&mercy

  • I absolutely love this song. It is the epitome of a Sunday. This is why Johnny Cash is my favorite.

  • It's Sunday morning, and this is what I feel like

  • kris kristoffersen wrote this great tune

  • @16iluvJustinBeiber01 Yes, he did write it... But he gave the song to Johnny because he did not feel as if he had a proper singing voice for music. Johnny got all that to change however.

  • I love this song! It is awesome! Good job Johnny Cash!

  • I've never heard this song either, but I have often felt this way, with none of the drink taken or anything. Some lovely, appropriately haunting imagery here.

  • Great.

  • Thank you God, 32 years no hang overs.

  • @auntphizz 24 for me -- don't miss them

  • @basicaa Congratulations.

  • @auntphizz You are a life looser. Its been said the non-drinkers suck because when they wake up thats the best they will feel all day.

  • I used to put this song on every sunday morning after a saturday nights heavy drinking, thankfully as the years go on the times i have to play it are getting less or is that a bad thing? :)

  • I've never heard this song before today. It's really beautiful.

  • I'm wishing Lord that I was stoned....

  • One of my favorite Cash songs, even though Kris Kristopherson wrote it. Johnny made it his own and I love to play this on my guitar. A tribute to both artists.

  • @mounthorebwi Me too. I love to sing and play this song, especially on a Sunday Morning when I am lonely.

  • serzhant thanks for the song and clip

  • I am going to violate the "no drinking before noon rule" to be more like the great, indominable Johnny Cash! Cheers brother!

  • I was walking through my city centre today and this song came on on my iPod. It was too much. Almost made me weep. Goodnight cruel world.

  • my head hurts, oh well it was so much fun!

  • Reminds me way too much of a bad period with my wife, when we only got along when we were drinking it up every weekend..Waking up on Sunday with an awful hangover, only to go do it again..We're both huge Cash fans, so this song really resonated..Thankfully, those binge-type drinking weekends are done..We both got smart. Maybe this song helped..

  • Johnny and June the best ever...

  • the mans a legend.

  • I'll forever remember seeing Johnny Cash in person, and hearing him sing this song was the highlight of the concert--------RIP Johnny

  • It's new year's day, it's Sunday morning, I'm more hung over than I've been in years, and I just cried while listening to this song.

  • Johnny Cash was the man, but then I took an arrow to the knee!

  • awesome copy dude ,well recorded!

  • I use to feel just like this song John is singing about before I let The Lord Jesus lead me .boy does it feel good..

    /watch?v=Z6ylStg9yD8&NR=1&feature=endscreen

  • Me First and the Gimme Gimmes do a great cover

  • This song reminds me of my old days as a 20-25 year old. F___ed up every weekend waiting foe Monday to get it together again.

  • When I was 12, this song reminded me of life. Now that I'm 28, it still does. It's that damn good.

  • @LagunaWSU2 I hear you buddy - does the same for me

    Peace

  • @LagunaWSU2 I'm a 2year old. My Diaper Burrito reminded me of the smell of someone frying chiggen. Sunday morning, coming down. You ain't nutting bout Hound Dok, cly all time.

  • @DancingSpiderman" the wretch in the next stall gave vent to a mournful fart.. long and low... like the hooting of a fogbound liner" unknown... graffiti circa 1965 Treasure Island San Francisco navy depot. My last reading of prose before getting dischrged from usn. As I have learned of the Diaper Burrito from you .. I offer this as compensation.

    old guy

  • Get that fucking justin beiber ad off of this awesome song.

  • Some ppl suffer from deep depression, so don't comment about it like it's a choice you make. You dont just say "yea im gonna visit old ppl and ill b ok" , also sleeping during the day is worse. Some vitamin D supplement help. U work the night shift at dixie-win or 7-11 ? If u sleep all day no one misses you either

  • @ iscrca also join face book, I have may friends there I love dearly, most of them live far away, I'v never met them and probably never will, but each day we share our lives! If u want make me your first friend., but also do visit old folks homes!

  • KK wrote this gem.....what a genius...JC does it best tho......hey iscrca u need a kick in your ass.....at least u can get outtta bed, unlike many others....like the asshole who got the 100 per cent solution last night.......he wouldnt drop the gun !!! he has dirt nap for ever minus his brains..... so haul ass, get with it, and be happy...........................

  • I love you Johnny CASH! They don't make em' like you anymore!!! My Love!!!

  • such an amazing, powerful song. I never get tired of Johnny Cash R.I.P.

  • johnny cash has a voice that just cuts right through a person!!hes awsome!

  • This is for you Dad, I miss you so much! Life is just not the same without you. I'll see you in Heaven, until then I will miss you every day! ♥

  • If you're alone, you don't have to be lonesome. Take up playing Bluegrass Banjo. It's like playing an instrument from Neptune. Really hard to learn, impossible, all-consuming, frustrating -- and happy.

  • As far as I know, Johnny Cash is the ONLY person ever inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  • I have been there,

  • Too many people suffer silently. The pain never ceases. The loneliness only grows worse. There's fire in the past and only ice in the future. An endless sleep always sounds inviting.

  • @jeffreymliss I love sleep!

  • Johnny, this song changed my life.

    Today I wear all black.

    R.I.P.

  • Oh how i love this song <3

  • I need a joint.

  • @yoransom havin one

    HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @yoransom i like songs after a smoked mind of songs rolled.

  • @yoransom me too

  • 1 of the top 100 song ever made

  • This song reminds me of my dad. My mom left him and took us with her when we were little. He was really sad and just drank and smoked all the time. His house always smelled like old cigarettes. I wish we never left him so alone.

    RIP Dad.

  • @eepetius We had the same kind of dad and mom. At least dad got to live a life. the life my mom took us into was a kind of hell, i can't blame mom, she was weak, sadly, as far as i know our dad never checked up on us but i remember the smell of old cigarettes. Did we leave him alone?? I don't know.

  • @eepetius my ex took the boy and left when he was three and a half... i hope he remembers me. i lost all right to him through the courts in england so i've had no contact at all. that was the greatest loss of my life. in another six or so years, he'll be able to look for me, hopefully i'm still around. i miss that boy every single day, i wish i could tell him how much he means to me.

  • @MrBuckwilliam I'm so sorry man :(

  • @MrBuckwilliam - thats horrible mate, l really hope you are reunited with your son in the next few years and you can show him some classic cash tunes. Every son needs his dad

  • @roscoejo75 thank you for saying so. we can only hope it all works out for the better. and for all of us :)

  • @MrBuckwilliam I hope things work out with your son, lifes to short!!

  • @ashleyhyde11

    hiya

  • I BEN THIER

  • what a great song, makes me a little sad to hear it sometimes.

  • Yes ,country music has died with Johnny an many other greats .

May it R.I.P . Miss you johnny and the other greats that made country

    Great

  • there will never be another Jonny Cash..... Debbie Horon was a good entertainer with him

  • Whats with the huge empty space under this comment?

  • this is a true love story with him and his wife and i pray to god they are together again now

  • @joanhorsnell07 Uh, Johnny Cash didn't write this song. Agree with the sentiment but it's unlikely to be a true story of Johnny.

  • @DataTasha4: You are right, Kris Kristofferson wrote it. Look to the right of your screen (probably) to find one of several versions he did - but the duet between he & Johnny is freaking awesome, as is the version Kristofferson did at the JC tribute.

  • best hangover song ever

  • I remember the first time I heard this song by Johnny Cash. I was in Thailand with the Air Force sitting by a swimming pool with my radio. It was 1969 and Johnny won the CMA's Best Song Award for his performance of this song. Every time I hear Johnny sing this song I always get a lump in my throat; guess it just brings back memories of that sad time. One of the greatest voices in country music. "Ring of Fire" might be Johnny's next best performance.

  • @mhhurtt

I saw Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins perform in Okinawa 1968. I was in the marines, I talked to them and got both their autographs on two ticket stubs....my most prized possessions....

  • First Johnny cash song I've ever heard. Ever since, I've liked to listen to Johnny Cash.

  • i thank you all for the comments that has been maded, it make me feel well loved inside. thank you and god bless each and everyone.

  • Rip johnny and June Carter cash.

  • The song is Kristopherson's ... or was I sleeping

  • ...And the beer i had for breakfast wasn't bad, so I had one more... - i like this !

  • There is no feeling worse than feeling alone. You wonder why you're here when no one even knows you exist. SAD!!!! I feel lonely much of the time and cry myself to sleep. I wonder why I bother to get out of bed in the morning. No one needs me or cares for me so what's the point.

  • @harkrum Yeah it's hard but I pray and believe that God will find me that special someone. Good luck to you and I will be praying for you too.

  • @iscrca Thanks, I know you mean well and I appreciate the thought, but it probably won't help...

  • @iscrca

  • @iscrca so shut it down fool ......fawk it can't be that bad get out of your bed and live fawk

  • @iscrca You're right, just don't take up any welfare dollars or food stamps while you're busy crying to yourself. There's people that actually want to live on this planet.

  • @Ether6123 You sound like a really heartless person. I really hope that nothing ever happens to you that will make you understand what this person is going through.

    Try some compassion and empathy.

  • @beautylikesthebeast You're going to cry now too? Damn, no wonder taxes are so high. Everyone's too damn busy crying about their problems instead of doing something about them.

  • @iscrca Being happy is unnatural. So is being sad. Plenty of people need you. Old people at old folks homes would love you to go visit. There are plenty of places/charities to donate your time where they very much need you. Don't mistake "no one needs" you with "no one *you want* needs you". Also, try to get a night job. Sleeping during the day is less lonely.

  • @pdistheflavor Good words, always nice to know some people are kind enough to try to cheer a stranger up

  • @pdistheflavor bravo

  • @pdistheflavor Truly a good advice! Maybe even i may need those tips.

  • @pdistheflavor ....Wow. Very wise. I'm not even sure how to comment on that. But it is one of the best things i've ever read. Thanks.

  • @pdistheflavor What the FUCK are you talking about??? This is about being Hung Over......

  • @iscrca I know how you feel. Hang in there.

I know it's a clique but it really does work or else I would have died when my son died 8 1/2 years ago.

  • @iscrca Dude, you need help bro!

  • @iscrca: Feeling alone is a bad feeling. However, you need to examine how true your presuppositions are. Everyone wonders why they are here. How many people do you know of that "don't exist" and you don't feel sad that you don't know that they exist. You may not be in control of how you feel, however you a very much in control of what you do about feeling lonely whether you realise it or not. You need to ask the question "How can I turn this around?". Find new ways to accomplish this. :)

  • @iscrca Hey THE WORLD is a better place with you in it stranger.

  • @iscrca But, YOU need you;

and you do not need anyone else right now, in order for you to want you,

or to deal with what you think is your current state of existence,

or to jump start yourself to get to see a different way to think and feel.

I recommend this book: Conversations With God, Book 3 of 3, Expanded Anniversary Edition, Neale Donald Walsch.

It answers all the self-defeating questions of WHY, that we phrase in negative wordage.

Neale asked the questions, and listened.

  • The Purpose of your Life:

To decide & to declare Who You Really Are.

To create & to express Who You Really Are.

To experience & to fulfill Who You Really Are.

To re-create yourself anew in every moment in the grandest version of the greatest vision you ever had about Who You Really Are.

That is your purpose in becoming human, & that is the purpose of all of Life.

If I knew you, I would drag you out of your house into the bright sunlight, and we'd take a walk. But this is all I can offer you.

  • @DancingSpiderman the purpose of who you really are? really? sounds like some optimistic bullshit. look me in the eyes and tell me you know who you are. here let me humor you. at the atomic level of self observation... i have came to the conclusion that i want to shoot out into a million particles lightyears and lightyears away and float around as cosmic dust. that is beyond emotionally my molecular level of self awareness. .. oh and the purpose of life is becoming human?

  • @DancingSpiderman p.2. well, as a human ive already achieved that. and now ive grown into a superior purpose, of being some asshole on the internet. im drunk. fuck you. the smartest people are the people who claim to know nothing. and i fucking know everythinmg!

  • The words, the story, and that voice. Put to that uplifting music was well before it's time. When you listen to this you see why he inspired so many great musicians.

  • i want to say thank-you for all who have saild how sorry for my friends that didn't come home. but i too want to say thank you for the vets from any war they were in, or still there fighting. viet-nam maybe over but i'm stilling to fighting to live in peace, even thro my family is homeless. westill believe in the man upstairs has plans for all of us. thank you

  • @SuperCatlady99 Sorry about your loss!

  • i play this allthe time everysunday for my dad he was a good friend and father and best of all a war hero he loved this song.

  • 6 dicks are ready to be cast to hell for disrespecting THE MAN! Johnny rules, hands down!!!

  • The only way you could not like this is if you aren't listening to the words.

  • 6 dickheads need to get their head out of their ass

  • this song may be better today than ever.there does not seem to be much good new music being produced today.if you have a guitar its not to hard to sing and play.i met j.c. after a show in greensburg,pa awhile back.he signed my guitar and was quite gracious.what a life.

  • R.I.P Johnny...R.I.P Country Music
