  • Much more powerful than the class 40s which replaced them

  • Yes indeed, and a whole lot more enjoyable to watch!

  • Still here, this is such a great video

  • Still watching this every day :-)

  • Thanks, so thats why the views are mounting up!

  • This is briliant. what a piece of engineering.

  • Thanks, yes she is a real thoroughbred

  • Did you hear that she went up Shap on Saturday unassisted with 15 coaches, an all up weight of about 670 tons

  • The load was actually 12 plus a diesel on Saturday, see my latest video for her very impressive performance.

  • It was 15 plus a diesel all of them crimson C1s

  • Great shots, many thanks. Would it ever have happened if it was still BR???

  • Thank you and probably not, we are very fortunate with the amount of steam running today.

  • Cheers, glad you enjoyed it.

  • Great selection of clips Austin. The Duchess looked impressive wherever we saw her that day.

  • Hi, Excellent footage - Would you be ok for your clip to be downloaded and used on the PRCLT website!

  • Thanks very much, there were certainly a few people covering the train. We had all been fooled by a good weather forecast for the area but as you can see they got it wrong again!!

  • Yes, great vid. So appreciate your post.

And it blows me away to see just how many people/cars there were in your first shot.

  • That made my weekend, thanks for a stunning video.

  • Thanks a lot, really pleased you enjoyed it.

  • Great filming Austin on what looks, from all the videos, like a classic performance with 6233 going for it all the way. Trust me to miss it! Chris

  • Cheers Chris, it was a vintage performance and we all really owe a huge debt to those very experienced hands on the footplate who made it possible. Sorry you missed it. Austin

  • Superb!

  • Thanks, glad you liked it.

  • Magic work Austin, The Duchess in her element!

Love the last sequence, you were lucky with that voyager shifting just in time ! Matt.

  • Thanks Stephen, yes, I did have a long day and might have had another shot but it was foggy at the chosen location so went straight to Scout Green. Austin

  • Going very well at Scout Green she was. I guess she still has some punch left in her.

  • In the very capable hands of Bill Andrew and Frank Santrian on possibly their last Duchess run.

  • Superb video Austin, you worked hard to get all those locations in..well done..5*..Bob

  • Thanks very much Bob, It was a long day and I had a few camera and editing problems but got there in the end. I don't think I've seen the Duchess going as well. She was in the hands of very capable men.

  • Excellent video Austin; a great variety of locations. I use Divx (custom 16:9, 800 X 448 pixels) - I think it works well. Cheers, David.

  • Thanks David. I will try that as I'm getting more frustated by the minute trying to get a decent picture.
