Sorry, but she seats and produces some wonderful sounds, then she gets up and produces some other (to long) beautiful sounds.... I do believe Tosca is something else...

I love Caballe... in the 70s with Rossini, Donizetti et Bellini, but...

Thanks for posting this, Onegin! It isn't easy to play evil, but Pons is convincing, and he has a beautiful voice to do it with. He and Caballe do a memorably fine job here with Carreras joining them at the end to broaden and meld the whole to a still higher level by adding a legendary vittoria at the end.

She might not be physically acting ie with her face and body. But she is one of the best to listen to!! If yoy cose your eyes she SOUNDS extremely dramatic!!!

To gripe about Caballe's acting and stage presence is a waste of time. She never pretended to be Sarah Bernhardt and she is not to all tastes. In a perfect world she would have acting skills to match her glorious voice. But guess what, her voice makes up for any dramaturgical shortcomings.
