  • Unfortunately, Bell has Heifetz syndrome where he takes it all too fast. And he adds to it by moving too much which causes 0:50 .. other than that, nice. Mischa Elman.... that's a Traumerei to behold.

  • Hes wonderful :)

  • he looks retarded cuz hes moving around lol.......

but nonetheless he plays it really nicely

  • @clem4705315: Yet some would say that decay can be played out better on a string instrument because the string player is the one in control and not at the mercy of the instrument.

  • This piece on the violin, especially in the hands of Bell, is much more moving than played on the piano.

  • @jwywong

    uh... dont think so.

the violin cannot imitate the decay of the piano, a very important factor in the most ideal atmosphere for this kind of melody. that's why it was conceived on the piano by Schumann.

  • lol A True musician gets lost in the world of music. Which is a good thing! :)

  • André Rieu? are u joking? If u by chance to list his O Mio Babbino Caro, u know what I mean.

Bell is simply the best, he makes people cry.

  • good but a little to fast for me

  • he's like, well, he closed his eyes and he's like living the music

  • awesome

  • the magic is André Rieu!!

  • i don't feel the magic. i think he is trying to sound good instead of trying to communicate the emotion.

  • Great b ut I think the tempo could be a little slower. This is my opinion though and Bell clearly thinks this tempo is correct!

  • Beautiful. I heard that in my exemple music on my computer

  • i think he really moves to much

no saying thats bad but its awkward

    XD

  • dear ih;

he is not a begginer, but a master, vertuoso!

i m not dare to critisize him, oh no

  • I think you're right! It could be a little bit slower. Like on piano. But i think there isnt any problem with his vibrato etc. Otherwise fantastic!

  • I feel like it's perfect. He get's the real "tranquil" feeling of the piece but its at a good tempo to flow.

However I respect your opinion, but in the future can you give some backup? I would like to hear your argument.

  • No arguments, just ear the elman version.

  • thats not fact-thats opinion. You can't criticize Bell based on opinion of interpretation. If you had good honest fact to back up your statement then I would believe you and rethink my post. But "listen to elman" is a very weak and poor statement.

  • Agree with you 100%. Though your comment is not too popular, it is correct.
