Based on what I've heard so far and criticism of the gymnastics community, I'd say that the changes (a split) that she makes right at the end of the dance routine was a very good idea. I'm sick and tired of all the bullshit has been said about Shawn's (flexibility) capacity on FX and on the Beam. 'Nuff said. Great job!

Also, there is a difference between proper technique and different style. Shawn Johnson does NOT have proper technique on her splits. Her hips are not anywhere close to square, and she rarely hits 180. That's not a different style. That's just bad BASIC technique.
