  • hypothesys :

The back OIF THE HAMMER CROWN IS SOLLICITED FIRST ,

A LICKING MOTION MAY ARISE FROM the KEYBOARD SIDE TOWARD THE TAIL , at last at some speed.

the second videos on the WN&G page show that kind of motion.

  • on the documentation page of Wessel and Nickel , second video

  • On the second video there :

A better view of the shank behaviour, that seem to say to me that the back of the hammer head crown is often sollicited first and that a licking motion from front to back may arise at somme hammer speed.

  • Too bad, I wish to find one with the good relation whippen/keyboard. and informations on the strenght of the blow

  • Too bad, I wish to find one with the good relation whippen/keyboard.

  • ah I guess I understand what you say yes, the keyboard is placed too low vs the whippen. (or the whippen is too high vs the keyboard,

During the motion, the half blow line is not passed , as it is under the whippen heel/capsan cross even at rest. Capstan is too tall then , the motion between capsan and whippen is all but natural. (and key dip is probably too strong)

  • cool :)

  • Thank you, ! no that is simpler... (the action is a standard Steinway NY action)

  • Whippen is too short?

  • C'est une mécanique Steinway USA, avec je crois un marteau US mais pas Steinway (Ronsen). Le pressage est carrément bizzare, mais le bas des marteaux ne sert a rien, d'après eux !

  • Who will tell us what is wrong with that setup ?
