he dosen't sink because of the advantage welded ships hold over riveted plate hulls the technology wasn't used until WWII for fear of a solid hull cracking but it was used in the navy, because of the cheep construction. now you cant get a hull to crack unless its a freak mega wave ( one so tall it breaks in the open ocean) the titantic on the other hand could have been sank with 5 light taps from any vessel.
