Wonderful! We have "happy meat" - cows normally can live up to 20 years.... these poor creatures, once they are "fattened" get sent to slaughter in about 12 months. Many are still concience when dis-esembled - read "They Die Piece by Piece" Washington Post.
The "controlled run-off" - it's a manure lagoon isn't it? The poop does go into the ground water-methane does contribute to greenhouse gas as well.
