@applesweeter well in theory we are related to every organism ;) .. there are a lot of articles on the "Last Universal Common Ancestor", a lot of scientist think that every microorganism and animal descended from one organism, so we have some traits in common, you can read on that. In truth mammals are mor related to reptiles than birds, due to the law of dichotomies which means that two organisms evolve from one organism. but we are related ;)
