My dog has been howling along to this video which is quite funny. He doesn't howl normally unless you are howling or another dog is howling. He also howled at the German Firestation siren when we lived in Germany for a couple of years (it sounds like an air raid siren).

Definitely part Border Collie the markings are obvious and gorgeous. The tail and the fur type make me think Australian Shepherd but the bark doesn't fit so my other guesses are Springer Spaniel, English Setter, Canaan Dog, Brittany Spaniel, Siberian Husky, Labrador Retriever (flat coat).

@kenz21588 I have a dog named Sam, & he's a Cojack: half Corgi, half Jack Russel Terrier. He looks exactly like bandit, except he has a stubby tail. He has the same spots on his face & everything.

There's 2 breeds of Corgi, one with a short tail & one with a long one. So maybe Bandit was a long-tailed Cojack?

it's funny that everyone wants to 'humanize' the dog and pretend that he's trying to tell you the phone is ringing, when actually the animal is in pain. Dog's ears are very sensitive, perhaps you should explore purchasing a different phone with a slightly lower pitched ring?
