Drew Barrymore is brilliant in this. She really held her own with the always impressive Jessica Lange. If either won of these ladies walk home without the Emmy, I'll consider it a grave disappointment.

I'm not sure why Miss Lange says Jackie O's arrival was too little too late. They did keep the house and were allowed to stay because of Jackie. Jackie was far less responsible to take care of these two remarkable women than the 2 sons of "big" Edie, "little" Edie's own brothers. Where are they in this picture, or other family?

She's commenting the ladies' state of mind/their awareness of their environment had deteriorated so, by the time J. realized how much they had changed and began to help them;the Beales would only return to their previous behavior and living conditions.Wondered the same about the sons when watching the documentary years ago.Should have provided a groundskeeper/housekeeper.Its obvious the Beales had trouble relating to others in their midst tho.The birthday party may sum up why no help would stay.

I think the fact that Jackie was married to a BILLIONAIRE may have had something to do with it. She should have done more,much more...and much sooner.
