Hey .. thanks so much for the videos. Seriously... you have no idea how much u have helped me on many occasions with the info in your blogs. And I thank you for that and trust your oppinions/advice. Thanks again, man! You rock at life! lol Hey... give us an update on newer Androids. Haven't heard much accessable info on the new ones (Droid X/ Incredible/ Droid 2...etc)
@GPHnMobile Good news bad news time. Bad news: If your device doesn't have a full QWERTY on board, accessibility can't activate (even if it's there). Good news: Wait a year, and we'll have a fully accessible Android note taker called the Braille Wizard.
On paper the "Droid" might have better specs than the 3GS, such as its 5 Megapixel camera. However, check out some pictures taken with a Droid. They really don't look any better than pictures I take on my iPhone. The same goes with videos. I'm not rooting against Google, I really like all the services they provide. I just don't think they're quite "there" yet with the phone.
I love the iPhone. However I'm used to Verizon's network. The Voyager is not going to last too much longer. So, I need something, and I need it fast. Right now it's a toss up between the Droid by Motorola and the Droid Eris by HTC. The difference in price is $100 ($99 on contract for the Eris vs. $199 for the Droid), no flash on the Eris (both cameras are 5 MP), Android 1.6 on the Eris vs 2.0 on the MotoDroid, but I do get the SENSE UI which I'm a huge fan of for it's simplicity, so we'll see.
@mthwkln DUDE JOIN THE CLUB ON THIS... I don't know what this clown is doing making video's like this. I own a Droid, but I would not say it is better than an apple product... All I need to say is app store... There is no comparison. Come on it's Motorola...
true but like if iphone didnt have a jailbreak option then yea definitely wouldnt buy it but thing is it does
and its not that hard to do it xD
even if it was hard, would be worth it
i just dont think that just because droid is open source, it should be enough to go for it
open source does not make it the best instantly, it makes it easier to improve and adapt but when u look at all the iphone apps, you cant say that there is something missing cause its not an open source
I have jailbroken my iPod touch and it slowed down the system (it took about 2 1/2 mins to start up and the battery lasted a shorter period of time. so i restored it as i didn't like the way that it slowed it down and the "springboard" kept crashing and needing to be restarted. so i don't think that it is worth jailbreaking.
Well as far as Accessibility goes, you have an existing system that seems to work as opposed to promises.
I an wondering about the benefits of a closed or open system as far as accessibility is concerned. On one hand a closed and more regimented system may yield more addon applications that are compliant with the accessibility guidelines.
However, an open system could harness the power of an existing group of volunteers that may be willing to donate their expertise to improving accessibility.
I like the Iphone system way more then Android. I am all for the open source, just like u said. The only thing the iphone has over the Droid is how opperator friendly it is. You covered everything and im going to get this phone at 12:00 on November 8th for sure!!!! I love this phone already

To be fair, iPhone's are based on a version of linux as well.

Not exactly. OS X is based on BSD which is different than Linux, but both are UNIX based.
