  • I had mine removed yesterday did not have stones gallbaldder was only functioning 14% normal between 35 and 75%. Had an excellent surgeon had operation at 8am out by 12pm.

I feel uncomfortable around my belly area otherwise pain minimal.Feeling a bit bloated and a bit of pain in my right shoulder from the gas but been eating and drinking normally. I did uriunate a lot yesterday though.Pictures taken from the camera in surgery were given to my husband.

  • Anxiety Symptoms come with it to...

  • I had this surgery just over a week ago and am recovering fast with minimal bruising and pain. I was also lucky enough to get a really excellent surgeon (If you're in Portland Oregon, or nearby, Patrick M. Lehti, MD.) He is a really nice guy, who will answer all your questions before the surgery. I went home only a few hours after the surgery.

It took me a few days to feel like I could sit up without a little difficulty by myself; but after that bit of trouble, I feel good.

    Hope this helps :)

  • @archkaine Thanks for sharing your experience!

  • @nucleusanimation Not a problem. Glad to help wherever I can. Here's a little additional info/advice. First, find a well-respected surgeon to do the surgery, mine was referred to me by the ER doctor who I had at the time (he'd had to have his taken out a few years prior by the same surgeon).

A good surgeon makes all the difference in how the surgery is performed, and how quickly one recovers, so choose wisely. I feel like I got very lucky, considering the circumstances.

    Hope this helps :)

  • Omg I went to the ER and they did ultrasound and after an eternity they told me it was fine.....yet im having serious agonizing pain at this moment nausea, wanting to go to bathroom nothing comes out, cant take deep breath cause it hurt is that fkng normal :( this is horrible

  • I had this surgery about 9 yrs ago while 4 mts pregnant with my 3rd child. Worst surgery I've ever had. I was sent home just a few hours after surgery and given Tylenol with codeine for pain. I bruised heavily from the incision points so that my entire tummy was one large bruise. I couldnt get up or lay down or sit by myself for days. Ive had extreme diarrhea ever since the operation. 15 mins after eating Im running to the bathroom. I wonder sometimes if the pain of the stones wasnt easier.

  • I had surgery about 5 years ago. I still have to be careful with some food like to much cream and very high fat food. Other than that I don't get pains when I eat now. I feel free to eat near enough what I want to eat. After about 4-6months after surgery you should know then what you can eat and what you can't good luck to you all. Take it easy in the first 3 months. Take care. Good Luck

  • I just had this Surgery, but i'm thankful i was back for Christmas (:

i was also afraid but there was nothing to worry about, My tummy is still

inflated with that gas i was wondering if it would stay like that for a long time?

  • hey, i just this surgery 2 days ago, i am wanting to know what foods i can eat ?

  • I was discharged from hospital 14 hours after surgery by then it was my 8th day in hospital i went shopping right away boy was that a mistake i could barely move to get out of the van i was so sore later on but after being in hospital so long i wanted to do shopping before i went home with my family i was sore for a couple weeks i think, but now 3 months later i still get pain from the incision points and have to avoid grease/oil at all costs it causes instant pain and need bathroom instantly.

  • the post op pain is less severe than gall stone attacks (in my case it caused pancreatitis and almost needed heart surgery) yes the tummy will hurt to move and just need to move slowly and seriously think about every movement carefully but i asked for warm blankets to cover my tummy with it helped relax the muscles and i managed the pain with anti flammatories my son was 1 month at the time i just needed help with diapers etc. but managed to still breast feed him just had to move slowly&careful

  • I just got this I'm 14 nd now I'm recovering at home it really hurt

  • i am having this operation in about 4 month ! so scared

  • My bf gettn his surgery on monday. I was reading comments down here n noticed ppl say it hurts after intensely. :( n some ppl said it doesnt hurt at all after. So does it vary on hospital care/doctor who performed or patient?

  • I had mine out last Tuesday. Still hurting but glad its out

  • I have an operation for this coming up pretty soon and this video made me feel so much better. I have never gotten surgery before, so it's pretty good.

  • @SarahFanSocks

I think mines passed down genetically so I'm blaming my auntie and whoever gave her them, the pains arent coming too often now but when they do the pains are horrendous, there's no words to describe them, and i've only been put on prescription for minor painkillers and they don't help-.-

  • I finally went to the ER after having 5 gallbladder attacks because I'm a stubborn idiot. I'm having mine removed next week. My family blames the gallstones on my being fat (which I'm not). Whatever, I just want this thing out. It hurts so bad.

  • Very good video,

  • Had this surgery done in March, and am very happy with the results. Even though I have other health problems which could have complicated the surgery, it went very smoothly. I walked out of the outpatient surgery ward 5 hours after I walked in. Went to bed, took my pain meds and ice pack, and did just fine. Needed only the ice pack for the next few days. Feels great to be able to eat what I want without pain!

  • I just had my surgery done yesterday at 9-12 and when I woke up I was in pain for a while but it started to feel better after a while and I'm hoping I leave today or else I'm going to die of depression :/

  • I had a few pancreatitis before I choose to wait the necessary 8 hours at the emergency... After an ultrasound they found the stones blocked the pancreatic enzymes. I was 3 days in the hospital and have this surgery scheduled Wednesday morning. Very informative. I compared the pancreatitis pain to my labor contractions... Horrific... I had an emergency c section surgeries stress me less... I know itll be worth it in the end...

  • I've got to have surgery on the 15th of November, down side is that I'm only 14 and should be going through this pain, it's like a vice grip around your chest, back pain up to your shoulder blades and cold sweats with toe curling pain, my grades have hit the floor because of being off school with back pain and vomiting, my gallbladders affected too so it looks like I'll be staying in the recovery ward with all the alcoholics who have had liver transplants:|

  • @poppylove1900

I'm only 20 and my family says it's my fault because I'm fat (which I'm not). Just think that the pain will finally be gone. I know how much it hurts.

  • Thank you. I am recovering from this op and find this presentation very reassuring.

  • I left an hour after mine was finished. Had it done last Friday and it still hurts. They told me it would not be bad at all and they lied, this was worse than the appendectomy that I had. I wouldn't have this done at Decatur General.

  • after i had my gallbladder removed, my doctor kept on asking me if i was farting! xD

  • My dad had his gallbladder removed when I was 9 or 10 or 11 years old. He threw up a lot. So he had to have his gallbladder removed.

  • i had a galbladder attack and had to be rushed to the hospital... its was the worst, most intense pain.... iv ever experienced in my life.... i can not even begin to describe the intensity of the pain...

i soon after had it removed.... i now have similar pains EVERYDAY but they are short, and alot less intense.... but still very debilitating... and another sad thing is, im only 18!

that was only 2 months ago to... the surgery recovery wasn't bad at all... but i still have mini "attacks"

  • i was griping my stomach the whole time i was watching this lol scary stuff

  • Orgasmn tube Yeeeaaaaah!

  • this would of been a lot of help if i had seen it before i had surgery. :/

  • someone help, i have yellow bowels, since yesterday today it was all yellow, solid, and i just want to know if i may have it or what else it could be from, my doc wont see me because of me missing appointments cause i moved, someone please tell me what i should do im so scared!

  • I'm only 26 years old and I was recently diagnosed with gallstones and they want to perform surgery. Not looking forward to it but at least now I know how this will go down...

  • Surgery scares me :(

  • thnk you really great information.. my mother have gallstone ..I was very scared because she has operation because of that

  • Great information. I have learned a lot.

  • Oh so this is what they did to me last Nov. 2010! I never had the guts to research about it beforehand cause I was too nervous. But anyway, I'm okay now. Nothing to worry about if you'll undergo this procedure. :)

  • i've had gallstones since i was 5 and was misdiagnosed for six years when i was 11 i found out i had gallstones and was angry at the doctors for not realizing the syptoms i had gone through unbearable pain it hurt real bad. but then i realized that at least i had an answer and i want to hear other stories of people who were misdiagnosed with gallstones. and now i'm hoping to go on mystery diagnosis.

  • @MsHellokittygirl6 Interesting how it can be misdiagnosed, - my severe pain was dismissed as "fibromyalgia pain"/muscular or UBS, for over 5 years; I know what pain is! Abnormal liver enzymes appeared on blood work I requested, and finally got into surgery 10 months later. Expected to go home the same day, but ended up with open surgery due to calcified, fibrous gallbladder causing difficult Lapaoscopic Cholecystectomy, and a Roux en Y Jejunostomy from a common bile duct injury- no pain??!

  • i had a Lapriscopy to remove Gallstones, ti wasnt bad at all

  • Okay, last time i had surgery (apendectomy) i had a draining tube coming out of my belly button, and it had to be ripped out harshly. is ths going to happen again with my removal of my gall stones? because i had a large bruise and couldn't sit up for days. i sound like a big baby, but i'm seriously traumatized by this.

  • @JuanitaBby2010 go talk to your surgeon, a Lapriscopy for Gallbladder/Gallstone removal is even less problematic than the same type of procedure for a hernia, when i had my Lapriscopy to remove my gallbladder which had a couple big gallstones, i was bleeding in one of the half-inch incisions they put in me, but it was the one in the navel, which is where most of the surgery takes place, but as far as recovery time and such, i was back and feeling 99% normal a day or 2 after surgery, its not bad

  • @JuanitaBby2010 wow thats so weird i hade the apendix shurgery too now am gonna do the gall stone surgery

  • my uncle had this surgery yesterday && he said that it didnt hurt at all before during or after soo for any of you that are getting the surgery im sure you will do fine (: ohh && i forgot to mention that my uncle had no pain after the surgery so im guessing the surgery worked. ! :D

  • I had this done yesterday. I'm not going to lie, it hurt like a mofo the first ten minutes after waking up. I think they hadn't given me my pain meds, yet. And I get really nauseous from anesthesia, so that wasn't fun either. But I slept a lot yesterday and seriously I feel peachy right now. I don't even feel like I need my pain meds right now. It just feels like kind of sore, like bruising from the inside. Nothing I can't handle. So glad I got this done!

  • Questions before or after your surgery? Ask medical experts at AskMDx.com

  • this was so easy. went in with lots of pain and feeling sick after was a little sore went home the next day. was easier than giving birth.(lots less pain). and quicker recovery too.

  • does it leave any scars .. i love my navel the way it is

  • @XxaRtePxX it does leave scars but they are soo small it is not a worry and your navel will look just as good after as it does now.

  • And I'm only 16 and I have to go through this but o know that the pai

  • I'm Very nervous about this surgery and scared but it's the only way to fix it

  • After a week of nearly continuous pain attacks the drs are pretty sure it's my gall bladder. I am waiting for an appointment for the ultrasound. I have already had a chest x-ray and blood tests.

  • o.o soo this is whats going happen to me .... woooh

  • @coldbluerain You are extrememly uneducated regarding this procedure. It may be necessry for some patients and yes, your bowel movements will remain 'normal'. The liver secretes the bile into your stomach for food digestion. Not "all over the liver". No, removing a gallbladder does not cause toxicity, or ANY of the scare tactic comments you mention. A little google research might go a long way for you.

  • The pain after surgery sucks.

    It hurts to move.

I hope I heal fast like others.

I remember after the operation I was trashing and fighting the nurses cause i couldn't breathe.

    It sucks it really does.

  • great video, i am going to see a surgeon about my gallbladder next week. the ultrasound tech & the other doctors all seemed very concerned & said it looked bad. but i guess not bad enough to go in emergently. the pain is intense when it comes. hope it goes well.

  • My best friend has to have this done, but the doctors and surgens are saying that she is too young. She'll be 15 next month. I hate seeing her go through pain like she does. Do you have any suggestions on what I could tell her to do to help ease her pain if anything is possible? Also, I'm worried about her to have this done when the time comes. What are the risks? What will happen?

  • @HugsXOXOkissesXOXO

Please listen to me when I say this.

I had extreme pain for a month, dr told me the pain was like giving birth it was so painful.

    I am 18 years old.

ADVICE TO EASE PAIN: get a quarter cup of apple cider viniger (I know it sounds gross but when I drank this my pain completely stopped so please try it)

and a 8 ounce glass of apple juice and drink it mix the two please. I know it taste horrable but i am walking proof it helps make the pain go away within 10 minutes.

  • I had surgery the 16th.

It is extremely painful, very hard to breathe.

afterwards she's going to be in some pain. My drs gave me perks it just makes me sleep it does not get rid of the pain. I wish your friend so much luck and I will pery for her because i know it hurts.

  • I'm getting mine tomorrow and i'm only 18 V.V

  • I have to have mine removed through open surgery....just like my momma and aunts.

  • As a new EMT, these are gonna help me with assessments!

  • after removing the bladdar where the urine will get stored

  • @hakeem89968 The Gallbladder and Bladder are 2 very different things...

  • Im 15 and i just had my gallbladder removed laparoscopically. I had intense pains for 7 months and the doctors thought i was constipated. Finally i had another pain, and these would usually last 10-12 hrs but it didn't go away after 2 days. I was rushed to the hospital and they did tests and found stones and took it out. I had to stay in the hospital for 3 days and the surgeon said it was the worst gallbladder she had ever seen in her career, which was weird cuz im so young. No pain since!!

  • my mom hade to have this kind of thing because the gallstones were in her bile duct [she was vomiting to] and so she left after the operation after recovering and she stayed at my dads house for 1 night and felt a little better the next day.

  • My mother had this surgery a few weeks after I was born. Its nice to see what went along.

  • I like the video. I had this surgery almost 7 days ago. Still sore but doing better than the 3 attacks that led to get this surgery. At last Im free......

  • @superduckify i wish u luck i really dint trow up. bt trust me i know how the pain feels i believe its been 3 1/2 weeks since i had this surgery n i feel great im back to normal already i wasnt able to wear any tight clothes the week of the surgery like jeans and others bt now its not a prob. i can dance do pretty much everything i stay away from fatty and greasy foods tho. i do not want to end up under doz knives again no way gud luck SuperDuckify wish u the best n dont worry its not a big deal

  • I will have mine on Sunday. This movie has been a help for me

  • I have my scheduled for friday and this really helped me to relax, thank you

  • @anthonystrong40 Good luck with your surgery! Please share this video with friends and family so they'll understand what you're going through!

  • @nucleusanimation around hristmas last year my mom had to get hers removed. and her gallstone was in a place where you would never like to have one... and that reminds me,i have never had surgery before LOL! =)

  • @anthonystrong40

you should really look at the gallstone cleanse. it sounds strange but was having pain.. like vomiting and sweating after I ate.. I did the cleanse and passed over 50 stones..

now i changed my diet and work out a lot more.. I feel great.. Two months and no more pain.

  • I got mine out on Wednesday and it went well. Yours will too I am sure, but if you are like me you will be in a lot of pain the first day if you don't get any morphine but the doctors are required to give it to you if you need it. Good luck and don't worry the worst part of my sugary was getting the I.V. I am terrified of needles it took an hour to get it in me. I almost missed my sugary because of that.

  • @Happyface220814

Im afraid of the freakin anestesia which ive never had before.......but i have to do it i guess. I have per tests only one large stone and no blockage of the bile duct.

  • I gotta go monday. im scared

  • 17 may here.... i`m scared shitless. good luck to you.

  • hhahaaahaa on June 17th i am having surgury on my gallbladder and my spleen removed this shit is freaking me out :(

  • I had this done when I was 12 and I was showing symptoms of gallstones since I was in 4th grade but it was said to me other things and was finally diagnosed correctly after one smart Docter asked for a ultra scan. The stones were huge. The surgeon said I was lucky it didn't become much worse by them going into my common bile duct. The pain is awful I hope nobody has to experience it to my extent

  • Having this dine tomorrow

  • @mimi0674 - WTF hahahahaH?!

  • im having seizures right now and it hurts a lot also having trouble with my digestion, is't true that when i get it removed i can no longer eat fatty or solid diets? and will my belly grow bigger and lose my abs?

  • i had mine removed a few days ago. and the pain before that was o.m.g no words could describe how bad the pain before was especially when i finished eating fatty foods like macncheese fry chicken n rice. it was horrible but i had 2 surgerys on the same day first one checked if i had any stones in the way and the 2nd one which i had a few hours later they did wat this video jst explained to me. well im 18 and now its been 3 days since i left the hospital im taking some pain medication right now.

  • @rooselie100 Im 18 aswell and im going to have my gallbladder removed aswell. The pain was so bad. throwing up for 5 hours straight. not the best thing in the world. the worse part is the stone also was the cause for my pancreatitis. :\ having surgery in 2 months i beleive.

  • i had mine removed at begginning of month, the pain before the surgery i think was stronger than after surgery,it doesn't hurt afterward, you are just sore and of course it's hard to walk or get out of bed,but you won't be in tremendous pain, just a lot of soreness...

  • I had this done a week ago. I was in the hospital for a week and I was in so much pain before they took it out.I had gallstones and it was inflamed. After, the only pain I felt was being sore. After a week I feel so much better without it. I am still a bit sore but its way better than that awful pain!

  • some question.i am only 13 and i have this.dose that mean i may no longer eat fatty foods and stay on a diet?

  • i had my gallbladder out key hole 6 months ago and have severe nerve damage next to my right rib cage from this. nerve damage so severe i am bed bound. please please do a search on the net for everything that can go wrong during this operation before proceeding.

  • Had my GB removed a week ago. Pain lasted a few days but nothing that paracetamol couldn't deal with. Still have the staples which should be removed in 3 days from now. I didn't want this operation but after 4 seizures my wife got fed-up with taking me to the emergency services in the middle of the night and insisted I take the doctor's advice. Feel much better now! Glad I had it done.

If you have a GB stone/s causing you trouble, don't hesitate, just get it done.

  • doctors detailed me on laparoscopic GB surgery and all detailed answers to my questions .... patients interested could ask on proctoraid com .Want everyone to get the benefit for dollar 1.

  • had mine done on wednesday. was very sore for 1 day, then the wind trapped inside my body wasa bit awefull. but after just 3 days i can say i am allready feeling alot better. no longer feel like i have poison running through my vaines and feel alot more happy in myself. if in pain get it done. good luck.

  • Before you consider doing this operation you should find out what happens when you no longer have this important organ. You need to be rid of the STONES, not the gallbladder. This can be done simply at home with nothing more than epsom salts, olive oil and grapefruit. I had a severe attack of gallstones but refused surgery and got the stones out myself. I am 100% recovered. Google liver cleanse if you want to know more.

  • @pelhosaini No you google quackwatch liver flushes. Fucking morons that think anonymous web sites know more than real doctors.

  • @pelhosaini the gallbladder is not a vital organ.

  • i really appreciate

  • All who are experiencing pain near your lower right rib.. I say get it checked ASAP. I finally had my gallbladder removed last Friday and let me tell you, it's one of the best things I have done. I have more energy, although the doctor ordered that I not move around, twist, turn, bend and don't lift anything more then 10lbs for 2 weeks, I just can't keep still. GET IT CHECKED.

  • I had gal bladder disease, Deveoped stones. Wow -- 30 to 60 minutes? My surgery took 3 and a half hours, But then again, My pancreas was messed up and in bad condition because of my gal bladder and waiting so long to get it looked at. If your having severe chest pains right below your chest, GO TO THE DOCTOR, This is nothing to mess with, I waited to long and ended up not only getting a body part removed, But I ended up with pancreas probelems that have been going on for along long time now.

  • having mine taken out on tues. Did anyone have chest ache for symptoms. It ache's in the middle of my chest

  • @jonahmoffatt --- YES! I just got out of the hospital because I had BAD chest pain going THRU me to the upper back. It is NOT cardiac, so I know that it is my gallbladder. I'm waiting on the doctor to see me to get it removed...

  • @4chango Yeah, I've tried a bunch of stuff, for the last couple years I've been on a low/no fat diet it keeps the swelling down to a minimum...But the downside is its hard to maintain weight and at time's I don't have much energy to do stuff, which sucks being a car guy with a hyperactive 2 1/2 yr old son I have to chase around at home.

I'd like to be able to spend my free time playing with my kid and working on the project cars pain free...

  • I am having mine out pretty soon. Maybe February. I've been dealing with it for over 15 years. Mine does not react to food so much as it does stress and okay, beer. But stress will really give me an attack. In the past I have used ice compresses (big ones) and ibuprofen and that helped me get through the attacks. There is a small percentage of people who have adverse reactions, like running to the bathroom, still having pain and no tolerance for certain foods, but that percentage is small.

  • is this only for girls

  • @juliajdog123456789 - UH, NO!

  • I have just had this done 3 days ago. I'm glad they have done it, I was in absolute agony before. It is eating foods with even small amounts of fat in them that sets it off giving you really bad stomach aches like someones thumping you continuously. My surgeon said I will be able to eat anything after some recovery time. I hope so because I had to give up so many foods I liked I was running out of things to eat before surgery.

  • Gall bladder attacks are worse then labor and the surgery there after makes you feel like you cant breath or move thank God I will neer ever have to go through that again

  • My nans having this done tommorow :( worrieed

  • I will be having this surgery on friday, im a little scared

  • @mainstdancer08 Don't be!

I had this done in March. I had no idea I would be having it when I arrived at the ER for what I thought was just a bad reaction to some antibiotics for a skin condition. Turns out it was a gallbladder attack!

It was extremely quick and easy. I went home the next day. You're just a bit sore for about a week. The first couple of days, walking is a feat. So get that bedroom all prepped with a pile of books and movies! Rest is your best friend!

    Good luck!

  • @ashtweth sorry, I'm going only by my memory, you would have to research it yourself however I can tell you that going on a strict diet designed for this that includes staying totally away from all sugars, transfats, and processed foods, as well as some fats for a temporary time in addition to adding things like radishes, collard greens, dandelion, and herbs like gravel root and even Chamomile tea will help to shrink the stones over time. To speed up the process you can do certain hot compresses

  • @Tyler13R Thank you will check just got a book on it check the panacea university org site next year for a free proceedure

  • Get it done people it's worth it I suffered with bad pain my gallstones were huge I had mine done 11/19/2010 and I'm already going back to work I only had two weeks off from work I feel a lot better then I was before I was very sick

  • I just had my gallbladder removed 11/16/2010. The recovery process was very difficult for me.

  • I'm 19 and I'm having this done Monday. I'm really scared but the pain and nausea is so bad I don't know what else to do.

  • @burgandyblood same here. I'm 21 and im having the same pain and nausea, i have a ultrasound scheduled tomorrow morning then will have surgery hopefully soon after that

  • @mainstdancer08 Best of luck! I hope this all works haha :)

  • I am 66 years, Indian male, from South Africa, and have just been told that I have gall bladdar stones. The pain is chronic. I have already had two heart by-passes (1998 and 2008) and am scarred going through this additional surgery. They also did a Gastronomics Scope and there is no ulcer. What is your advise?

  • @Rohitex747 have you tried an alkaline diet?

  • Advertisements are so annoying, I miss the old youtube.

  • I am 16, and i am sceduled to have my gallbladder removed on thanksgiving week :/ I'm sad, scared and don't want to have it done honestly. I've never been cut open or had surgery. Any advice ? :/ someone help, I'm scared to death. Email me at Jessiemelendrez@aol.com

  • @jessiebear559 My sister had Gall Bladder surgery at the age 16. She said it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. They don't even cut you really. She said it takes about 3 weeks or less to fully recover from it. You will still be a little sore when you come home from the surgery at first. They will keep you for about a week or less in the hospital.

When you eat foods from now on after you've recovered, you probably won't be able to hold down the food as long as you use to.

  • @iAmHeart2urSoul Which means you will have to go to the bathroom earlier, and some foods like dairy foods will bother your stomach. Also spicy foods. Because your Gall Bladder would clean out grease and mostly junk food before you really digested it fully. So your stomach is going to be more sensitive. But Gas Pills should take care of the problem. Basically you will be Lactose Tolerant;NO Dairy Foods, because they will disturb you.

  • @iAmHeart2urSoul But you will be okay.My mother and sister had it, and they are doing fine.

  • I've had clients report positive results with limonene oil when it comes to gall stones...I add it to my spring water periodically. Less intrusive than surgery, worth a try for those suffering.

  • sgrho10

if u dnt mind me askin how long wer u in hospital

  • omg

  • Comment removed

  • I just had mine removed on Friday. Six days out and I'm practically pain free and the soreness is practically gone. My surgery took longer because my gallstones were so big, but my doctor was skillful enough that he was still able to do it laproscopically. So, Blackinterceptor999 go for it!

  • Ok, so the laproscope goes in near the naval for viewing, but 3 more incisions or what actually do the removal. Better than emergency surgical removal, though...

  • had gallstones about 5 years ago.doc told me to have the gallbladder remove or the stones will come back.I was too young to have anything removed.doc told me the gallbladder was a "luxury organ"--secretes bile to emulsify fat, that I didn't really need it.5 years & still no more stone--knock on wood!!my advice--just keep your body well hydrated.

  • i had this surgery its not so bad it only hurt a lil it feel like period pains

  • Cholecystectomy is an easy way to take out gallstones. This video explains that.

  • I have to have my surgery on Oct 27,2010. I was a bit afraid at first but now after ready some positive comments, (the good outweigh the bad) i'm not AS afraid. I'm just going to pray and put it in the LORDs hand.

  • People, before you remove such an important organ from your body, just because you have gallstones, try flushing them out with olive oil and lemon juice. A lot of people say it really helps, it is easy, and painless. Check the internet for what to do.

  • I had this done a week and a half ago. The surgery itself wasn't so bad. When I woke up it was hard to speak because the tubes they'd put down my throat made it very dry. The day after I was sore and it hurt particularly to get up and back in bed, but walking was fine. I feel much better now and expect next week to feel close to normal. I had some chicken skin a few days ago and was pleased there was no pain later. Good luck to everyone also having/had this done! :D

  • Had my surgery today. :P Not as bad as most people would think, I'm already feeling good enough to type online. Its a bit sore which makes it hard to breathe well and the gas pains for the first few hours were pretty awful but other than that this has been an easy surgery. I havent had pain meds since way earlier today and the pain is more than tolerable. So to whoever has to have this, dont be afraid. Youre knocked completely out for the procedure and the pain isnt TOO bad after.

  • @CubiasSlave I just turned 13 years old and I got my surgery on wednesday and the same day as the surgery I was completely fine. The day after was teh worst, wich was yesturday. I woke up and couldent move. My throte was so sore and I neede my moms help for everything. Now 2 days after the surgery I can move a bit more but it's still pretty painful. The upside is now I can eat fatty food... :)

  • @Soon2bFamous242 I just started eating light foods: yogurt, soups, etc. and it is the day after my surgery. I feel great although a bit more sore than yesterday, mostly my side when I breathe in. However, I haven't felt this good sick-wise in a long, long time: 2 years! I'm confident that this gallbladder mess was most my problem. :P I hope you continue to get better and I hope I do as well. And I hope our stories will let peopleknow this surgery isnt as bad as they think. NO FEAR!

  • @CubiasSlave I'm going to need to have mine removed, I haven't gone in yet and right now its very swollen, They say that Indians and Scandinavians are higher risk for gall stones, and I'm both...lol I'm thinking I should go in right after Halloween so I can finally have a thanksgiving pain free.

  • Thanks to all for your wonderful comments, and for this video! My surgery is happening on Wednesday. I'm so scared of the pain, because I have chronic pain and I'm afraid percocet won't be enough. What medications did they give you for sedation and pain before your surgery? Any info can help! I'm so scared of pain!!!

  • @Clevermess Aww, I have mine on Thursday, so I guess I'll have mine a bit to late to tell you how it'll go. :P I'm so glad they got me in soon, though. I'm so tired of this constant pain.

  • I have to have this surgery done. Its mandatory because I have severe biliary dyskinesia, and a gallbladder only working at %18. My only complaint is that I have to wait so long to have it. Severe symptoms for about 2 years before they found out what it is. My pre op is tomorrow and hopefully they remove that thing soon after! But I am on hospital discount which means they just wait for whatever opening they have ):. Is so painful and Im fatigued and faint from it. I hope surgery is soon.

  • I didnt know they were going to stick a tube down my throat as well...I thought they put a mask on you?.

  • Hello, I go in on the 14th to have mine removed and I am freaking out. I have never had any surgeries, and Im afraid of being put to sleep I think more than anything. Im glad I found this and could actualy see what happens.

  • I had my gallbladder removed 2 days ago, the whole thing is going great, I went home the same day, the 1st day of being at home I was able to walk round the house, the second day of being home (today) I feel fine as long as I don't stretch, have had no trouble digesting food although haven't ate anything which is particularly fatty yet. Had around 150 2mm stones in my gallbladder (!) and got to take them home.

Had it done at Addenbrooke's hospital, Cambridge UK.

  • I had my gallbladder removed a few months ago. My recovery period lasted about 2 weeks because I was too much in pain to walk, so please try to walk at least from your living room to the kitchen for a few minutes several times a day.

  • Had it 2 days ago....doing really well. My advice to anyone. Stay on top of your pain meds and WALK....the more you walk, the quicker you'll heal. Good luck to anyone having it.

  • @breerocks1983

I just had mine due two days ago as well but they also removed my appendix.

  • I'm glad i found this vedio..

my mother will do this procedure on the 12th of Octoper...

    I was so worried...

but after seeing this vedio... i feel lettile bit better

  • Had it last Thursday and had a rough time. Some of my steri strips came off too early and I'm still having some abdominal pressure and pain.

  • I'm glad I found this when I did. I've been affected with my gull bladder and gallstones for over a year, once every month. I'm getting surgery soon. Couldn't have found a better video probably.

  • Guys dont worry, I had this done 2 days ago, its a very simple surgery... and guys, if you have any medical questions, consult your doctor, not youtube.

  • I'm scared now because I'm 12 years old and I have gallstones and I dont want this done to me.

  • just had this done earlier this week.. I'm already up and about..

  • My mom is 40 and has to get this done. But i'm scared cause she has a deviated septo in her nose and dont know how she's gonna breath with the tubes in her mouth. I dont know whats gonna happen. She has to get it done tomorrow morning. I ask for prayer in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen.

  • I'm scared. lol. I'm 24 and I'm seeing a Doctor about my surgery. But if it means no more pain after I eat half a cup of soup, then I'm all for it.

  • @silvertear Im scared too because Im 12 and I have gallstones and I have to get this done to me in a month or so

  • @Girlifyable Hey, i'm 18 and i'm scared as well. my surgerys on oct 28th. Good luck!

  • @Devilbabe521 Hey babe.... I just had my done yesterday. I am the biggest baby and it was not bad at all.....this is day two and I am surfing the net. You will be fine

  • @Krissy0708 glad Everything went good, And thanks, i hope it will be fine. :)

  • I think I might having that problem :( symptoms are the same :\ hope I won't need to remove it :S

  • I just got my gallbladder out on 8-6-10. when i woke up i felt sore cuz of the left over air in my abdomen, but i was glad to have my gallbladder out. I went home 2 days after but went back on the 9th i went back cuz the same pain from the gallstones hit me again. The doctors checked me and said i had a couple of stones stuck around in the common bile duct so that same day i went through an Endoscopy and they got them out. Now i'm more glad than ever to have my normal, painless life back. :)

  • im only 20 and i might have to get this done, i recently lost weight and thats how i go the gall stones. Weird kinda i never would of thought there would be negative consequences for getting healthier.

  • is anyone can share his/her experience after the surgery since i do have some kind of uncomfortable feelings after underwent the surgery such as bloating, pain around the scar and etc.

  • My dad will get his surgery soon.. im praying fer him.. :((
