Here I am again, in this wonderful section of youtube filled with ambient music. I would rather this be what keeps me up to an unearthly hour than the rest of the crap on the internet.
@Indican Haha, thanks. I sometimes think that it depends on how deep the person is on whether they like it, but sometimes I think they just like more lively things to give them energy or whatever. Uh, right?:P
@kungfucowofgooeynes AMEN! I think it just enhances things too. Feelings of positivity, the beauty of nature, the silence of the quiet country roads..
Check out the video on my channel if you don't mind. I'm starting to write post rock/ambient music and It'd be awesome of you if you could give it a listen or two.
Hi, I write and record music for a project called Friendly Ghost. It's all instrumental but I am looking for some feedback, if people enjoy it I am going to write an album with vocals in it. I was just wondering if you could give me some feedback, I would be honoured to hear your thoughts :)
I listen to this and think of the hour after hour I gazed at the face of my dear wife as she lay asleep and dying, told her how I loved her, stroked her forehead, held her hand, thought of all the wonderful she was, all that we had shared, the years of understanding, the tender depth of love, the passing of my final hours with her. An ocean of live still awaits release in tears.
i love you, jane. Yours as always, shan. xxxxxxxxxx
I played this with "Jupiter sounds (so strange!) NASA-Voyager recording" (both playing open in different windows). Pretty haunting. Together and separate.
@xvenom12x That was probably one of the most annoying comments I've ever read.. and I've been through a lot of helios, hammock, god is an astronaught, and mogwai videos.
@lordofthenoobs oh and of course you know everything. let me think about..you think that you're a god, so you cant believe there is a higher one than you? just please.. think about what you're sayin' ...lord of the noobs. excellent name for one like you, i think.
This piece just relaxes my mind. It's simple as it can be (only ambient sounds) yet it sounds mysterious, as if there was something behind the way it was done. And yeah, those pictures really fit it. Thanks!
Sometimes I wonder to myself, "Do the people who have posted 'intellectual' comments in regard to how they feel about this song really feel this way? Or are they just talking out of their ass with a thesaurus in their hand trying to sound sophisticated?"
Perhaps I should have a thesaurus in my hand too, right? Ha ha.
@MexiChris409 suppose it depends on whether you're right or left handed :-))) I think the point is the music makes you feel and people like to post crap on here........All I'll say is its better than a smack with a wet mackeral
@MexiChris409 we feel the need to use complex words to describe something this beautiful; simply calling "good" or "chill" doesn't do music like this justice; so we bust out the most descriptive words we can think of.
@MexiChris409 It sounds pretty dumb if you think people with larger vocabularies are holding thesauruses trying to figure out synonyms to commonplace words. In these respects my normal, everyday conversational tones are considered complex.. Take an English class or two, play knowords, and try to be smart. Nothing on this page is intellectual, just people who know good, descriptive words. Moron.
@beboppinhaley your just a narcissistic ass man, let people be descriptive and emulate themselves through words that you may know the definition of but not the true power or meaning of, fool.
@blackoutshock77 your full of shit. people who are using words they dont understand are being immature and fake. your really going to defend people who put on a facade? Good job you.
Well you sure told me! You really proved that nothing on this page is 'intellectual.' Hell! You even proved that everyone, or at least the majority, on this page has no grammar skills. I was skimming down the comments and noticed that you have another argument going on with someone else and your grammar sucks granny-dick. You must have really took your time to present yourself to me since your reply to my comment is halfway decent. I feel cared for :).
@MexiChris409 Thank you for being here. You know, I don't choose my music based off of how it sounds. I mostly have a criteria on the most intelligent fan base on youtube. It really lets me connect and prove my vast vocabulary and immense descriptions. Once, I almost got 4 likes. It was amazing.
You seem so smart though. Do you apply this vast superior knowledge elsewhere or just on youtube's finest pages where your intense brainpower is needed?
Since you're dying to know, my intense brainpower is needed on a daily basis. I live my life day to day helping others with my vast knowledge. By day, I'm a typical college student; by night, I'm masked vigilante who strives on ridding the world of illiterate morons. I take my job seriously, sir.
@MexiChris409 Such an honor. Well, while you do that, I am going to burn through all my brain cells with inhalants and alcohol. Since you have everything taken care of, what is the use for intelligence?
@supercoolninjayo You can use your intelligence in 4chan, perhaps? Seems like a lot of intelligent people go there nowadays. Please excuse me, I must resume my righteous duties.
@MexiChris409 Oh 4chan? What's that? Please do not go oh righteous one! Please! That double study on solving world hunger and making nuclear fusion machines can wait! What exactly is 4chan?
@supercoolninjayo Ha ha ha. You witty bastard -- you made me laugh :3. You really don't know what 4chan is? Hmm. . .I can't tell if you're lying or not, sir. We must be of equal genius! Perhaps we should join forces and rid the world of all the guidos? Once we do that, Jersey Shore will finally reach its demise! Yes, yes. I can see it now.
It's like I'm standing on the precipice of thought. Looking at it all as a child does to the new world. Not quite sure what to grasp because there's almost too much. So for now I just sit. quietly. silence and awe lay me to rest.
Sweet, horrible and harrowing all at the same time. This piece could fit a picture of a beautiful red rose or blood-stained barbed wire just as perfectly, an intriguing duality.
@jondini Actually this is what a friend of mine refers to as "washing machine music". In other words, it's supposed to be bland and unimaginative. The music draws a clean slate in your mind, and lets your imagination wander more easily. In other words, you don't listen to this music *because* it's imaginative, you listen to this music because it makes *YOU* imaginative.
Reminds me of an experience just after nirvana ... when there was no sound at all, and no wind, and snow fell in little flakes all around. what motivated me then? as I had no desire whatsoever? I guess i just chose to go inside, not because it was warmer, just because that was what i chose.
If you guys like Helios, Hammock, Eluvium, Sigur Ros, Parachutes, or The Album Leaf, you might like some of my stuff. I haven’t gotten a whole lot of feedback, so all is appreciated. Thanks
Hey everyone, if you like Hammock, Helios, Sigur Ros, The Album Leaf, or Eluvium, you might like some of my own stuff. I’ve gotten almost no feedback, so every opinion is appreciated. Thanks.
I wonder if all the post-rock bands out there got together and created something wonderful. Would that be what would play out of the loudspeakers of every house when the world ends?
xvenom12x's comment seems to be more captivating than the actual music and pictures....if it weren't for your pictures, I wouldn't be listening to this to the end. Actually, when I first saw that picture without looking below, I was like wow, I got to say something, but then that 61 thumbed up comment totally blew it.
reminds me of masturbating in the bathtub, my balls resting ever so delicately on the soap dish while my finger passes through time and space and eventually into fragile decaying butthole.

I wonder when this track was made? its not really like anything else Helios has done. It was included on that cdr of unreleased older songs he just put out. i guess it seems more Unomia era in my ears
