@KTH568 I was the only one in my class who was excited to see the movie, I kept trying to get anyone, ANYONE, to take me, and they keot saying it was stupid, because they wanted to see iron man instead. I told them Speed Racer wasgoing to not only look, but BE better than Iron man, and they just shrugged me off.

I saw it online, in terrible quality, and I loved EVERY MINUTE. after it came out on DVD, my friends saw it and started getting all giddy about it, and I stood there proud.

I thought the movie was a bit like 'Star Wars: Attack of the Clones': A bit boring at first (Though the great comic relief scenes with Spritle and Chim Chim made that part watchable), but picking up a lot of steam in the second half, and leading up to a climax that's nothing short of spectacular!

I loved the fight scene between Speed's family and the mob boss's crew, the way that was staged actually made it feel just like I was watching a live- action anime.

I almost cried watching the final race of this movie.

I have NEVER IN MY ADULT LIFE been so affected by a movie.

I was on the edge of my seat with each race, and when i left the theater with my kids, we were all making VROOM CHU CHU CHU CHUCHUCHU sounds and i had a bit of a lead foot *^_^*

This movie is in my top 10 greatest movies ever because this captured Speed Racer and even added drama and a NICE twist i wasn't expecting.

The movie was disappointing because, in the quest of matching the anime's frentic pace, the movie makers mashed Hanna-Barbera colors with anime action and wild amuzement park vistas. It didn't work. I hope someone decides to make another film, but this time, less CGI and more real, working cars for the majority of the races. CGI only for the SFX (such as the Mach V's air jacks, homing bird, and other gagets). Do that, and Speed Racer can really "Go!"

I think this is a new era and that the CGI worked pretty decent for it. I remember watching Speed Racer when I was younger and this doesn't seem to bad. The bright colors adds uniqueness, and the races are face-paced, I know, but it works.

I'm always trepidatious about adaptions, but Speed Racer is probably the best adaption I have ever seen, and this is coming from a purist. I'm also not usually one for the peppy songs that go with the movies, done by new wave artists. However, this song goes perfectly with the movie, and gets me all sorts of excited. Speed Racer is absolutely a 5 out of 5 stars for me, and I give 97% of movies 3 stars. If you were scared Speed Racer will ruin your childhood memories of the show, stop. It won't.
