Don't know how much they are now, bought Dot nearly 3 years ago. Notice you are in the States too, don't know how much breeders charge over there. Sorry I'm no help.

@MPcfeen I am in the states as well and I just purchased myself a Devon Rex. It took me a long time to find a breeder but I paid $800 for my boy. I chose to drive and get him, because the breeder was a couple of states away. I thought shipping him would be traumatizing. However, if you did want to ship them that is available for an additional $250. Hope that will help you in determining the cost.

She'll be 3 this xmas & she's still as bouncy. We rehomed an old DRex from the RSPCA (we named him Spud), hoping he would calm her down. Didn't work, now we've got 2 nutters, he tries to copy whatever she does but he's a fat, old wobbly thing :o)

Yeah :) We have decided that we will pick the first one up this weekend probobly and take him home for a couple of nights to see if my alergy can adjust to him, which i think it can, then we will probobly pick his friend up around christmas :)

A lot of the Devon Rex sites say people with allergies to normal coated cats can live happily with a Rex but not everyone, and the only way to be sure is to spend some time with one. If your girlfriend has a very high allergy and even Devons have too much fur, have you checked out Sphynxs. They have no fur at all. They're very strange looking and feel like suede. (They're very pricey though). Devons are a lot of fun, but be warned - they are total NUTTERS ! :o)

I have mild allergies to cats. I tried to find a Devon online. The closest breeder who responded wanted me to sign a lengthy contract and seemed reluctant to part with any kittens. Said her husband wanted her to stop breeding so many. I think if up to her she wouldn't sell any. In the end after yanking me around, said she only sold to family. Another breeder suddenly demanded payment in full or she'd sell the kitten she said was mine, to someone else. This was weeks ahead of agreed time. Gave up

The U.S. breeders at least the ones posting online mostly seemed to be scammers, pet mills, or hoarders who did not really want to sell to anyone. The British breeders all seemed much more fair, and sane. In the U.S. it's very very clique-ish and they seem more concerned with keeping kittens AWAY from a loving home. Wish I lived in Britain. Would love to have a Devon Rex companion. Love the breed.

We were really lucky to find a breeder just 40 miles from where we live. She was a lovely lady who encouraged every potential buyer to visit her kittens as often as they liked. We first saw Dottie when she was just 2 days old and then visted every week until she was old enough to come home with us. Think all Devon Rex breeders (and owners) are slightly insane. Hope you find someone soon who will let you have a kitten and not mess you about. Best of luck.

She's a good girl and uses the scratching pad, unfortunately she uses the sofa too :) She still runs up the curtains, it was ok when she weighed next to nothing, now I'm learning to live with the sunlight streaming though all the holes :) It's hard to be cross when you're laughing so much.

my luna used to climb under my covers at night and try to rip me to shreds! she's way calmer now :) i keep the indoor cats' claws dull by trimming them with kitty nail clippers. good way to keep your sofa safe. also those cat nip cardboard scratching pads by sofas seem to do the trick. good luck!
