I also hate the fact that the time keeps going after you got 100 coins. I once had 4 seconds left when I got the 100th coin, and I was on the other side of the level -_- Damn Nintendo and their terrible time coders.

MUUCH worse in SMG2. You had friggin cosmic clones chasing you, as if it wasnt hard enough as it is in SMG. I had to lay down a big plan and write down step by step purple coins. Okay, I'm overdoing it just a little bit, but still. And 68% of the time you die by the cosmic clones either draining your health, or pushing you off.

You are thinking about it all wrong. If they made an achievement or gave you a little extra for every god damned thing in a game. There isn't any room for the player himself to make his own adventure. If they gave you something extra for getting all 150 coins, in your mind it's something you "have to do" The way they left it, you're going above and beyond the call of duty.

This level was probably the best. Not the EASIEST, but the best. It was so original. Gusty Gardens' was too "Oh, let's make half of the coins easy to get", and Dreadnought was the opposite, because if you missed ONE coin, you had to start all over. Graveyard Galaxy had to be the most annoying Purple Coin challenge... Luigi's Purple Coins FTW!

I'm not entirely sure if this is true, but I believe Super Mario Galaxy 2's version of the level was much more difficult.

For one, there are only 100 Purple Coins in Galaxy 2, and you have to get all of them. In the first one you only had to get 100 of the 150.

I believe the second one has a shorter time limit too. Oh and one other thing; in Galaxy 2, there are plenty of Cosmic Marios behind your back so you have to constantly run or you'll be dead soon enough...the level was rather fun anyway

Well actually, if you manage to fail the level a couple of times a cosmic figurine of Rosalina appears that if you talk to, she will take over Mario and guide him to get all of the coins and back to the star. You end up getting a Bronze Star (which is still added to the star count), but if you want the power star you'd have to do it yourself. Basically follow the path Rosalina shows you when she guides you and that should be enough to get to the power star.

He did good, but he uses the spin jump too much. Personally I hate using the spin jump, to me it's just a noob tool. I stick with simply regular jump, backwards jumps, and powerjumps ( Basically the stuff from SMG64 ). So yeah... Not dissing him, he got all 150 coins, thats pretty hard. But try it without the spin jump, its a bit harder.
