Firstly gave false info "she was in the pool with a whale she wasn't supposed to be in the pool with" when in fact she was grabbed while out of the pool and tossed around then dragged in and drowned. Then the whole "pulled the defib" really? Pulled it where? I thought she was trying to communicate they stopped using it. But NO they got it out to use. Learn a sense of urgency lady.

Very sad indeed. But those trainers know the risks. They acknowledge the fact that these are naturaly wild animals and they accept that. But they also know that is the beauty of it. I would LOVE to help and train wild animals. You gotta be careful of course and not stupid. Always use caution and have a backup emergency gun or some kind of tazer / tranquilizer etc. I'm sure seaworld has back up firearms.

Whales are social animals, they need a pod to live with or they'll starve. Think back to high school, the 'popular kids' would let just anyone be with them? Dine with shamu is essentually an information show in which the trainers talk about the orcas and do simple tricks such as breeching. At no point in Dine with Shamu do the trainers get in the water with the orcas. This incident actually happend after the show to. Dawn was on a slide out praising Tillikum.

If it takes the dispatcher 5 minutes to find out where help is needed, that's a lot of wasted time in an emergency situation. Any animal that kills a human being should be put down. I don't care if it's in the wild, a zoo, an aquarium, or someones pet. Once that animal knows how to do it, for whatever reason, its life becomes forfeit. And that's coming from an animal lover, too.
3} Animals don't have "rights". But they are protected under our laws regarding abuse and cruelty.
4} anytime an animal kills a human being it should be 'put down'. When a shark or lion kills a human being that animal is tracked down and killed. The same goes for domestic animals, like dogs. My question was "why wasn't this Orca "put down" for killing, not one, but multiple people ?

That orca was definitely stressed.
This is what happens, all in the name of human entertainment. I don't blame the whale or the human. I blame our lack of respect, common sense and understanding. Something needs to change. More whales will kill, more people will die. Yes they are fascinating, but they are deadly and shouldnt be used in shows for entertainment.

If they know the whale is dangerous, "the whale they're not supposed to be in a tank with", then why do they have him in captivity in the first place? He's a wild bred whale, no shit he's going to act out unlike the captive-bread animals. They need to find some intelligence and realize that wild animals won't do well being used for entertainment, and shouldn't be captured in the first place.

The fact is that this whale has killed a total of 3 people, so far. Even if it was somebody's pet dog they would have euthanised already.

Any animal that kills a human being should be put down. I don't care if it's in the wild, a zoo, an aquarium, or someones pet. Once that animal knows how to do it, for whatever reason, its life becomes forfeit. And that's coming from an animal lover, too.

2} Yes, human beings are above animals.
3} Animals don't have "rights". But they are protected under our laws regarding abuse and cruelty.
4} anytime an animal kills a human being it should be 'put down'. When a shark or lion kills a human being that animal is tracked down and killed. The same goes for domestic animals, like dogs. My question was "why wasn't this Orca "put down" for killing, not one, but multiple people ?

I'm not stating an opinion on this issue. I'm stating a FACT. That dogs are "put down" when they kill a human being. And governments in Africa & Asia hunt down "man killer" lions & tigers after those animals kill human beings. And governments will hunt down "man killer" sharks, too. Ever see the movie Jaws ?
I was also asking a question as to why this animal hasn't been put down yet, after killing it's third human being ?
