Wobbuffet learns both Counter and Mirror Coat. Both attacks let it reflect twice the damage it takes, but one works on physical attacks and the other works on special attacks. And each time he shows up as a normal red one you turn the game off, turn it back on, and fight him again and again and again and repeat this for about a few weeks strait till the gold one shows up instead of the red.
