  • The chords for this song are B flat- Gminor- Dsharp- Bflat for the verses, F- Gminor- Dsharp- Bflat for the chorus and F- Gminor-F- Gminor-DSharp for the bridge.

Goes verse -chorus- verse- chorus- bridge - SOLO- then chorus again.

    Hope that helps! Good luck!

  • @blisterbeetle85 He IS a legendary guitarist!!!

  • i dig it

  • yeeeeeehhhhh

  • Saw these guys a couple of weeks ago. Brand new band than what is shown in this video. If you have a chance to check Mato out, don't miss it!. He blew my socks off!!

  • Indigenous is like heroin, I am hopelessly addicted and want more more more

  • Seems to me there's been some changes in this band since I first saw them at the n'Sect Club in Hampton back in the early 90's. I have a ticket stub around here somewhere...Saw them again last night at The jewish Mother in Va Beach and posted a bit of it. was a good show I was impressed, very tight sounded good. the psychedelic stuff was a gas but I'd like to see them do some quirkier material. Nice shoot btw would be interested in knowing what you shot it with.

  • Don't forget! New Album drops tomorrow!!!

  • Indigenous is the poster child of what's wrong with the music industry. Instead of hearing quality talented bands, we get Jessica Simpson and David Fartuletta. It's all about image and sex appeal because apparently that's what 12 year old little girls want. Fuck Sony, CBS records, Viacom, Clear Channel and all the other corporate music hedgemen who don't give a shit about pure talent yet cry about poor music sales. Steve Miller would never make it in todays business because he's too butt ugly.

  • oh NO! I meant to give this comment thumbs UP UP UP, not down - darn...

  • I did a gig last week replacing a guitarist and the drumer of the band as soon as I told I was a fan of Warren Hayes and Dereck Trucks he told about this band. Man thank you for sharing this band with me. now they are one of my favorites.

  • One of the best live shows I've seen... would definitely recommend if you get the chance.

  • Thats pretty Damn good man!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I know what you're talkin bout Mr.Notatuba.Jazzfest @ Place des Arts patio outdoors or Jazzfest @ Mt.Tremblant under the stars.Super Smoothie Nights.

    Fireworks,racing cars and Crescent St.

  • Love you guys! Come on home, to Montreal! We need you back on the Blues stage of the Jazz Fest!!! you know what I'm talkin' about...

  • i think we've found the soul of Stevie Ray, this guy is gonna be huge, the band deserve some more air play, M

  • I saw these guys at Summerfest (Milwaukee Wi.) a couple of times, years ago. He is an awesome blues guitarist ... Tons of feel. But they've been around for many years now. If they aint huge yet, It probably won't ever happen for them... sad to say.

  • Exactly, add to that shame that the original band has been dumped. Mato Nanji is the only member left, from what was a band made up of family members.

  • Are you kidding me??? Haven't heard that... seems unbelieveable. Like you say... they are family. That bites.

  • Not kidding... check out the liner notes from their last CD, "Chasing The Sun." That was back in 2006, so, who knows, by now they could have regrouped.

Also, look at this video. The original drummer Mato's was sister, Pte. That certainly isn't her behind those drums.

  • Make the sister's name Wanbdi. Pte was his brother, and the bands' original bassist.

  • Yeah... I noticed that his sister wasn't in this video, but I just figured there was some other reason for that... never would have thought they left the band. Like I said... hard to belive a group of family members would split up... especially so soon. They are all still pretty young, aren't they?

  • I have to admit dafyd... I really don't follow them all that closely, so please excuse my ignorance. It's too bad Mato split from his family, but honestly & obviously... he's always been the draw in this group. He's the one people come to see. There are plenty of good rythm sections out there. But I always thought it was kind of cool as a family thing.

  • To be honest, if I hadn't been working in a distribution center for a local music chain some 10 years ago, and happened to pick up one of their CD's out of a box of promos, I'd have never heard of them myself.

As far as him being the draw, yeah. The other members of the original band talked about that on a video I have on them. Don't know if it's still available, simply called Indigenous Live.

  • Don't feel bad about it... I first heard about them on The Rosanne Barr Show ... about 2000. I was like ... WTF ... I'm a musician, and RB had to tell me about these guys??? LOL. Whatever... lololol!

  • I like it.

  • The whole cd is great, goes w/me on all road trips, but this track, gotz to be my favorite!! Thx for the post dbfan!!....Sworn

  • seen them play this on aboriginal music awards. this tune is tha shit if they come across reading this "dudes fuggin rock!!"

  • Does anyone know what tuning he used on this song?

  • it's tuned half a step down and played in B flat.

  • Sweet! Muchas garcias! LOL

  • Yep....that's right.

  • 15 20 years ago mato would have been one of the kings of rock n roll. is in my book anyways

  • I know what u mean!!!!!! :)

  • His journey is going to take him on a wonderous adventure through music and talent.

He will always belong to us no matter what.

    This we are assured off.

  • Pte is not touring. Saw them last month.

  • I would HIGHLY recommend he get a Peterson Strobostomp tuner so he can be perfectly tune AND do it while the guitar signal is muted.

It's annoying for an audience to hear you tune your guitar. It's even worse when you are still out of tune once you've subjected them to hearing you tune. I know - been there, done that! LOL

  • How bout Hendrix? His guitar was always out of tune... When you play like this you don't need no Peterson whatsoever.

  • bro , your ghey.. who cares if it was out of tune. and i believe he has it down tuned to D??? or something..

  • He usually only tunes it ½ step down.

  • This is really great, but why isn't Wanbdi on drums?

  • Wanbdi and Horse both left the band. Pte played on the new album but I dont' know if he is touring with Mato Nanji.

  • Hmm, there is nothing about this on the Indigenous website. Such a shame! I've advised my music students to attend their upcoming performance in Cleveland but didn't know half the band is no longer in the band.

  • Mato is the only "old" Indigenous left in the band. He still plays with some incredibly talented people though. It's just not very Indigenous anymore.

He has become a much better singer now though!

  • love it! mato has a great voice. some native blues sounds so good! mvto!

  • Does anyone know the tab for "come on home"

  • did you get a response yet

  • Great Vid. Love Mato's voice.

    Respect!

  • You google "Indigenous" or even search You-Tube for these guys and you get some bullshit documentary... lol, these guys are AMAZING... love their bluesier music

  • all right finally you can here the true nuances of Mato's voice...pretty cool, aho cola

  • june 5th great show in santa fe. LLB AND INDIGENOUS TOGETHER AT LAST. KEEP EYES AND EARS OPEN. 3 SHOWS ONLY. still catch MATO near you.

  • Someone needs to record those shows if it isn't too late already! I WANT to see my two favorite players together!

  • some1 buy him a tuner

  • he purposely puts his guitar down half a step...

  • when you're that good you dont need a tuner.

  • sorry have to comment again....i love Mato!!!!thanx doyle bramhall fan!!!

  • Also. Why this man is not more famous than what he is currently is beyond me.

  • Pte is gone, Wanbdi is gone and Horse left far earlier as far as I recall.

Pte is in some other band now, and I think Wanbdi has a song up on myspace.

  • TY!!!!!!!! for posting. MATO is amazing. I'm in love lol. Actually I love his guitar playing =) This is the newest thing I've heard since their earlier cd's. I love this video. Thanks again for posting.

  • Pte is on the Indigenous band but Horse is gone as is the drummer.

  • Yes, he is growing up. . gotta say, he's still got the fire! Much more comfortable onstage. I miss the family, but glad he's still rockin' out, no matter what! Would love to see Mato Nanji and Henry Garza onstage together!

  • YES WE LOVE MATO/INDIGENOUS! They do a mean Hey Joe. I almost passed out when I heard it at a concert at the State Theater in Va. MORE VIDEO'S, MORE VIDEO'S....

  • hey man, i'm a really big indigenous fan

i really really really want to hear their version of hey joe, but i cant find it anywhere

    can you help at all??

  • i wish i could help you, but i only heard it live at that one concert. mato does such a crazy version of that song, i don't know why he doesn't play it more often.

if i find it i will let you know, and please do the same for me if you locate it.

  • They go to the buzzards roost in Tahlequah Oklahoma every summer I promise that you"ll hear it there

  • that sounds like an absolute dream come true

except for the fact im 16 and in australia :(

  • Yes, it's only Mato left now.

  • Wow! They broke up? I've seen them a half-dozen times, from the very first tour on... I wonder why? I wonder why?

  • This is just Mato. Indigenous isn't together anymore. He's still awesome as hell.

  • Mato is by far one of the most overlooked insane blues players out there. He's keeping the SRV sound alive. I'm so glad to see their stuff on youtube. This is what youtube is all about!

  • Do you have any more videos of this concert? I heard someone yelling C'mon Suzie at the end of the song - Man I'd like to see that one!

  • AMAZING! Keep it coming please! Damn Mato has become good at singing! Anyone noticed how insane he's become since, lets say Things We Do, or Indigenous?
