  • yeah, another poor, soundless, pointless video about nothing...

  • you heard about higher resolution?

  • link for iso pls./...

  • Steamer

  • At about @2:14 it sounds as if your mic cut out.

  • sore troath from sucking too mutch cock

  • Make a damn ISO !!!

  • snape?

  • gaylord

  • fail to present solaris inside vista...

  • I had Solaris 10 installed on one used computer with a network connection on the MB. I could not get a connection setup with the OS and replaced it with OpenSuSE and saw a big difference in setup and what I was able to do with it. I also have Solaris 8 which I got when it was new and had the same problem on a different tower. I gave up after awhile and the large book I purchased for it didn't help either since it was too technical and didn't give direct information on how to work in the OS.

  • where's this... vineo...? hehehe

  • definitely a Shemale!!!!! he he he he he

  • can you play games like GTA IV and Halo?

  • @jdcrispe95 computers are not just for games

  • what screen capture sofwate u using??

  • @emailroy2002 he is using camtasia ( look and his task bar it is the first program opened)

  • @7halos1 *and only :O

  • solaris looks EXACTLY like ubuntu...

  • @greyfox322 Thats because it uses the "Gnome" desktop environment. There are many desktop environments for Unix/Linux, each available for install on demand.

  • ha you have a virus fail

  • Open Solaris is a good OS, but ZFS is awesome file system!

  • Is like the voice of the song house !!the undergraund baby the underground!! danny tenaglia mix

Viados voice! U are taking Hormones! :-)

  • HOLY CRAP UR VOUICE IS SO ANNOYING

  • It is good that there is an Opensource project which is supported by Sun Microsystems. That is why you have so many other projects for Linux, BeOS, and many other operating systems.

  • Is that a human being talking?

  • you talk like a robot :/

  • Don't use winows vissta, close down all the programs you have in your system tray, remove the google toolbar, and run it again, I can gurantee it will be more than twice as fast!

  • Wow!... What a way to show OpenSolaris power... Not only using it under Vbox... But under cro$oft too! ouff..

You know that any else Unix or Unix-like have almost all a live CD?...

  • You have the worst fag lisp I have ever heard in my lyf3.

  • ntfs is the partition and ext4 is the journaling system. linux uses whatever partition u tell it to basically. u can install linux into an ntfs partition. and linux cant play the top windows games unfortunatley. I hate windows but it owns the market when it comes to gaming. which raises the question-Why the hell do businesses use windows? if they want real work done, theyd do it the old way-single user command line haha

  • is this a man or a woman talking>

  • I think its an android

  • i think its a dude or a chick with an accent

  • Shemale

  • Haha... xD sounded strange any way xD

  • @darkspamic OMG I LAUGHED 30 MIN

  • @darkspamic Based on his voice alone?

  • it is no good thing putting business-class OS on top of gaming platform, like Windows.

I prefer having windows inside VM`s only because i don`t believe closed source windows security.

  • You are very wise to do that.

  • @markoresko It's also no good having a performance slug because you're virtualising a box :/ VMs are MUCH better for high reliability systems because they're so easy to migrate, they crumple when it comes to games and other high performance tasks.

Also, openSolaris isn't really an enterprise platform, it's kind of the "Fedora" for Solaris, just a testing ground to draw people into the platform for free

  • @TheRealFallenDemon

As I was saying, windows is great gaming platform.

I see you are a bit Illiterate about OpenSoalris and Soalris problematic in general. Let just ask people using Soalris AND OpenSolaris , Nexenta etc, on HA production server on valuable data and data amounts you can only dream about on any other platform.

  • @markoresko I used to work for Sun :/

  • @TheRealFallenDemon And Oracle kicked your ass out along with OpenSolaris.

A shame about OpenSolaris, I used it and liked it. Now I'm stuck with a yearsold Express edition if I want Solaris. Fuck no.

  • @markoresko

    nobb

    nope, it is vice versa

it is recomaned that gaming os is main because is more powerfull thatn emulating

  • so is opensolaris > windows yet? like, is it easy-to-use, fully compatible (if i cant pay everything from WoW to illutia to op7 on it, it aint fully compatible) & rdy for da nubz yet?

  • Windows isn't fully compatible, either. No operating system is.

  • windows is only incompatible w/ programs that take note NOT to be compatible w/ it. its the most compatible by far

  • Nononono, you're all wrong there. Linux is by far more compatible than windows is. Linux can use almost anything that windows can use, and there's lots more that linux can use that windows probably will never be able to use.

Also, windows running the stupid NTFS makes it even worse, linux use a much smarter EXT4(or ext3 whatever you want), which can also read NTFS(which makes linux even more compatible).

    TL;DR:

    Linux > Windows in general.

  • @StuFFrisH: Telling Windows users that Linux is better is like telling someone that their religion is wrong. Let it go, man.

  • @LTS1287 me thinks you take oses a little too seriously

  • Actually I don't but I can't say the same for some of the Linux fanboys out there. An operating system is just a tool and while I enjoy tweaking Linux and learning more about UNIX I don't go online and say "LINUX IS TEH 1337!!". Windows fanboys are just as bad, though. Most of them have never used any other OS and immediately say that any non-windows OS is crappy. That's the point I was getting at. Changing a fanboy's mind is impossible.

  • well i fully agree with you there some fan boys i have seen wont even watch videos of other OS because there afraid of being proven wrong Linux crashes just like windows and mac and every other OS they all can crash it just something that's a reality with software there will always be glitches no matter what

  • @kornguy26: well, I will say that UNIX and UNIX-like operating systems are a lot less prone to crashing. :)

The nature of open source development produces very stable software.

  • true they are much more stable but still not totally flawless i use oses to suit my wants and needs and will use and learn anything to get something done i need to get done

  • You're right in a sense.

  • Its as dumb as asking someone if a gasoline car can use hydrogen to move....

  • thats a valid question. the answer is: maybe, depends on how you built it. i could design a hydrogen fuel to work in a gasoline car

  • Ha! forget it dude.... youre right... youre right...

    lol

  • Helium mixed with sulfur hexafluoride XD

  • your voice reminds me of proffesor snape lol awesome OS

  • only for x64

  • nope you downloaded the wrong version go back and make for sure x32 is checked when you download it

  • Opensolaris is not UNIX, and your voice kills kittens.

  • Opensolaris IS unix you dumbass.

    It's SVR5, UNIX SYSTEM FIVE

  • No it fucking isn't. That is in no way true.

How about you get me a source if you are so sure of yourself.

  • SRV5 + Open systems acredited.

    Its a real unix alright.

  • cite the source.

  • Do your own research. Im not here to hold your hand kidstuff :3

  • No you cite me a source. You obviously would never make it though college.

  • Nor would you. You'd need the ability to find information for yourself.

If you really want answers... [Search]

  • ok you tube us not an essay you tube is a chat room with videos as a sideshow anymore no need to cite sources if you think you tube is a way to determine college success then you are an idiot

  • You can't spell worth a fuck. Go to school.

  • ok so instead of actually arguing my point you deflect it to one or two typos i may have made

    nice

  • Thats how I roll fucker.

  • so then you roll like a retarded monkey who cant pose a real argument? im embarrassed to see "ubuntu" in y our name and shocked you know how to set it up

  • Proof that you got pwnd. This is my main account.

  • I'll let you in on a secret. This is a troll account.

    You got trolled dude.

  • wow and now when you lose you claim troll well fine go back to your bridge you have no power here thanks for the laugh though

  • No really, you got trolled.

My real channel is JamesManes. Ask ASCII808 or roboticterror. You got pwnd.. up the ass.

  • ok at this point your looking more pathetic by the second so you mean you actually have time to make alt accounts for the soul purpose of bothering others lame

  • The only thing that was SysV was SysV from the 80s. Find a citation from the OpenGroup that OpenSolaris is UNIX and maybe your mommy will let yo have dessert!

  • 1. When one doesn't know what their talking about it's best to keep one's mouth shut.

    2. Opensolaris is derived from SVR4(SYSV).

    3. Maybe a pretty picture will suffice for your handicapped faculties?

    en(.)wikipedia(.)org/wiki/File:Unix_history-simple(.)svg

Also this, "...the OpenSolaris project, creating the only open-source (heavily modified) System V implementation available."

  • Just because an OS is SysV-like does not make it SysV and therefore UNIX. Bell-Labs UNIX is dead and the only way to be a UNIX today is through the OpenGroup.

  • Sun bought SVR4 (which IS UNIX developed BY UNIX). And added to it over many years - making it even better.

Solaris 10 is 100% POSIX compliant (so will the enterprise version of SunOS5.11]) - retaining all unix qualities and expanding upon it's ideology.

ZFS, SMF, Ipfilter etc. are what make a unix an attractive option for enterprises, these are things that are only supported by Sun Microsystems - on Solaris.

  • I see you are not on the iPhone as you are quite good at copy-paste. That is all shit I know about. But still Opensolaris is not Solaris and is not UNIX.

  • In facts we dont know really if is still using semantics and original pieces of System 4, by the years SUN have been added a lot of different things to Solaris core, software designing cycle is really a headache and changes everything in one day, even it could keep POSIX a b and c,but that just a paper, UNIX in the story was like a piece of cake where all the guys take their piece and do whatever they want with it, so thats why all has changed, OS keeps just the desing of K&R.

    Saludos.

  • Opengroup has acredited it , as far as I'm aware.

    Its a unix.

  • Well i dont know if is stll pure UNIX like the one of Bell Labs, but in terms of words it is.

  • No, none of the currently freely available flavors of UNIX share any code with the original UNIX from bell labs.

Solaris is by origin a unix-clone, made by Sun

  • NEVER EVER EVER Call Solaris Open Solaris. HUGE difference. If you ever call that piece of trash opensolaris solaris ever again I will kill your family.

  • this is not solaris 10 it's openSolaris that is pretty big difference

  • hmmm if they became fully open source i dont think anyone would use linux....unix is a much more solid base for people to create a really great commercial os saying that im sure linux can too....does anyone know what it would take to make linux become unix certified? or is it somthing that cannot be rectified now.

  • money..

  • haha obviously, i meant in its kernel

  • i think that what unix is about, is the filesystemhierarchie and the tools.. not the stuff in the kernel..

  • It seams an interesting OS but i t has GNOME... :((

  • Ubuntu is better than this crap!

  • ive had ubuntu for ages so im bored , i want to get solaris now as its awesome!

  • Lawl. You wish.

    Solaris is UNIX

    Linux is NOT.

  • Linux is actually a variant of UNIX and uses the same tools and facilities. Thats why its very easy to migrate apps on UNIX to Linux. They basically share the same heritage.

  • No it isn't. Linux does not meet UNIX certification. Look it up.

  • Oh enneh...

HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS VID SO HIGH DEFINITION ?

  • lol i thought Solaris was just something that was text-based crap. IT ISN'T xD

  • LOL he sounds like a man lady ROFL

  • craaazy voice u got :P

  • please either buy a faster computer or stop using vista next time, thanks

  • la voz me desagrada, pero esta bien
