I think the hood rocks those who hate it are jealous cause they can't afford it lol, and 80-90's. For my 89 gta I use prem cause its turned up, if its stock normal car no mods reg is fine if its med mod use med gas if its really turned up go with prem

It was a 87-89 GTA. It was the MAF and a standard 48mm Throttle Body. And it was an added part of the hood kit. I have one.

There ia a air flow sensor which was standard for this eng and year - between the filter and throttle body. pontiac had droped it the next year saying it had no extra effect on the eng , or tho it might of been a cost saving venture. would of been a lot easer to fit with out it.

my old t/a always had weak 1 tire burnouts.. never got a clear answer on how to "correct' that. never going to fix it now but just curious is that normal n whats the solution if its not.. its an 87'

Yours didn't have a posi trac option which enable both rear wheels to be powered simultanously. The GTAs have that option standard while optional on standard T/As. Yours have the 5L or 5.7L?

5L i put a 5.7 in later which is why i cant drive it anymore. a tank doesnt get me far on that engine heh

If you have a lsd, and if it only spins one wheel , my understanding is the clutch packs in the diff are burnt out. the only way to get both wheels spinning again is to replace them. You may not even have a lsd.

Mate, look, its a GM B2L engine 5735cc the exact same engine they put in the Chevrolet Corvette & the Camaro Iroc-Z of the same heritage as the T/A... Stock, it produced 225bhp & 330ft/lb torque.... It may have been slightly more bhp in the Camaro & Corvette!

Only the GTA came stock with the B2L engine... The standard Firebird, Formula & T/A came stock with Pontiacs own 5.0Tpi (LO3 or LB9) engine which most T/A Enthusiasts prefer... Everything I have told you is correct, check it out yourself!

first the hood is to feed the TPI air thats y its called a ram air scoop. and u say stock? so u wont put a higher flowing exhaust or better flowing intake. and u would stay at the stock 170 hp & 255 lbf of torque. i know that i wouldnt. u couldnt even keep up with a gsr with that.

Firstly, its a 5.7 (B2L, Corvette Engine) which means 225bhp & 330 ft/lb Torque!

Secondly, Stock power would be enough for me but there is certainly nothing wrong with improving performance!

You can improve performance without changing the appearance, these T/As ALWAYS look better stock... If you read me comment properly you would understand that's what I meant!

ok my bad its a 5.7 GTA but they didnt come stock with a vette motor thats y its called a vette motor its from a vette. the L98 thats in the Trans Ams had cast iron heads not aluminum like the vettes. and sorry i cant confirm the power out put of a vette motor cus i never dinoed 1. but i know that the L98 were in the trans ams made 210hp stock but with high proformance plugs wires and rotor n cap combo with a k&n filter make 220hp. if the motor in this car is a vette motor then no way its stock.

Also, the GM L98 was an optional engine for the T/A & Camaro between '87-'92, the T/A never came stock with this engine.... It was the standard engine for the C4 Vette between '85-'91!

T/A's used the same 305 & 350ci that was used in the Vette prior to the L98, Pontiac used 2 variants of the 305 between '82-'88 (Firebird & Firebird Formula) & their codes for those variants were (L03 & LB9) & the 350 (T/A GTA) was known as the B2L & was all cast iron unlike the Vette which had Aluminium heads!

ok ur way off the only 350 the 3rd gens came with were L98s and that was introduced in 87. ask ne 1 with a pre 87 3rd gen if they have a 350. and so what if they called the same motor B2L u just poved in ur last sentence that what i said was right they had 2 different heads. i have a L98 from a 3rd gen and a vette if u want ill mesure the head volume and the rocker ratio as well as ne thin else u want me to check. im not no kid with wikipedia open on the next tab i actualy work on cars and know

you wont notifce any gain, also they dont fit very well, they also arent meant to bolt on out of the box, expect to have alot of work done to the hood, they can be made to look good, but even the car in this video looks to have a gap between the hood and the bumper.

I find it ironic that Brits and some European'a want old American cars in general, but alot of Americans want your small newer economy cars.
