All cops are trained to double lock during an arrest. Double locking prevents the catch from moving until the key is used to disengage the double lock. Basically it keeps you from being able to shove a paper clip up in there and wiggle the catch around, and also prevents the cuffs from tightening down any further than the officer originally sets it. So, in an actual arrest, this wouldn't work unless the officer is incompetent :/

That won't work if they are double looked and if a cop puts them on they are required to double lock them.

I thought the ratchet deadlocked when double locked. I'll have to check my ASP cuffs just to be sure. The only other way i know of to break them is to bind the chain. Then bend the one way. Re-bind the chain and bend them the other way. you may have to do it a few times, but the rivet will pop or the chain will break.

There's an easier way, just twist a bent paperclip in the key hole and they will open, however, it only works on some pairs of real handcuffs.

Actually, double locking the cuffs won't affect the rachet mechanism at all. Double locking only makes it harder if you're trying to actually pick the lock. Not to mention, I've been handcuffed on several occasions and none of the cops ever double locked them. With that being said, those aren't real handcuffs this dummy is using. HWC? Did you get those with your batman suit, kid? Let's see you try that on a pair of Smith and Wesson handcuffs.
