You can't save anyone in the intro because there are no controls in which to call them, hold their hand, or give them weapons and food. Anyone who says otherwise is probably confusing them with another survivor that you encounter later on in the game.

when you say 'maximum number of possible survivors' do you mean all of them, or all that are possible while you do everything else, meaning you may miss some? does this cover all pp stickers?

You can rescue a maximum of 53 survivors, including Frank himself, if you go on an Ending B run and you know when to abandon the case files. This is an Ending A run, so I only got 51 in the end.

You can't get all the PP Stickers in a perfect run, because you have to get captured by the cultists on Day Two to get two stickers.

Just to add that there is 54 survivors in the game, but you have to choose between Simone and Russell(Barnaby).

They're both possibly infected, but I'd rescue Simone as Barnaby has lived for a fair amount of time, while Simone is 18. Plus, you must rescue her to get the transmissionary achievement.
