NO fucking way!! She was here?? Well, actually I'm originally from Montreal, but I could have EASILY gotten to Toronto if I had known.. I lived for about 7 years in Dubai growing up, and learned a GREAT deal of and about the Arabic language and fell in love with Arabic music, PARTICULARLY this WONDERFUL, beautiful woman's gorgeous voice...I had never heard ANYTHING like her voice before... it remains one of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard come out of a human being before.. sigh..

@ammarios Yeah, I've seen her in concert in Toronto twice now, once on April 17, 2004 with Wadih Al-safi, then the concert in the video on November 24, 2007 with Wa'el Kfoury and Fadel Shakir. Both times they were a concert tour around North America, and (I'm not 100% sure) she may have stopped in Montréal.

@najwakaramfan48 Nooooooo! And I missed it?! Sigh.... Why, oh whyyyyyyy?!!

It really sucks that since she is (for obvious reasons) MUCH less well-known here, her concerts here aren't really advertised and promoted the way Western musicians are...I guess it's one of those hings that you have to look for if you want to find out about.... Oh well.. hopefully, next time..next time.....

@ammarios Yeah, it is a bit tricky finding out about Arabic concerts here... Generally, Middle Eastern grocery stores/music stores are your best bet for both finding out about concerts and buying the tickets. Plus, Najwa Karam's Facebook group often mentions her upcoming concerts.
