alright so i have a question for you. I have been signing for 2 years and i noticed we sign a few things differently at 1:40 what exactly are you signing??
Your signing was as beautiful as the song. It's truely inspiring. Also, it's good for you to take the feedback and actually consider it, but remember that ASL is the same as any other language. It's contantly evolving, thus people will always be confused when it comes down to what's "right" and "wrong". Your facial expressions are dead on (or so it seems to me, and I'm not an expert).
Okay, the sign at 0.21-0.22, I see this used often, and vaguely understand what it means but don't know the direct translation, what's the exact meaning of it?
@Catwalksymphony : The sign is EXPERIENCE. the line said. "you were strong and I was not" it does not mean physically strong in a relationship but the experience he had and that she was naive so i used experience for that line. Hope this helps!
@silenthearinmusician Ahh! Thanks for the explanation, it helps alot. I'm sorry people are complaining about your sign choices, I think it was somewhere in between PSE and ASL, not SE like people have said. The grammar was very ASL, and it's obvious you can do beautiful conceptual translations (your translation for Halo is one of my absolute favorites). I wanted to say that I appreciate that you take the time to use a wide range of SL in your translations, to reach a broader audience.
@Catwalksymphony Than k you for watching my videos and taking the time out to comment on them. As for the negative comments i take them as constructive critisism because we can only improve. I try to use ASL and some english metaphors because i get a lot of mixed opinions with Deaf people say they are not stupid and they understand english metaphors so use it and others who say its not ASL therefore should not be used etc. But im glad ppl enjoy and learn from it! thank you again!

I agree with the fact, as a deaf myself, why are you signing in English, I also had a hard time understanding the concept of the song, Remember ASL is a visual Language, its not about word for word in English its a about the topic and explaining with emotions and visual art...

If you are a good signer, your signing should be universal. I can sign Level 4 BSL (top level) and I can read BSL easily. Because you are a good signer, the signing is universal, and any form of sign language community is able to understand you. Amazing! Maybe even people that can't sign, would be able to understand some of it.

I just saw a few videos online where people were signing and found it so fascinating, I knew I had to learn it myself. I've since joined an ASL club here in NC.
