It's never about what chords you use, it's how you use them and if the chords work with what you are trying to put across.

However, I have to admit that I am not crazy about the lyrics, the dynamics of the song or the voice. It's all pretty much standard singer-songwriter stuff. But that is my opinion and I am definetly not an authority here.
