  • is this a good idea for my first jet and first plane with ailerons?

  • great video, i like the setup. I just did a doppler reading on the pass that you repeated and got 91MPH. Have you got the hang of the hand launches? I just wrecked my funjet and i'm thinking of putting the power system in to the concept X and flying it without the gear.

  • @parkfly27 Glad you liked it. It WAS a fun (but tricky) little jet. Unfortunately I lost it due to a loss of radio signal :( Hand launches are easy with a firm, straight push off. Also, some wing fences help at low speed/landing. It would be a good idea to stiffen the tail surfaces with some carbon strip too. Have fun with yours!

  • whats a quick pusher plane?

  • @MrScottishBeaver I've only had one pusher, and that was the Parkzone brushless Stryker. It went fast enough for me, but many have transformed them into absolute speed demons! I hear good things about the Multiplex Fun Jet too.

  • @dro56595 Fun Jet is great, flys slow sleep aswell as fast. top speed we got 110 mph with ours. Best thing is about it it can fly slowly and tootle around if you want. Then they're is the Fun jet Ultra. we got this at 157mph just this one you can't really fly slow. Hope this helped

  • @MrScottishBeaver depends on what you want the stryker c is a good fast model Dro is right the funjet is also good.....but i think (i know its not a pusher prop) the Phase3 fantom is excelent...great handling fast or slow and mine used to practically land herself untill i bent her up beyond repair after pure pilot error i am thinking of getting another which i plan on using twin edf and beefing them up a little more aswell.....

  • so the foam is pretty strong on this I assume? I just got a foam only kit... pretty darn expensive for only the foam/pushrods... but NP always charges more for their new products, even though the foam cost them $5. I plan to put in a 65mm fan @ 4000kv, 60A ESC, and 4 cell lipo. Should go over 100MPH! (I have another jet with same setup that goes over 105MPH!). Hopefully this jet will prove to be good. I like it because it has a rudder, that is the main reason I got it, many jet kits don't

  • @earthling1984 Hope it goes well for you. The foam can take a few bumps, but it isn't indestructable! Cheers.

  • @dro56595 it went pretty well. Out of the box, the jet had lots of quality control issues! After fixing it up and getting it ready for flight, it flew really nice! I got it on the radar gun at 99MPH on a level pass! It is very twitchy in the air, and rolls like 20 times a second! I don't even have my controls on the furthest throw settings! Flew nice once in trim, and landed pretty easy. Not a bad airframe once fixed up.

  • @earthling1984 Congratulations! Glad to hear it went well.

  • @earthling1984 you should change the dual rate settings in your radio so that at a flick of a switch you can switch between fast controls and slow controls mabye like 5 mm throws in up and 3mm in down elivator....i used to have the microjet with brushless mod and that was ballistic and very twitchy in slow flight, after alot of messing and a few dings got her flying sort of nice....i say sort of but she never flew well slow had to sort of do a very low fast flyby and chop throttle to land lol

  • Ok thanks. Last question, is it a good beginner edf plane?

  • @bakonlicious Hmmm, depends a lot on your previous experience. If you've got a lot of time on quick pushers like the Stryker or similar, then maybe.

  • Also is it durable? Will the foam snap or bend?

  • @bakonlicious The EPO foam is more 'springy' than EPP foam, so it is more resistant to cracking or snapping. If you crash it at high speed, it will still end up in pieces, but you saw from my video it will take a few minor tumbles without much damage.

  • I have a dx6i transmitter would I have to replace the reciever in the concept x with one that would work with the dx6i?

  • @bakonlicious From memory the DX6i should be OK. Bind the 2.4G receiver in the Concept X to your DX6i transmitter, and test. Make sure you follow the instructions in the tx manual, including a comprehensive range check (with motor running slowly). You'll lose nothing by trying! Cheers.

  • Yes, it's an easy flier (assuming you've flown a few higher performance planes). I upgraded the power system from 64mm 3s to 70mm 4s. Stronger undercarriage will be required for grass strips. Cheers.

  • Was it a pretty easy flier? What improvements or mods would you make to it? By rx - receiver right? I'm so tempted to buy one!! I'm hoping it flies as good as it looks!

  • I'm thinking of a new 70mm edf build would u recommend this airframe or should I look into something else. Ive been looking at the concept X but cant really find any info on it...any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Sean

  • @sshukri0 This airframe was designed for 64mm fan. It requires a lot of foam carving to fit the 70mm fan and get the most out of it. The Phase 3 F-16 requires less work, is easier to fit and goes faster. But the concept X does look very nice. And there's plenty of 70mm jets ready to go. Depends how much work you want to do. Thanks.

  • Nice setup. Where is the battery compartment located?

  • @sshukri0 The big canopy removes for access to the battery and electronics compartment.

  • Good stuff dan!!! SHe was one quick machine:)

p.s camera guy needs the sack:) :)

  • @mrpcbang I need a better camera!! The autofocus is next to useless :(

    Thanks!
